l I was excited to try Armoire, but my first shipment was disappointing. The items arrived with visible stains marked by red tape, and the packaging used cooking twine, which felt unprofessional. While the quality of the pieces was okay, the clothes appeared over-washed, with fabrics that felt worn and beaten up. I requested a refund due to these issues, but I haven't received any response. I've tried both calling and emailing, but no one has gotten back to me. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and is far from the level of service I expected from a rental service. Since starting my Armoire membership 2 years ago, my life has been upgraded in so many ways: 1. Confidence boost - I used to dread getting dressed, but now I have so much fun with my outfits. Armoire gives me a constantly evolving wardrobe of trendy pieces for every occasion in my life (weddings, work, dinner with friends, etc.). 2. Sustainable fashion - rather than buying clothes that I'll only wear once, I can rent these types of items, knowing they'll be enjoyed by others. I am a HUGE fan of Armoire. I love clothes, hate shopping and want to be more sustainable in my life in general. i have been using the service for 2.5 years and for the first year I made a vow not to purchase any clothes for those 12 months. it felt great. all that aside, i LOVE being able to wear something for awhile and then just return it for something else. also, i have so many dresses hanging in my closet that i had purchased for an event and then never wore again. now i just get something special from Armoire and save money and the planet at the same time! I have no trouble finding pieces that I like, and have created a great system for saving items in the app for the future. i have rented a variety of items -- many of them at a price point above what i would normally spend. and it has given me the opportunity to try new styles and see what works on my ever-changing menopause body! the service has alway been great and the response time is short! finally, i love the fact that people post useful reviews of each item and post pictures of REAL people, not skinny models. and that you can see what works for people who have similar body types. read more

My sister-in-law raved about this service multiple times, but I was a skeptic. How does a rental clothing service even work? Isn't it weird wearing used clothes? How will I get items that I like? And then they had a special I couldn't resist, so I tried it for a month and now I am hooked. How it works: You get 4 pieces of clothing at a time, but you can exchange via mail or in-person at one of the two store locations (this one listed here in Seattle and one in Kirkland) as much as you want. There are tons of options from jeans to dresses to outerwear and lots of tops/sweaters/blazers. No accessories at this time. You get a virtual closet to choose your items from and you can customize by picking the item type, the occasion and you can also save items to favorites or mark that you dislike them and never want to see them again. Armoire takes care of all the drycleaning, so you wear the item and then send it back. Easy peasy! The Clothes: Lots of amazing brands. Think stuff from Nordstrom like Paige, BB Dakota, Helmut Lang, French Connection. Right now I am loving the yummy sweaters and fun pants. I have been impressed with the condition of the items as well, most of the items I have received look new and when you return there is an option to mark if an item is imperfect and why. Armoire is an amazing service that lets me try different clothes at any rate I'd like. I rotate through work-friendly clothes quickly, wearing each item to work once and then shipping back, and tend to hang on to the weekend wear clothes for longer, wearing them many times before returning. The built-in dry-cleaning allows me to have a toddler and wear white sometimes which is incredible. I am finding fancy styles of jeans that fit so well that I am going to start buying some from Armoire. My favorite part is that the rental service allows me to step outside of my traditional choices and try something new. I once was wearing a brightly patterned Diane Furstenberg shirt, something very different than my usual dark, solid top and was asked if I was going to Hawaii or Japan in my new outfit. I never would have thought I'd fall in love with a pin-striped jumpsuit! What I enjoy most about Armoire is that you get to rent your wardrobe - so you can try outlandish outfits and wear them once or twice and not feel bad about "fast fashion" consumerism. This is an affordable option to access high-end runaway designs that I personally could never permanently purchase. I have so much fun changing my appearance seasonally (and weekly!) and expressing myself with clothing. I never thought I'd ever do a rental subscription, but it's really more like borrowing beautiful clothing from your fashion-model sister's closet. The people are also super supportive, friendly, and helpful if you have a fashion challenge to overcome.
