Over the last 10 years I have spent $10,000 plus dollars of our hard earned retirement money…read morefalsely believing that Miracle Ear was the king of the hill. As it turns out we just didn't know any better. the big corporate names all seem to use the same marketing protocol. We had no idea what real ear measures even meant or looked like when being fitted for new aids. The results were very disappointing because we expected new aids to fix my problem. They did not! We actually stumbled across Dr. Zenker's while being in the same building for cataract surgery two years ago. Long story made short he is extremely knowledgeable and committed to doing the right thing for each patient. We purchased hearing aids had them fitted the correct way by Dr. Zenker. My molds fit perfectly very comfortable and more importantly the fitting the doctor did using Real Ear measures made all the difference in the world as to the results, which were fantastic not just hearing, but better, better control better, comfort better comprehension. It was like the difference between a poorly tuned engine and one that is perfectly tuned. I feel as though I probably didn't need the second set of new hearing aids from Miracle Ear, I just needed the first pair installed correctly and tuned correctly. How real ear measures are not known about worldwide is astounding to me given how well they work and are used by real Doctors of Audiology!! If you are in need of hearing aid, help of any kind I can tell you that Dr George Zenker is a real doctor of audiology and you should get to his office if you can. P.S. We are both seniors approaching 80 years and do not typically do reviews and I can only remember one other time when we did. P.S.S. This new set of hearing aids properly installed by Dr Zenker and working fantastic were $1500 less than Miracle Ear! Good luck, The Francis's of Mc Millan Michigan and Hayesville North Carolina.

Some years back my mother ("Little" Dorothy Rogers - previously Director of Medical Records at WMH)…read morewas experiencing headaches and could not remember basic recipes. I took her to the ED at WMH in Sault MI where testing was performed. Mom was diagnosed with a, "Small Stroke" (direct quote). She remained in WMH for a couple days and during that time was "examined" by an "on call" physician and her primary care physician. Those two "concurred" with the original diagnosis and mom was placed in occupational therapy. A couple weeks later I received a phone call from my youngest sister (Evelyn), an RN at Mt. Sinai in New York - "Randy, I talk to mom daily and she is not responding like any stroke patient I've ever worked with. We need a second opinion." I immediately began transferring mom to Dr. Chander (my physician). About one week later Dr. Chander reviewed documents and the scan that was performed at WMH. Prior to even meeting mom he said, "I don't think it was a stroke." He ordered an MRI which revealed a large Glioblastoma (about 3 inches x 1.5 inches when centimeters are converted to inches). Mom went by ambulance to Petoskey where a more detailed MRI was performed revealing the large, gray mass but with tentacles well involved with her brain. A biopsy determined the mass was cancerous. Bottom line: Mom received radiation therapy in Petoskey, with the goal to buy her a few extra months with family before passing away. A tragedy! Mom was very loyal to her long time physician but did not balk when transferred to Dr. Chander as, "Dr. ______________ was not listening to me." Would the results have been different if Dr. Chander had been her primary care physician? Very possibly. Our oldest daughter (Kristin), a long time NP in Wisconsin, who has met and spoken with Dr. Chander numerous times over 15 years said: "If Dr. Chander ever retires, you two will have to move from the Soo." Dr. Chander is a "Water Walker". His commitment, intelligence and personality cannot be equaled. His recent treatment by MyMich is reprehensible and absolutely unforgivable. If Karma exists, the powers that be at MyMich will rue the day it was decided to grievously abuse Dr. Thilak Chander. A glaring example of Corporate Medicine at its "best" (a word dripping with sarcasm). Randy and Bonnie Rogers Brimley MI 9/15/2026

WMH has a lab draw in his office daily from 10-noon, too. Office staff is always willing to help and you actually feel like they care about you as a person, not just a patient.
