When the Tulsi eatery on Nordhoff abruptly shuttered, I was both shocked and disappointed. Then after several months, I discovered, by accident, that the Tulsi Kitchen (related and dedicated for catering), on Devonshire, had recently opened for pick up orders. The vegetarian menu is limited, but almost the same, with the main hits, still in place. This place is open only for pick up, unless you are ready to order for catering (minimum order is 50 persons). This location is helmed by Owner and Executive Chef Jafar, a charismatic, friendy and talented people person. There are 3 other chefs, Jompet being one of them, also polite, who I encountered on already repeated visits. I once again enjoyed the pani puri shots and the superb medhu vadas (crisp on the outside, soft and delicious on the inside). The Bombay sandwich, a popular street food is a must. My order sat at home for hours before I ate, so my pictures may show a softer outside. It comes with a unique salad that has freshly ground pepper. Lovely and fresh. And the accompanying fries are done perfect and can beat any fast food drive thru. Their two curry combo, that comes with dahl tadka and rice is another hit. I had the mixed vegetable korma and eggplant. All the food tastes superb and the customer service is exceptional. Look out, I will be back soon.

Had an amazing experience at Tulsi and honestly, the food exceeded expectations. We tried the vada pav, pav bhaji, and sev puri, and each item was absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on, with the perfect level of spice that enhances the dish without overwhelming it. It genuinely reminded me of authentic Indian street food -- comforting, bold, and full of character. The vada pav was soft, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, the pav bhaji was rich, buttery, and packed with taste, and the sev puri was fresh, crunchy, and so satisfying. Everything tasted freshly made and carefully prepared. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. If you're looking for real Indian flavors that feel nostalgic and authentic, Tulsi is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend and will absolutely be returning!

Really good food, not a dine in restaurant but if you call they may have a table to seat a max of 6 . Call before you go. The chef is very passionate about food and serving you the best meal

The food here was absolutely delicious! Authentic Indian food that tasted yummy with the perfect amount of spice. Everything we ordered pleasantly surprised me! Including the chai which was one of the best chais I've had in a long time!! The people who work here are very nice as well! I had a great experience with my to go order here :)

So back to the all you can eat, ordered pakoras and batter was sour. Then followed up with dosa, same thing with sour batter which is over fermented. Infact ordered a second serving to make sure I wasn't just tasting it. It's reasonable to assume that Thursdays all you can eat are leftover combinations from weekend preps. In terms of service, gap between the servings was over 10-11 minutes, and at the second serving, desserts were brought out when not asked for. Chutneys: not served unless asked for. Everything was off. The floor manager walked over and hinted at us leaving; not asking how the food was but when are you leaving vibe. Ambience has been like it was pre Covid. Not many customers on a weekday but that is perhaps because of demographics in the area. Weird thing about them trying to kick us out was that the restaurant wasn't even crowded but maybe becuase costs from our table were maxed out. Oh yes they also had a vegetable biryani as an appratizer which was served without raita of course. Overall, the place used to be great. Maybe still is but opt to go on weekends when it's crowded and food is maybe fresh. Another thing about ownership being form north in a South Indian restaurant are subtle changes where sambhar gets a jeera tadka or aalu pallya gets vegetables like carrots and peas. Avoiding for 6 months or so.

Once you enter the restaurant, you'll notice that the inside won't win any beauty contests or score points for ambiance but the food here is delicious. My dad and I ordered a couple of egg rolls, a charbroiled beef with rice, and an extra large pho with rare steak, brisket and well done flank. The serving of pho was a generous amount that was befitting of the extra large portion. The broth was delicious and piping hot and I'm wishing I could have another bowl as I'm writing this review hours after having finished dinner there. The egg roll was delicious! The egg roll came with some mint leaves and that was such a great compliment of flavor when taking each bite of the egg roll. This was the first time a restaurant I've been to included mint leaves as a side to go with the egg roll and now I think I'm going to request that every time I order egg rolls anywhere else. The charbroiled beef with rice was good. It's a solid dish that deserves to be tried at least once and would be a fall back dish if you weren't looking to explore their extensive menu. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and the service here was very good.

Came in a little after 11, not very busy (The Vineyards tend to get very busy later in the day on weekends) I order a Spicy Watermelon Passion Fruit Agua Fresca - it was good, but the Watermelon was so overwhelming it was hard to taste the passionfruit. My mom had the breakfast tacos (not pictured) which she liked a lot, I had the avocado toast and added ahi tuna. The toast may look small at first, but was very rich and filling. I will say I was surprised to see the tuna in lox-like strips, but maybe that's because I'm used to ahi tuna either seared or in chunks poke style. All in all, a very nice experience. I think i wanna go back and try the pancakes.

It is family-run, and you may meet them all when you pick up your order - super friendly. But the most important thing to know is that the food is excellent, the portions are large, and they mash up a couple different kinds of cuisine in great ways. I had the chicken hakka noodles, which was sort of a Indian/Chinese dish withe terrific flavor. In fact I'm eating my leftovers now. My wife had the vegan combo, which was chana masala with rice, naan and raita. All were very good. We also got samosas and two Bombay Burgers, which was sort of like samosa filling on a hamburger bun with spicy topping. The total was just under $50 and we had plenty of food. The default spice level is medium - so remember to ask for mild if you need to (I had to scrape the topping off the Bombay burger - too much for me.) Or of course I';m sure they could make it hotter too! A great find, give them a try. Lots of other little mom and pop restaurants I can't wait to try there to try as well.

Very good and a must try! Add a bit of the Tikka Masala sauce on it - so good! Chicken Biryani $16.95 It was okay. On its own, it could have been more flavorful. Chicken Tikka Masala $16.95 You can pick spice level. Medium spice was just right. I love the bold flavor. Rich, creamy, tomato based and a little thick. Chicken was tender. The sauce is savory, tangy with slightly sweet notes. One of my favorite items! Tandoori Paneer $16.95 The aroma is amazing. Came with red bell peppers and onions. I didn't get so much of the smoky or char flavor. It had a firm texture, similar to firm tofu, but not slightly crumbly. It could be due to the size of paneer, which is more of a rectangle shape rather than cube shaped. Garlic Naan $3.50 Came with 2 pieces. They are soft, fluffy, and slightly chewy. Mild garlic flavor. Overall, they serve a diverse authentic menu, with vegetarian options. Prices are similar to Indian sit down restaurants but may be a bit more expensive from a ghost kitchen. Most of the food I have tried from our 2 visits were delicious! Indian homestyle comfort food in the San Fernando Valley. It's definitely worth a try!
