-=The Good=- -The staff was very nice. You can tell this is a family run business. -The yellow curry was good. If I came back this would be my top choice. -=The Bad=- -No soda on tap. It is super easy and free for a restaurant to get a soda machine if they just ask. They should get a soda machine. The biggest complaint I have is they sell soda in a can. That in itself is fine, but charging $2.50 for a can of soda is nothing short of ripping you off. -The fish sauce. Wow. They are VERY heavy handed on the fish sauce in some of their dishes. I am pretty tolerant of fish sauce and enjoy it in my Thai dishes, but this was too much (many in our party had the same issue with some not finishing their plate because of the overwhelming flavor). -The price. The dishes were priced too high. It makes this a tough choice for a lunch stop. -=The Ugly=- -Nothing ugly here. Finding a good and authentic Thai place is difficult. Aroon is the best I've had in Utah. We ordered, spring rolls, the Massaman curry and the Tom Kha Kai. Everything was pretty close to perfect. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been for the potatoes and carrots in the curry to have been cooked longer. They were very hard to cut with the spoon. Service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely come back. read more

Incredible food!! My family was looking for a Thai restaurant on New Years and we stumbled on this place on Apple Maps. They gave us complimentary Thai tea for the holiday, and the family came out after the meal to make sure everything was great. The service was amazing, always checking in on us, and they were willing to get my younger brother white rice with tofu instead of anything on the menu. It is a calm environment with a family friendly feel. Great food, great service, great space, great owners. Definitely recommend Aroon to anyone in or around this part of Utah. read more

Wow! Best Thai food! New, cute little spot in Midvale. Authentic, must try. We got the shrimp pad Thai, and boat noodle. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes. We didn't bring our kids this time but, they have a super cute little kids table w/little chairs. Service was awesome, very attentive. Very friendly on the phone and in person. We ordered several dishes. I won't be going back. I'm a registered dietitian, so I look for healthy food. Been here about twice and the service is exceptional. The server is always so welcoming and checking up on us as needed. It's family owned and the food is all homestyle. Owned by brother and sister team, this place was a culinary delight! The red curry tasted homemade and had the perfect medium spice level. The boat noodle broth and thinly sliced beef was absolutely delicious. I loved how they served our chicken satay appetizer on a small bamboo float. This place is aesthetically pleasing and well kept. The chairs for all tables were a variety of sizes and shapes, but it all came together. Some seating were a bit narrow, so I await the awkwardness that may occur if someone of a larger size comes in and tries to sit down (the chair may go home with them). Water infused with a sharp taste of lemon was served. I found it quite delicious and refreshing. I ordered the "Khao Soi", which tasted like the Massaman curry with noodles instead of rice. The curry was very rich and sweet, I could not finish it all in one sitting. The addition of the strong raw onions placed on top kind of threw me off from the curry taste so I had to take it out ASAP. A very kind man served us and he was the only one serving everyone else. It seemed like he had too much to handle being the single waiter there, but he kept up such a lively, positive attitude. We were staying at Fairfield Inn next-door, and noticed this cute little Thai restaurant within walking distance. Upon arrival we noticed the seating was really nice, they even have these cute little tables for kids. The owner took a lot of pride in his work, we just grab some food for takeout, but while we were waiting he came out and gave us some water to drink that was including some lemon in it. The music is very pleasant in this place, and the food smells absolutely wonderful! The prices seem quite reasonable as well. read more

Clean, cute, yummy and SO welcoming. It was our first time visiting and we were welcomed and treated so nicely. They were happy to have us there. It seemed really authentic, but I'm no expert on that. The tom kha soup was delicious, full of mushrooms, fresh ginger and a few sweet cherry tomatoes. Chose medium spice and it was perfectly warming while being served piping hot! Even though there were already a number of customers the service and preparation was surprisingly fast. Within 15 minutes of ordering we received food. They also threw in a box of white rice for free. The rice was good quality, not mushy or hard. It really was a perfect lunch, we'll definitely return. Absolutely wonderful Thai food!! My husband and I have tried many Thai places in Salt Lake City and this is now our favorite and go-to. We had the papaya salad (amazing, ultra fresh), Kao Soi with Chicken Thigh (incredible sauce), and the Pad Ka Pao with beef (savory with just a light sweetness, if you're new to Thai its kind of like Thai meets BBQ). The decor is simple and really well done. The staff was so nice and accommodating. We're already talking about our next visit. Please go try this spot - you won't regret it!! read more
