My sister and I had done extensive research on the rehabilitation for her care and decided that is where we wanted her to go for rehab. The admissions person Damon was very helpful in getting us a bed. He kept in constant contact with us and the hospital to follow up on my mom's hospital release date to help make it a smooth transition, and on Ingleside's end it was a smooth transition. After my mom was situated at Ingleside she constantly complained about stomach issues and nausea. The nursing staff followed up with their normal intake procedure but did not ignore my mom's medical concerns. They took extra care and time with her to make sure she would be ok and that she wasn't just experiencing a change of location issue. They discovered that she had a high fever and her pressure had dropped dramatically since she arrived and she began to vomit. The staff immediately contacted the WHC and my moms doctors to let them know she was still too ill to have been released and needed care immediately. Their professionalism and care saved my mothers life. I can not thank them enough for all that they have done. A year later my mom is doing extremely well. Had it not been for this facility it may have gone a different way.

My father's call button did not work; when he was discharged his prescriptions were submitted incorrectly and then canceled, so we had no way to access his critical medications; follow-up care, which was supposed to be arranged by them, was delayed by days. Importantly, as we tried to deal with this cascade of issues, no one answered the phone or would reply to an email. Completely irresponsible, and unworthy of the people who do the bulk of the labor there every day.

Mary the Sales Director gave me a tour of the building including a studio and 1-bedroom unit (beautiful big windows, great light, modern renovation), the gym and the great room. She also insisted I order from the lunch menu and meet the Chef. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to see a veggie burger on the menu and noticed the food choices appealed to a broad range of dietary preferences. At the end of my tour, Mary handed me the lunch I ordered (covid prevented me from dining onsite) that was packed in an insulated to-go lunch box, along with a side salad, a piece of cake and a water bottle. Honestly, I was ready to move in there myself. There is a Starbucks 1 block away and the gorgeous upper Northwest DC setting makes you feel like you're still part of the DC action while giving residents the services and amenities they may need. This is a no-brainer choice.

The entire bed, handles headboard, mattress had salvia embedded into the plastic We witnessed a patient in a wheelchair with bloody toes on both feet with a pair of dirty booties. He indicated that the nurse would not give him batteries for his hearing aid or stop the bleeding. Most importantly on the day of his arrival in order to receive care the social worker had our family to attest that Knollwood was his primary residence in order to receive payments from and to Medicare and Blue Cross. As of today it's been 5 months since leaving Knollwood continues to submit invoices for services to Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield and Knollwood continues to bill and is receiving payments. Knollwood presents itself as a prestigious rehabilitation facility but in fact patients that should be in memory care and acute long term care are put on the same floor as those who are short term rehabilitation care. How are they getting away with billing insurance companies and sending payments, both to a nonprofit and for profit company which all of Knollwood intake documents are specifically for Military Families Members While in Knollwood our family kept their outside doctors and upon leaving we were given a slip for his doctors to sign. We learned on the day we were leaving noticed that from our outside doctor evaluation reports were put on-transferred onto Knollwood treating doctors medical history and recorded as if Knollwood was the doctor treating our love one. As a caregiver having had to endure overwhelming pressure and with the staff of unqualified doctors and nurses, some that couldn't understand English did not give and correct dosages of medication and could not interpret the diagnosis therefore his medication prescribed was not given throughout the 21 days such that we received calls each morning to tell us that they were trying to kill him and because the three types of medications were to keep him alive. At the hands of Knollwood was something like a SYFI movie. The staffing communications were a joke and the conditions were horrific which caused a tremendous amount of anxiety.

I arrived 15 minutes early for my scheduled 11:30 AM interview and waited without any communication. After reaching out, I was told the interviewer was 'on the way,' however, she never showed up. Instead of acknowledging the situation, I was later told that their time was wasted, which was surprising given that I was early, punctual, and prepared. I understand that patient care comes first, but basic communication and respect for a candidate's time should still be maintained, especially in a leadership role. This experience reflects poor professionalism, lack of accountability, and disregard for others' time. I would not recommend applying here if you expect clear communication and respect. "Do not apply here proof is in the pudding!!!" Look at the times as well as she say two minutes which led to 25-30 extra weight time and she's rude to me?? I had pictures as well of the unprofessional behavior

My Honest Review of Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home…read more I am sharing this review based on my personal experience with Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home because I believe families deserve to know what they may encounter when choosing a facility for their loved ones. During my family member's stay, I witnessed several situations that were extremely concerning to me. At the front desk, I observed staff spending time on FaceTime while responsible for the front area. I also observed nursing staff remaining at the nursing station while call bells were ringing. On occasions when I checked on the situation, I witnessed call bells being silenced without staff immediately going to check on the resident. I was also deeply concerned by the length of time some residents appeared to remain in soiled conditions. I witnessed residents being left in urine and feces for what appeared to be extended periods. When concerns were raised, some CNA interactions were, in my experience, disrespectful and unprofessional. Asking questions about a loved one should not result in a family member feeling dismissed or spoken to disrespectfully. I also had concerns about other departments. In my experience, the dietary service was disappointing, including the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the kitchen. I found the housekeeping department to be poorly supplied and inconsistent in maintaining the environment. I also had negative experiences with the laundry department. Linens sometimes had visible stains, and there were occasions when washcloths and towels were not readily available. Leadership was another concern for me. I rarely saw the CEO in the building, while there appeared to be frequent requests for donations. From my perspective, I believe the priority should be making sure the residents currently living in the facility have the care, cleanliness, supplies, food, and attention they need. I also want to be clear that, based on my experience, I felt the facility operated better before the current administrator took over. Since that change in leadership, I personally feel that the quality and overall operation of the building have declined. Ultimately, I made the difficult decision to move my family member to another nursing facility. Since leaving Stoddard Baptist, my family member has been doing significantly better, which has only reinforced my decision. I am sharing this because choosing a nursing home is a major decision, and families should ask questions, visit more than once, observe how residents are treated, and pay attention to cleanliness, staffing, communication, food service, and overall responsiveness. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home to families considering a facility for their loved ones. Please do your research and visit the facility yourself before making such an important decision.

The Nurses here are all welcoming and .proficient front desk is also very helpful get number to wellness center so you can talk to nursing or even text. It's very important you take an active role in their care or if there is poa they must get involved I have been amazed at learning of conversations I'm told I have hadthat never occurred with people who don't regularly work here and I was gas lighted and told it happened by nursing" leadership" my memory is better than most here. But I'm still told things happened that have not and cannot fight back as this mysterious person does not work here regularly I said I wanted a meeting to meet this person other details not significant to post. So there is good and very bad leading the show and it's obvious in the neglect of the obvious poas not brought in for more serious issues. I guess we all will wait for something bad to happen for action to occur which is what nursing leadership should be preaching and teaching. Stay aware!! Ps their site lies outright there is no 24/7 nursing nurse disappears from five to eleven pm don't get sick or fall during those hours like I did I had to wait two hours to see if I could walk ( barely) to my room a nice care manager brought me ice that was all I got. Had very bad sprain got both ankles damaged on property and no follow up.
