Stopped by desi vibes today for pre movie dinner and ordered the chow mein and paneer tacos! The food was amazing, would recommend it to anyone curious about indian food and the pricing is very affordable. The food was prepared fresh and came out very quick, the owner is also very friendly and recommends food based on your taste. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming ambiance.

They are very small food items. Not worth the price. I just visit today. Almost 10$ all. It's like a finger .

Really good homemade vegetarian Indian food. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that, I believe all the food is all at 1 spice level. If you only can eat mild spicy to light medium then this food will probably be too hot for you. Don't forget the sweets. They're delicious!!

As such, one cuisine (and there are more) that fits the bill is that from India. There are a plethora of restaurants in both the SFV and the Lost Angeles area, mainly centered around Northern cuisine. But tell me, do you know of one that is consistent in its delivery of memorable, hallmark dishes? Yes, there is a place in Canoga Park, called New India Palace. They serve a lunch buffet (11 am to 3 pm) daily, 7 days a week, that is unmatched, anywhere in these environs. It now runs at $14.99 plus tax, very reasonable, I might add, with a delicious selection of mouthwatering dishes. Recently, I found dahi vada (deep fried lentil donuts soaked in yoghurt and topped with chutneys and spices) as one of the selections (never seen that in any Indian buffet). It is one of my favorite Indian appetizers. And that too, it was superbly prepared. Their goat curry with aromatic brown gravy, goes well with the included freshly prepared naan (I chose the garlic version). There is chicken biriyani, pappar (fire roasted lentil and pepper wafers), yellow lentils (their version is fantastic), Saag (spinach) and aloo gobi (cauliflower and potatoes), to name a few. Chili chicken was okay, but the tandoori chicken came out dry, for both my pieces. Either way, this is not a knock down of this place. Overall, their Indian buffet food is the best in the Valley. And what about the service? Nothing short of exceptional.

New India Palace Indian has a panoply of appetizers, savories, chutneys, desserts where you go up and serve yourself. Where else can one get so much variety? They even had Papadum, fried, thin, crispy lentil flour crêpes. The braised goat, and chile chicken particularly had a satisfying meaty Umami, and subtle spicing while pairing a green, finely minced cilantro-chile chutney added a touch of piquant, green herbals and refreshed the palate. Also, big bang for your bucks, and where else can one get so much variety? Thanks Sheri for introducing stimulating South Asian cuisine to keep us from falling into a culinary rut. 4+ stars considering the amazing low price.

I personally love the chicken tikka, lamb meat samosa, and of course the naan bread ambiance- it's a nice dimly lit spot with plenty of seating , comfortable and nicely decorated service - the service has been nothing but short of amazing. They treat us like family always giving us a free mango lassi or sneaking in a side of naan in our delivery orders. We are so grateful for this amazing team and love coming back here every time.

Parking was aplenty in the front of the restaurant -- just a reminder that it's back in spaces only along Ventura. The decor was lovely and while the space was actually pretty large, it made it feel homey and welcoming. Our server was very nice and friendly and gave a great recommendation to a dish! The food was great - got an order of the vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, lamb rogan josh, mixed naan, and basmati rice, as well as mango lassi... YUM! Everything was absolutely delicious. My only gripe was that our server never asked us the spice level for our order and ended up with no spice in any of our dishes, so was a bit disappointed. I was ready for my face to be burned off! (Jk jk) Despite that, the food was wonderful - I definitely would be back if I'm in the area.

Make that 100 star review the food was extra spicy tonight and heartwarming to say the least. If you're hungry and you're able to handle some spice, this place is not to be missed. The service is always kind sweet polite, and the smiles. Keep you coming back again and again and again. You can sit there and dine or get it to go. Some special tips would be to ask to have Dhal on your rice. The onion badges are spectacular. I get the.Chana bhatura every time. Of course they have a dessert section and the sweets are good enough to rot your teeth and give your dentist business. Ambience's very cozy casual and I feel bad even sharing this because I don't want anyone else to know about this place. Yes this is my eighth review that I've remembered to give, but if I could come here every day, I wouldn't get sick of it.

I got the Chana Masala, Sahi Paneer and Aloo Beigan, comes with rice and onions as well as plain or seasoned yogurt, I got seasoned and Naan bread, garlic was my choice. If you get a 3 item, you also get a free little desert, Gajrela, which is grated carrots that are sautéed in Ghee, Milk and Cardamom. So tasty! Everything was excellent, my favorite in order of I hate to rate them would be the Sahi Paneer, Chana Masala and Aloo Beigan, but they were all great and I will be back to try other items. We also got 1/2 dozens Samosas, comes with two chutneys as well, yum!! Inside is bigger than it looks, a good amount of seating as well as some outdoor. The parking lot is also much larger than when you see it from the street, so you should be able to get a spot. This is a great find and one I would happily recommend to all to get some great food and deserts, eat there and take some home. Enjoy!

There are numerous chains of South Asian grocery stores (that carry food from many countries in…read morethat area of the globe). Some of them have hot cases, with fresh vegetarian food to go, or with a few tables, to dine in. Other stores are only for groceries. If you look around at numbers, this ethnic cohort, has the most locations in the SFV, Los Angeles, Simi and Thousand Oaks vicinities. Because of this, India Sweets and Spices, on Sherman Way and Topanga, is worth a trip.....to pick up ingredients, if and when I am in the mood to do some in house cooking :) This location also has a fresh vegetarian hot case every day, with several enticing, nutritious and tasty vegetarian selections of North Indian and South Indian food. There are also tables to dine in. On the grocery side, you can get some of these spices at supermarket chains like Ralph's, Vons, Whole Foods and the like. But none of these statewide chains will be able to come close or compete with these South Indian grocery establishments that are often, mom and pop joints. Supermarkets give you small quantities of spices for exorbitant prices. On the other hand, these smaller grocery stores have a very high degree of freshness, intoxicating fragrance, at a comparatively steal of a price in their products. And the smallest bag bought here, can last you for a long time. These are the places to go for superb intoxicating selections of turmeric, dried red chilies, fenugreek, fresh curry leaves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, coriander powder, paprika, cardamom, fennel, and the like. If you are fond of okra, the best quality and freshness is in these stores. They also have the smaller red onions. And try some of the vast array of packaged and unique snacks (one of my favorites is the salted fried green peas), when you're tired of eating all the brands of potato chips :)
