Nikki B and I donated over 100 bags we made full of shampoos, soaps, shavers etc collected from trips and they will pass out

NIKKI B And I came here and we donated multiple bags of apothecary that we had put together that included various shampoo's, soap's, etc. This establishment helps families with food and various types of apothecary that they need to survive during hard times. Please donate. I forgot the security guard in the front his name but he is very nice and was extremely welcoming.

COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All individuals are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are no hand sanitizers available for people to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between people. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. No one parks here anyways because it is a drive through food bank. The volunteers, like me, will bring food out to you while you wait in the car. Staff: The staff here are very nice, friendly, and passionate about the volunteer work.

Support your local non-profits! We always have to remember to give back to our local community. This non-profit accepts donations of all-kinds! So before you throw away your clothes or canned food, consider this place first. I volunteered for Thanksgiving at an event held at their HQ. The event was pretty organized and the people that work here are passionate about giving back to the less fortunate. My role for this event was to walk people down the produce line and help them fill their bag with goods to cook a Thanksgiving dinner at home. Some people even came up to me crying, super thankful to be receiving this from Foothill Unity Center. It was so heartwarming to see this and made me realized that sometimes we really do get carried away with our daily lives. Check out their site and/or sign up for their newsletter to stay updated with volunteer events they have happening.

Amazing team and volunteer group working hard to provide resources to the community. We had the opportunity to bring our team here to volunteer with prepping and processing and distribution. I can see the heart of this place. I got to work with experienced volunteers who clearly care so deeply and have deep wells of knowledge and care for their clients. Thank you for serving and for allowing us to learn from you.

If you are a fan of the Huntington Collection in Pasadena, you'll be sure to love the Bargain Box. Just like the Huntington Collection, I can't call it a thrift shop since it's not like any thrift shops I've been to! Looks more like an expensive antique shop when you step inside. I was blown away by the quality of the available merchandise, especially the housewares and decor. It's very evident that all of the pieces on sale were meticulously cleaned and staged by the hardworking staff. All of the furniture and housewares are excellent condition, not to mention very well priced. Make a point to visit before Halloween! The store is all decked out with Halloween decor! The Bargain Box is managed by the Assistance League of Arcadia, and one of their worthy endeavors is Operation School Bell, which provides much needed clothing as well as school supplies such as backpacks and books to children in need in neighboring local schools. There's a small parking lot but there should be plenty of street parking available if needed. Also, be aware that the store has limited hours since it's managed by volunteers. It's only open two days a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 1pm.

Clothing, jewelry, books...they carry a little bit of everything here. I enjoy browsing the racks and shelves even when I leave empty handed. Good to know: They are only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I suggest subscribing to their email list so you know the weekly happenings before you visit. The lot is on the smaller side and it fills up pretty quickly. There is plenty of street parking on Live Oak, but that also fills up on Wednesdays. If you arrive a little before opening there is usually a short line outside to get in, but there is never a mad rush to get in or anything, so don't let the line scare you away!

I was really excited to bring my toddler here because she loves indoor playgrounds/children's…read moremuseums. This place is huge but it is chaotic (I went on a Sunday morning). There were a lot of different areas but it was hard for my daughter to actually do anything because the areas were packed and a lot of the items were missing from the areas due to kids moving them around. That's understandable -kids will be kids- but because there were so many kids the staff couldn't keep up with putting the items back in the designated areas. For example, we went to the "mail room" there was literally no mail in it. We went to the tool/building area and there were literally no tools and not enough building materials to build anything. This was pretty much every area we went to. The amount of kids also made it super overstimulating for my daughter. Normally when we go to these kinds of places it's calm and she is actually able to learn, play, interact etc. Lastly, it's expensive. Normally when we go to these kinds of places an adult is included when paying for a child to enter. Here, you have to pay for an adult and child ticket - so it was 44$ for the both of us. Totally not worth the price when it is so overrun.
