My original appointment was good, and the owner was nice (originally). I dropped off two dresses, one of which was my wedding gown. (Ignoring the second dress that is now too small) I paid $245 for clear, cheap buttons on my wedding dress bustle (which ended up being uneven and still dragging on one side). I was unaware these are apparently the buttons she uses on ALL wedding gown bustles, regardless of style or color. Upon calling her, the owner argued with me, refused any refund, and said it was unfair of me to go elsewhere without letting her replace them with the same plastic buttons, but black. It would have been a different story if she did not yell at me over the phone when I only requested a PARTIAL refund or matching buttons to be used. I will not be going back, especially due to the owner refusing to take responsibility and blaming me for going elsewhere.

My physical therapist says I should tell you about my experience with the owner. Another review…read morecommented on how things have changed. They have. My appointment was frustrating and disappointing, embarrassing and humiliating. The moment I walked in the door, they demanded my license and medical insurance. First thing! When I said that this visit was not covered, she projected across the store, loudly, "Not cancer." The mood changed. The owner then gave me a short interview, grabbed a bunch of bras, put in the fitting room and told me to go at my own pace, and call her when I needed help. NO MEASUREMENTS! After three unanswered calls for assistance, I put on the little robe they provided and went to look for her but the UPS man was right there! I ran back into the fitting room, gathered my things and went to find her. She immediately pawned me off on someone else and began helping another client. When the owner realized that I wasn't going to put several triple digit costing bras on an insurance, I was not worth her time. I seem to remember, I may be wrong but, in Amherst they gave a small discount to those without insurance. It didn't matter why we came to her. Wigs, compassion was all available years ago. A customer that returns over the years would spend as much as a cancer patient with insurance but I will never return. So if you don't have cancer insurance you will get better service at Macy's.

I was very very uncomfortable to find what I believe is the owners adolescent grandSON lurking in the store with his mother. There was NO WAY I was going to have a fitting with a teen boy in the room. I thought to make an appt and perhaps have privacy but the owner has no clue how uncomfortable the situation is. A reality check is in order. I realize it is summer but that young man's presence was an absolute deal breaker. Why isn't he out goofing with his friends instead of hanging with mom at the bra store? Really really weird. The lack of insight may keep me away in perpetuity.
