The service can be hit and miss. The trading prices offered are extremely low. I would never recommend trying to get a trade-in with this store. They give you pennies to the dollar. A couple of folks are working. There can also have a very hit and miss attitude I would definitely recommend either Academy sports if you're not looking for anything exotic. Range USA have a friendly team and they gave a reasonable deal on trading guns. Much better than Arms Fair ever could be. Well, I understand businesses need to make decisions on trade-ins. I just went in for my second NFA purchase of 2 silencers and to convert a couple weapons to sbr. They make the background check seamless. It is now all digital and they do the finger prints and passport pics at the store. They do digital submission which does decrease the wait time. These guys know their stuff. They are always polite and responsive. As far as the bad reviews given here, it's like these people are shopping at a different store. I wouldn't, in a million years, normally review a gun store. I walked in here on a whim, thinking, 'Oh, is this a medieval decor store?' Der. Nope, it's a gun shop. And, while I'll say it's probably a 'good' selection of guns as far as that sort of thing goes -- they do offer additional arms, such as paintball guns, camping supplies, and (and I think this is great) some self-defense arms, such as stun guns and pepper spray. What I found was cheerful and courteous salespeople-even though my gun has just arrived to their store the night before. I've been a long time customer of a larger local store, but I haven't gone back since I discovered Arms-Fair. I'm always welcomed with a warm hello, and immediately asked"what can I do for you?". The store is clean and orderly. The customer service reps take time to explain things to you. The people complaining about a fifteen minute wait might want to take this into consideration, because they will give you the same undivided attention when they serve you without the condescending attitude that you get a the larger stores in the area. Yes, they are a smaller store, but they make up for it in customer service and quality products. I've had no problems with transfers. I understand that a store may prefer to sell their products versus doing a transfer. For that reason, I always purchase something else, usually another gun or a hundred dollars or more in accessories. This is my favorite store in the area. read more

I've visited several times for help with some maintenance issues. The gunsmith here is top notch. He was able To resolve the issues I had when another shop (classic arms) was unable. They are busy, but they treat everyone with respect and will spend the time required with all customers. My wife and i went here today. We were helped by Andy and Mike. First off. The level of customer service was outstanding. Anyone saying poor customer service is not shopping at Arms fair in cordova. No way possible. I went to buy one gun. Our first gun ever. I ended up buying 2. One for my wife and one for myself. My wife was afraid of the idea of a gun until Mike showed her an amazing .22 she was comfortable with. he went out of his way, not trying to make a sale or being pushy and rude, but he went out of his way to make my wife feel comfortable. If i could have tipped him i would have! After deciding to get 2 guns, Andy spent a nice amount of time showcasing and describing everything to my wife. This was without a doubt solid service. Also within 30 seconds we were greeted when we came in. I already told my cousin to come check out this place! Any business I can send them I will, and for one main reason. I was not treated poorly. I only had an idea of what i wanted but he must have spent 30 minutes showing me different firearms before i decided. I gave this location three chances to make a new customer. They have failed. On the first visit I went in to check out the location and their inventory. They have a limited selection of guns and accessories which would not be as much of a problem if they at least had good customer service. I was in the shop for about 20 minutes and was never asked if I needed any help. I left the shop having not spoken with any of the several people that were working that day even though the shop was almost empty. I gave them some consideration that it might have been an off day and went a second time to get a holster. After looking around at all they had to offer and pulling a few off the wall to check on quality, even opening some of the boxes, I finally had to go ask for some help. It took more than 15 minutes just to get someone to help me and they were never very polite. I ended up buying the holster anyway. It was not overly expensive, but not a good deal either. On my third visit I came in to return the holster as it did not fit the handgun as they stated it would. That tells you what good the customer service did me on my previous visit. Upon trying to return an item I bought off the shelf they told me there would be a 20% restocking fee. This was absolutely absurd. I bought it off the shelf, they did not order it for me. After about 10 minutes of arguing with them about it, the owner finally came out and said they would waive the restocking fee this time. Well, they don't have to worry about a next time because I will never be back. I highly suggest that you find another gun shop to go to for any of your needs. This was my second visit to Arms Fair. I'll admit this visit was better then my first but it's still hard to say they are worthy of two stars. At least I was acknowledged this visit which was a relief. Today while I was in the store a customer called them regarding a gun transfer to the store. I was shocked to hear how the employee spoke to the customer! It was even worse when he hung the phone up. His words were "I could care less about his damn gun transfer". I immediately expected the older gentleman to say something to the employee but he said nothing! If one of my employees EVER spoke to a customer like that I would go into damage control. My second time in here. I ordered a rifle online and had it delivered to them to do the background check and transfer. It was delivered several days ago so I stopped by to pick it up. When I asked about it the answer I got was "Did you receive a call from us?" I said no, but UPS delivered it two days ago and I was nearby. I frequent all the local gun stores, Guns & Ammo, Arms Fair and Tactical Investments in Collierville. All three of these stores and their staff are top notch. To all of the cry babies on the other bad reviews, don't expect anyone to be happy to spend much time with you on your $20 transfer fee. It's basically a slap in the face to the store owners who pay high rent for them to be able to offer you a brick and mortar store to come buy what you need immediately, and you cut them out of the sale to save $20-40$ from some online deal you found. Also, don't cry when they let you look through their store without asking you if you need help like some car salesman. If you need help, ask for it and I'm sure they would be happy to help you. This is a small shop. I don't begrudge them for being small and having a small inventory, my issue is that they list "gun transfers" as a service on the website but leave out very important information. They do no want to transfer guns for you. They go out of their way to insure they are the most expensive possible way for you to ship a gun to another location...but they do not tell you this on the website, nor on the phone. After speaking with the owner on the phone he said it would be a $30 transfer charge. I got my paperwork in order and brought the gun to the shop only to be told by the employee "You know it'll be cheaper for you to do this yourself, don't you?" He then suggested I just drop the gun in a box and mail it myself. I informed the guy that would be against the law, since a non-licensed person can't ship a gun via the post office. It would be a blatant violation of Federal Law. I further explained that's the reason I'm standing in front of him. He...a licensed dealer CAN ship by USPS and it's a much cheaper way to do it. He then said they don't use the post office, they only use FedEx. It was a large waste of time. If the owner had simply told me on the phone "we only ship by FedEx" it would have saved me a lot of time. As it is, I took off early from work to get there, ran all over town getting the stuff I needed (i.e. the gun and paperwork) only to be told at their counter "You know it'll be cheaper if you just do it yourself, don't you?" So, my message to Arms Fair is that if you don't support the customer, the customer won't support you. I buy a lot of guns, but I will not buy one from you in the future, you've already wasted more of my time than I can recover. Either tell people up front that you only ship via the most expensive route possible or quit advertising the service. To do any less is very poor customer service. read more

I've been to the store a few times now. They have everything I need. If not, they know how to get it or where I can get it. The staff is helpful and knowledgable. This is all I need in a gun store simple as that. The selection is dynamic. This is a good place to practical defensive weapons. Thousands of different types of firearms are available, most of which are not very useful in day to day life. That is to say, I don't need some rare .22 lever action of whatever for my daily carry use. Reading some of the other reviews, I have to say there are some real bitches out there. Who buys a holster without bringing you gun anyway? And what is it with the need to be coddled? Maybe they would feel better if participation trophies were handed out at the door lol! Man up people.
