Older Ford Ranger/high mileage pickup truck was dripping oil from the oil pan and possibly from the motor. I took it to Arnst Ocean Auto, Matt looked it over and added UV dye to check for possible other leaks in the engine after cleaning off the oil. He suggested since the trans. had to come out to remove the oil pan-(Ford), that I have the slave cylinder replaced since it's w/in the trans bell housing.... Matt made a good call as it was really worn which could have been bad had it failed. I made appointment for the work to be done. Matt took care to cover the seats with a blanket and a paper mat was placed on the floor even though I don't have carpeting, but my interior is clean. The mechanic, Lou checked for any other leaks, thankfully none found. Lou did a fantastic job. This was no easy job since many parts had to be removed just to get the trans and oil pan out. When done, he test drove it and rechecked for any leaks and re checked all new fluid levels. Lou was able to get this job done in one day! I was very Impressed! I was happy to take my truck home the same day. It even shifts smoother now. I can't say enough about Matt & Lou at Arnst Automotive in Delray Beach, I'm a fussy owner & was very happy with their work. Thanks guys! read more

Oh My Goodness! What? An auto mechanic you can actually trust? Yes, its true! Not only that, they are courteous, reasonable in pricing, helpful, efficient and, dare I say, a very funny family. (The funny antics in the office are just icing on an already great cake) The entire staff at Arnst Automotive have been so pleasant to deal with when ever I have stopped in for service or the emergency screw in my tire (Don't you hate it when that happens). Its refreshing to know that, as a customer, you are respected and the mechanics are there to help you, not just make a fast buck by up charging for unnecessary service. My first experience was simple. I had purchased a new "used" VW bug. It was in need of an oil change and there was a warning light that my tires were low (even though I checked the air pressure and found they were fine. My old mechanic said he couldn't work on a VW so off to Arnst. They serviced my car, reset the tire warning light and off I went. A few weeks later I ran over a screw. In a panic I called Arnst about 30 seconds after they opened and pleaded for help. Friendly and courteous they said bring her right over. After about 10 min chatting with and being entertained by the office, the mechanic came in and said no damage. The screw had not punctured the tire, it was just stuck in the tread. They sent me on my merry way. I trust Arnst. My husband will now be taking his car there for service. These guys are the real deal. read more

I just love these guys. I've been coming here for years. Yesterday my car's electrical died while I was driving in it. Somehow I was able to drive to their shop even though my power steering was off and the car was barely responding to me. After looking at it all day yesterday they realized it was just a fuse blown. My husband went and picked up the car today and they did not even charge him. I know a blown fuse does not cost much money but they spent their time looking over the car and figuring out the problem. Over the years they have proven themselves to be honest and reasonably priced. I don't know if they are the least expensive in town because I stopped going elsewhere. I used to bid-out work and shop around but in time I realized that I could trust they weren't charging me for any unnecessary work and gave me quality and peace of mind. These guys are great! Like seriously. I randomly on a whim decided I needed my breaks done, I was sure they were ready to be replaced. I called thinking they'd want me to make an appointment for a different day, but they told me to come in right away and they'd fix me up. I went and left my car, they called me an hour later and told me my breaks were perfectly fine, but I did need new tires. They quoted me a great price and we had it done. I love that they were honest and quick and didn't try to sell me the breaks I was so sure I needed. Great place. Great guys and Matthew even let my son help fix a light that came on on my dash. I thought I needed a rear main seal. It turns out I did not I just had some stuff that was loose causing the oil leak. So they tightend everything up and washed the engine. A lot of mechanics would have took advantage of that but not this place. I thought I was going to need to spend $800 but luckily they do not rip you off here. Great shop, I will return here next time my car has a problem. Car ended up dieing a few monthes later so I took it here cause I knew I could trust them to fix my car and not try to rip me off. They did a great job fixing my car and the car has been running good ever since. read more
