I was hoping this place would break the cookie cutter recipes indian restaurants use, but it really doesnt. I tried a few dishes including butter chicken, dal makhani, chicken tandoori, lamb seekh kabob. I was pleasantly surprised with the dal, however, butter chicken should be renamed to "heavy cream chicken" here. It lacked flavor, tasted of heavy cream and had tasteless grilled chicken pieces. Being from india myself and knowing this place is run by a north indian chef, butter chicken is that one dish that could have defined this restaurant, but it was quite bad! Tandoori chicken was totally bland and had orange food coloring but had no seasoning to make it flavorful. Lamb seekh kebob was better. All in all 2.5-3star rating for food. read more

Came here for the lunch buffet. The saag paneer was the stand out. It was thick and creamy with a great flavor. The tandoori chicken was flavorful and tender and chutneys were also delicious. However, I felt like the chicken tikka masala and veggie korma were a little watery for my taste. The chow mein looked well seasoned, but I didn't like the flavor of that either, a little sour. I enjoyed the different biryanis. And I really enjoyed the garlic naan. They also have chai which was very nice. Took the boys here for the lunch buffet. When we arrived, there were only a couple of other people. The food was good, dessert was delicious, although my boys didn't care for the rice. My only gripe (not necessarily the fault of the restaurant) but a HUGE party of like 30 people came in for a birthday and it was total chaos. People were chatting in front of the buffet, standing in the walkways, and generally being loud and disrespectful. I wish the owner would have established a bit more order here (e.g. ask people not to chat in front of the buffet). Still, I'd come back and hope that a large group doesn't take over. read more

Unless you are going to Artesia, then this is just about the only Indian/Chinese food restaurant you are going to find. Don't expect that these flavors are going to be your standard Indian Restaurant fare you are used too. Think of Indian food with a bit of a twist. The use of spices is different, but in a good way. We just visited this restaurant for the first time since ownership has changed hands. Now known as Aroma Indian it is hands down the best Indian food we've had in the Valley, and weve tried most of them. We went for the lunch buffet, which we were so happy to see a wide variety of Vegetarian items. Goat and chicken items there as well for those who eat meat. The first happy note was that the buffet had mango kesari bat, something which was always a treat when we'd been in India. Among the vegetarian offerings were the kesari bath, samosas, veg pakora, dal makhani, soya aloo, saag paneer, veg korma, plain rice and tamarind rice. Chai and fresh onion and cucumber. Indo Chinese spiced veg noodles, perfectly cooked and nutty. Option of plain or garlic naan. Raita, mint and tamarind chutneys. Kheer for dessert. Each food was individually spiced and perfectly balanced. The chef came by our table to explain that they roast their own spices and make the spice blends fresh. You can taste the love and care taken in each bite! So, if you love Indian food or Nepali food, this is the place to go. read more

Wow, this place was SO good. The Indo-Chinese food is seriously next level, and the traditional Indian dishes were just as amazing. Everything had so much flavor and tasted genuinely authentic -- nothing felt like it had been changed or "fusion-ed" to appeal to a different palate. We've had Indian food in London, NYC, and India, and this was honestly right up there with some of the best we've had. The chef even came out to chat with us and was so kind and friendly. This is a hidden gem in a small strip mall on Topanga canyon. Don't let the modest appearance of this restaurant put you off. Prakash truly is a master chef that truly cares about his customers. The garlic Naan is fresh and warm. His goat curry is the very best in the entire valley! The spices and taste will have you asking for a second order. Myself and my friend went to Aroma Indian kitchen for the lunch buffet. We decided to get it to go because we needed to watch my dog at home. The restaurant is very pleasant inside, clean and nicely decorated. The person at the cash register was really friendly and helpful. I'm assuming he's the owner and we told him we wanted to get the buffet to go and he was really helpful and got us 'to go' boxes. We were able to order garlic naan which they made fresh and was absolutely wonderful. The buffet had a good amount of choices. Everything looked fresh and smelled wonderful. I got the tandoori chicken, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I normally don't eat dark meat, but this time I did and it was fabulous, juicy and having so much flavor. I also got chicken tikka masala, goat curry, and a nice rice dish with chicken. I can't remember the name of the other dishes I got, but a lot of them are vegetarian and they were very very tasty. There was lots of vegetarian choices to choose from, and they were all delicious with distinct unique flavors. I was very, very impressed with the selection and the taste. And, as if it couldn't get any better , they had my favorite dessert, Gulab jamun! Yum!! The Service at the restaurant was welcoming and sweet. The guy told us next time we come should try to sit and have lunch in the restaurant as we can go back again and again to the buffet. The food was delicious.
