Ok, hard to wrap words around this place. Suffice it to say that I grew up living in Bangkok, Thailand between 1975-1984. I grew up eating Thai food everyday.
I know what is good and I know what is pretending to be Thai.
With that in mind, let me say it as plainly as I can, this place is awesome.
Since I am always traveling and therefore forced to eat out most of the time, I make it a point to find great food. Aroi Thai fits the description of awesome and authentic Thai.
The Tom yum soup was amazing. My wife always orders it whenever we eat at a Thai restaurant. I always try the soup but never order seconds. I had three servings there! It was that good.
The Som Tam (Thai papaya salad) is a must. I really could not tell the difference between their Som Tam and the Som Tam I ate as a kid growing up in Bangkok.
The Nam Tok is a Thai beef dish that is very hard to make. That is why most Thai restaurants don't even offer it. Aroi Thai makes it like any restaurant in Bangkok.
Their Thai fried rice (my personal favorite) was just amazing along with their Phad Thai.
If you are looking for any Thai food, pick up the phone book. There are dozens of Thai restaurants. If you are looking for authentic Thai, this is the place.
Just the humble opinion from a guy who grew up eating Thai food daily. Guarantee you that I will be eating at Aroi Thai when I drop by the Philippines again. read more
