Review is on gym services only…read more Been a member for a while now and had stop coming due to a busy work / life schedule. Been back for about a week now. There is definitely more people and it is most likely due to kids being off for the summer. Nothing added since I have been away. The fees did increase a while ago. I will add that it is getting a bit messy. 3 out of the 5-days, there have been no paper towels in the men's restroom. Paper towels are essential for sanitary reasons. The gym gets a bit messy and peeps are not always wiping down equipment after use, so sweat is clearly visible. Perhaps they could implement periodic daily inspections to ensure a well keep environment. If they have a program in place, then perhaps ensure follow through. Staff is typically friendly and welcoming upon entry and exit with a few that pay no attention to your existence and are in their own world. All in all it is still a convenient place to work out, but as fees increase so should the up keep of the facility.

After the fire crisis I saw they posted something saying 'if your in need of food or household items message us or dm us" I did both...more then once (trying to set something up) and it was impossible. Clearly if people are in need, they are going to reach out to these organizations to see if they can help..but I just felt like I was begging and being an inconvenience with the way I was responded to when I told them I didn't have a way to get there. I even had 2 large bags of donations to give and I let them know...they never came to pick them up (but said they would). I originally was happy to have found something like this because I'm disabled and don't have a car so it's hard for me to get around, I'm not from LA either so it's not easy for me to take public transportation. Hopefully everyone else can receive services they promote and not feel like a bother. Im very hurt by looking at the past reviews and how easy it was for others to receive food deliveries "the same day" or "promptly". I feel discriminated against and like I was lied to and blown off.

Great place to donate items. I called beforehand and made sure that they were open and was able to…read moredonate stuff. The whole process was easy. You enter through their garage, where a friendly security guard helps guide you through the process. They also provide donation receipts if needed. They accept almost everything, including men's and women's clothing, books, shoes, and unbroken kitchenware. The only items they don't accept are children's clothing. The security guard let us know that the donations go directly to people experiencing homelessness, and there is also a women's recovery center upstairs that many of the items support. It feels much better donating here compared to street donation bins that often get tampered with. Highly recommend donating here if you're looking for a meaningful place to give back and wanting to donate your items.

I got in contact with the right…read moreperson and began to strategize on a schedule and I was communicative with appropriate time too but conflicts began to occur. I had a scheduled volunteer day and time and woke up on time to go and i texted POC to confirm and they told me that the other volunteer wouldn't be in (if i didnt confirm with a text i probably would have shown up without notice) and i reached out to schedule another day and received no word. I would say i am fairly patient and understanding person with rescues because they are so busy but i would recommend for this rescue to have a dedicated staff member to help volunteers and have a calendar put together and just be better organized. I unfortunately wont be volunteering here anymore. They are doing good work but im bummed because i did want to volunteer here but as a person that values organization it just didnt fit.

My kids and I have volunteered for many years at this food bank. It is a lifeline for so many…read morepeople in need in our community. It's incredible how much food they distribute and how many families they help. I see on their social media how they give holiday gifts to children in need, help with back to school supplies and vouchers, dental cleanings, vet clinics, mobile showers and so much more. Manyof the people who work here are volunteers, and even the paid staff don't earn much - I know of some who have been past clients wanting to give back. I have seen the faces of gratitude of some of the clients who come here for help. Whenever I come here I have a renewed sense of faith in human kindness and generosity, seeing the impact this organization has and the generosity of so many volunteers and donors, trying to help those who need it most. I'm sad reading some of the negative reviews. I also imagine people are quicker to complain on yelp even for free services than to show their appreciation. I also understand it must be truly frustrating for people who are hungry and/or struggling to survive to have patience when things don't go smoothly as life is already so difficult to bear, I'm so sorry for what you are dealing with. But I truly believe that the people working at Foothill Unity are doing their best within the constraints or limited resources they have and that they are also dealing with tough and stressful situations all day. I think it is unrealistic to expect a charity that is dependent on volunteers and has limited resources to be a well-oiled machine. In my interactions with those who work there, I believe they are doing the best they can, and I am inspired by all the amazing things they do.

Since we made about 90 kits, she figured it would be best for us to deliver them to an organization that assists those in need, and she found Foothill Unity Center. Foothill Unity Center is a multi-service agency that provides services to individuals and families in need. Founded in 1980 by Josephine Anderson, the center has become a source for food, health services, and crisis assistance to thousands of low-income families in the SGV. The place is clean and spacious and the staff were friendly and gracious for our donation. It felt nice to do something good for others and give back to the community. The security guard on duty was an absolute doll - polite, friendly, and respectful. He made our day as much as we made his. They accept donations of any kind and you can drop off during business hours 8 am - 4:30 pm Mon - Fri.
