Review is on gym services only…read more Been a member for a while now and had stop coming due to a busy work / life schedule. Been back for about a week now. There is definitely more people and it is most likely due to kids being off for the summer. Nothing added since I have been away. The fees did increase a while ago. I will add that it is getting a bit messy. 3 out of the 5-days, there have been no paper towels in the men's restroom. Paper towels are essential for sanitary reasons. The gym gets a bit messy and peeps are not always wiping down equipment after use, so sweat is clearly visible. Perhaps they could implement periodic daily inspections to ensure a well keep environment. If they have a program in place, then perhaps ensure follow through. Staff is typically friendly and welcoming upon entry and exit with a few that pay no attention to your existence and are in their own world. All in all it is still a convenient place to work out, but as fees increase so should the up keep of the facility.

I'm very hurt with my last few interactions with this company..I inquired for different services,…read morethey claim to offer on thier social media and thier website and I felt like I was getting the run around and not given the full information or details. I do appreciate that they gave me a 40$ laundry card...when I went back to the laundry mat it was permanently closed. So I messaged the company to see what's going on and she responded with "the laundrymat is closed indefinitely, but I'll see what else we can offer you to wash". I never got an update for this.. I had to message them and ask again to find out that they no longer offer this.(glad i didnt hold my breath.) After the fire crisis I saw they posted something saying 'if your in need of food or household items message us or dm us" I did both...more then once (trying to set something up) and it was impossible. Clearly if people are in need, they are going to reach out to these organizations to see if they can help..but I just felt like I was begging and being an inconvenience with the way I was responded to when I told them I didn't have a way to get there. I even had 2 large bags of donations to give and I let them know...they never came to pick them up (but said they would). I originally was happy to have found something like this because I'm disabled and don't have a car so it's hard for me to get around, I'm not from LA either so it's not easy for me to take public transportation. Hopefully everyone else can receive services they promote and not feel like a bother. Im very hurt by looking at the past reviews and how easy it was for others to receive food deliveries "the same day" or "promptly". I feel discriminated against and like I was lied to and blown off.

You enter through their garage, where a friendly security guard helps guide you through the process. They also provide donation receipts if needed. They accept almost everything, including men's and women's clothing, books, shoes, and unbroken kitchenware. The only items they don't accept are children's clothing. The security guard let us know that the donations go directly to people experiencing homelessness, and there is also a women's recovery center upstairs that many of the items support. It feels much better donating here compared to street donation bins that often get tampered with. Highly recommend donating here if you're looking for a meaningful place to give back and wanting to donate your items.

I had a scheduled volunteer day and time and woke up on time to go and i texted POC to confirm and they told me that the other volunteer wouldn't be in (if i didnt confirm with a text i probably would have shown up without notice) and i reached out to schedule another day and received no word. I would say i am fairly patient and understanding person with rescues because they are so busy but i would recommend for this rescue to have a dedicated staff member to help volunteers and have a calendar put together and just be better organized. I unfortunately wont be volunteering here anymore. They are doing good work but im bummed because i did want to volunteer here but as a person that values organization it just didnt fit.

There's probably reason that they didn't pick you. A lot of pet need special care or particular family and can't go with just anyone. (Example, some pets are not good with kids). Remember this is a rescue and not a breeder. If they try so hard to save an animal, they don't want the chance for the pets to be returned/dumped if the family find out it's not a good fit. I understand people might not be happy since they are not qualified but didn't need to leave a bad review just for that...after all we all love animals and just want them to find a good home to live happily ever after. We adopted two cuties today, they are a bonded pair, so rescue really want them to go as a pair. Most people only applied adoption for 1 cat, so we got selected. The rescue does everything in animal best interest, and thank you for giving us a chance and two beautiful kittens.

It's incredible how much food they distribute and how many families they help. I see on their social media how they give holiday gifts to children in need, help with back to school supplies and vouchers, dental cleanings, vet clinics, mobile showers and so much more. Manyof the people who work here are volunteers, and even the paid staff don't earn much - I know of some who have been past clients wanting to give back. I have seen the faces of gratitude of some of the clients who come here for help. Whenever I come here I have a renewed sense of faith in human kindness and generosity, seeing the impact this organization has and the generosity of so many volunteers and donors, trying to help those who need it most. I'm sad reading some of the negative reviews. I also imagine people are quicker to complain on yelp even for free services than to show their appreciation. I also understand it must be truly frustrating for people who are hungry and/or struggling to survive to have patience when things don't go smoothly as life is already so difficult to bear, I'm so sorry for what you are dealing with. But I truly believe that the people working at Foothill Unity are doing their best within the constraints or limited resources they have and that they are also dealing with tough and stressful situations all day. I think it is unrealistic to expect a charity that is dependent on volunteers and has limited resources to be a well-oiled machine. In my interactions with those who work there, I believe they are doing the best they can, and I am inspired by all the amazing things they do.
