We ran our Bolt EV out of charge in the middle of the night just outside of Millerton, NY. They were knowledgeable about the right way to tow an EV and came out with a flatbed tow truck, advised us about checking the owners manual about how to put it into neutral, and got us dropped off at the charging station at Sharon, CT town hall. Not only did he charge me $200 to tow my car about 30 feet, He took a chainsaw out of my car And then locked my car and put a boot on it.. He says he took the chainsaw as collateral but if the doors are locked he must have taken it just as collateral or he was planning on taking it.. Another time when he was working on my car he put my car back together with all broken parts.. The ball joint and bearing had gone on the car so I had him pick it up to fix it and he put all the broken parts back together on it.. And then he tried to charge me about a $1000.. In January last year, the car alternator was broken, so I was recommended this place for aaa toeing.He grinds up not only alternators but also new batteries that are less than a year old without permission.And in less than a year, the alternator is broken. I called AAA's Toinka again and left the car at Arnold Garage.They also replace alternators and batteries.It's a new battery that's been less than a year, and even if you grind it, the battery that's been discharged once must be replaced and received and I paid again all the money.I had to change two alternators and two batteries in a year. read more

I took my car to this place for many years. Initially they provided high quality decently priced service. Unfortunately that drastically changed about four years ago. Not only did they begin to overcharge but also they started misleading their customers. They told me, for instance, that I needed a new battery when it was not needed. After bringing my car to a professional garage, I found that they had installed low quality brake pads on my car and therefore those pads deteriorated rapidly. Under no circumstances bring your car to Arnold's. If they tow your car or come to jump start it, be very wary. read more

Just to note I have not used their garage services. A friend and I were were about to leave to head back to her place and found oil leaking from the car and needed a tow. We got a great tow at 3am. If I could give no stars I would. Got into an accident and went off the road on Saturday. There was no damage to my car, I could have just driven away but the police said not to and they called Arnold's. They charged me $1000 for recovery and towing 10 mins away, changed their story of why they needed all of the trucks they called in multiple times, and told me my car wouldn't be able to make it back on the road even though my car was in best case scenario to be moved. When asked to figure out why I was being charged so much, he was rude, wouldn't let me speak, and walked away from my father after he said he had evidence from the accident site that his story didn't add up. WAY TOO OVER PRICED AND EXTREMELY RUDE. THIS GUY ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY. OH, AND NO ONE THERE IS FOLLOWING COVID PRECAUTIONS. NO MASKS WHEN IN CONTACT WITH CLIENTS, AND NO DISTANCING. Never again will I use Arnold's garage. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I made an appointment for my brakes to be changed. And ONLY my brakes. They assume that being a young female, I know nothing about cars or the way mechanic shops run. However, being the daughter of a mechanic, I know far more than the average person. What was supposed to cost me $75.00 for brakes, ended up costing me almost $400.00 because they took it upon themselves to do the rotors as well. The rotors had recently been done and absolutely did not need to be changed. When I asked the woman at the service desk why I wasn't contacted and they just took it upon themselves to do, she got up and walked away. Called AAA, had 2 hour wait time. Went outside at this time to wait for driver. 10 minutes later returned inside and had voicemail from driver. Called back, was told by driver that my address didn't exist (shows up on GPS) and my road wasn't plowed (just plowed). "I'm going home. I'm done. I'm not coming out." Explained I had no way to get home. He complained that he had been on hold with AAA for too long, had a long day, and refused to come to my location. I am now stranded with a dead battery and no way to get home. Lovely. read more

I've given them thousands of $$$$ , and unfortunately will not bring my truck to them again. They do good work, but over charge, and are in consistent with estimates. I was told by the owner the work would be between $700-$800 which I felt was fair considering they misdiagnosed water in fuel, when the problem was an injection pump not delivering fuel. MY BILL WAS $1450. This is NOT how you treat a customer !!! read more

Upon writing my review, I read the one other review about Arnold's Garage and I feel the same way. RIP OFF. We took two cars here in the same week and it was a complete WASTE of time and money. With the truck, I was told it would be about an hour, it ended up being 4-5 hours, and that wasn't even the cause of my frustration. ( as I understand the meaning of an estimate). The real problem was that I went in with one issue on the truck and came out with FIVE more. I am not an incompetent woman and know enough about cars to understand the verbiage. Leaving the mechanic with more than what you went in for is not the purpose of a mechanic. I was trying to support local, but found a much better team instead. If you need car repairs in the area, try Northwest Classic Cars in Limerock. REAL, HONEST people who are truly knowledgeable and care about YOU. I couldn't believe how much Northwest apologized for my experience with Arnold's and did everything they could to fix the issue with extremely minimal financial damage. I am very disappointed with Arnold's Garage, and would never take my car here again. read more

As of Friday, Arnold's garage will not take responsibility for the damage to our SUV caused by their drivers. With four witnesses too their spraying a can of starting fluid into a fuel injection vehicle. The drivers have lied to AAA,about what they have done. That's because they've caused hundreds of dollars in damage to our car. read more

Worst repair shop in the area by far. There are too many issues with this shop I don't know where to start. From the bumbling owner Arnold coming to you with the official diagnosis of "there's something funky with this car" to the idiot employees hitting on your girlfriend/wife when you step out to make a call.
