I went here about two years ago and majorly regretted it. Went in as a new patient and made sure to get quotes for everything. they overcharged me and we had to go back and forth for a while before I finally gave up. Money issues aside, they also cause me a lot of unnecessary pain. they took my wisdom teeth out and refused to give me anything for pain management. I asked several times, borderline begged, and they just said to take Tylenol. Once the local anesthetic wore off, it was hell. I bled a lot, was super swollen, and the Tylenol did absol nothing. I would not have allowed them to remove my teeth if I had known they were going to basically torture me. The dentist and another employee who got me to come in the same morning since I had a fractured tooth and I was in so much pain were super lovely and very understanding! On the other hand, the lady helping the dentist and preparing before the dentist came in was nice... but I feel like she needs more training. It took a long to do a simple scan, and my mouth was hurting so much opening and closing. Before that, I think they need to be more sanitary... they touch the monitors with their gloves on and then touch your mouth, which I feel is unsanitary and disgusting. I have a mental disorder called OCD, I am the germaphobic type, and I was having a little crisis internally. I did ask for the gloves to be changed, which happened. But they still touch everything and put your fingers inside your mouth after. I don't believe this office is really cleaned. While in the process of removing my fractured tooth, half of it fell, and I almost choke on it. I'm not sure if the assistant did not use the right tool or something. But that was a little scary. I hate to leave a negative review for a small business, but I have chosen to leave this office after attending since 2019 or 2020. I initially loved this office and all the dentists and assistants were great, but over time it's felt more like a corporately owned office. I felt like I was being upsold on several treatments - invisaligns, deep cleanings, etc. After going through the deep cleaning process (I moved out of town temporarily and missed just one cleaning), even the dental assistants were confused why I was put through those cleanings. The final straw was my cleaning ~July 2023, when my tooth was chipped during a cleaning. The dentist (who has typically provided great cleanings) was polishing the backside of my tooth with what I think was a polishing stone, and ended up taking some from the bottom of my tooth where my bite meets and feels off now. I have picture evidence of the date of the cleaning, and can also tell how much was accidentally shaved off because of a gap between my tooth and my retainer that wasn't there before. Unfortunate incident, but it's caused me to lose trust in this office. read more

My favorite dentist ever. I had 8 crown veneers plus whitening with ADE. I can't find the words to express how impressed I am with their overall service. Starting from India at the front desk to Britney, to Tai, to Tsegi, to of course Dr. Hassan and Dr. Ali. I already booked my 6 month periodic follow up and cleaning with them. Their environment is so clean and most importantly friendly (given that I'm scared of dentists). They are LGBTQA+ friendly and plays club music in the clinic I think I found my dentist. read more

That was absolutely the MOST PAINFUL routine cleaning I've ever had. I yelped between 8-10 times during the cleaning, and after stopping once, they just kept going. I thought maybe the polishing part would be better, but the hygienist pushed so hard against my teeth that I got what felt like a brain freeze on my upper left side. I've never had that before. I pulled my mouth away from her hands and held my cheek, telling her I needed a moment. She seemed to want to keep going, but I told her I needed more time. I then fully stopped the hygienist during flossing, because it was SO PAINFUL. She forced the floss so hard between my teeth that when it crossed to the gum it hurt, and then would count to either 4 or 5 while jamming the floss again and again into my gum (even though she was already between my teeth). I told her I could floss my own teeth, and she said "let me try the top teeth." She did, and I stopped her again. It was awful. The room was also oddly dirty. The X-ray covers had white splotches all over them, as did the dental goggles for patients, the seats, and the instrumentation. The in-mouth instrumentation was not taken out of a fresh packet in front of me, and it looked like the mini mirror (that they put in your mouth) was dirty. For positive things (because I like to include positives), I did really like the dentist and appreciated her knowledge a lot. I felt like she listened to my concerns and gave me good feedback. I also liked the receptionist, she was very wonderful. I won't be returning here due to the extremely painful experience. I am hoping that with better training and cleaning procedures that this place can be better. read more

I have received some decent dental work here but it's been a mixed bag experience overall. I don't want to go into all the details except for the main reason I'm leaving which is below. They called me a few months ago suggesting I get two recommended crowns before the end of the year on teeth that were sensitive but not a real immediate problem, and their reasoning was that I had free insurance money left over after my deductible for the year. I decided to go for it and got it done right before and after Christmas (temp and permanent crown separately) during a busy work season and stressful time of year to use up the insurance benefits before I lost them. I was told my insurance covered half of the cost - I paid $800. I was just told today that insurance is actually not covering anything and I must pay the outstanding $900. I told them this was upsetting given I'd rushed to do it early for the reasons listed above, and they didn't take any responsibility for the situation or even give much empathy. They did offer me a payment plan over 4 months which I appreciate but it also seems like the least they could do since this was not the payment understanding initially and I don't have extra money. I don't feel like they understand or appreciate the financial hit they gave me and I don't really want to be vulnerable to it happening again in the future. It just felt a little like a money grab on their end even from the start and I was going to go for it since it benefited me insurance money wise, but now it ended up hurting me double by being in the previous insurance period and also costing me double out of pocket. read more

This is not a serious or reliable practice. Every appointment I have made has been rescheduled by the office due to overbooking or unannounced closures. Most recently I was rescheduled, confirmed the new appointment, and showed up to wait 15+ minutes after my appointment time for someone to arrive. Only then to be told that my rescheduled appointment had been moved once again to the following week without asking or informing me of the change. I understand things come up from time to time, but making a pattern of this is not acceptable and at very least needs to be communicated. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! My experience at this office was absolutely horrendous. While there are multiple red flags I can point to, the biggest thing is that the office LOST my drivers license and insurance card for over an hour. Turns out, the employee who took it to get scanned took my license HOME. SHE TOOK MY LICENSE HOME. The office was unable to contact this employee so they had to send someone to her house to retrieve my license and insurance card. Absolutely unacceptable. Not only that, the other employees victim shamed me and gaslighted me, saying that I was making a "big deal" out of the situation. I had stayed calm until they told me I was making a "big deal". The office did they not tell me until the very end that the employee took my license and insurance card home, but simply told me that they were unable to find it at their front desk so they had to wait for the other employee to return to the office. Clearly they are unorganized and are unable to effectively manage employees. The service I had received even before they lost my ID was also unacceptable. I had went in for a wisdom teeth removal consultation and the dentist looked at my teeth for less than 5 seconds to determine that I had to remove my teeth. He offered no other explanations regarding the procedure and why he had determined that I had to remove my teeth. He talked to me for maybe 1-2 minutes max (not to mention that he took a phone call during those 2 minutes). I repeat. I have been searching, feverishly, for a good dentist in my new home (Atlanta). It's impossible to choose one because I know it will never compare to Arlington Dental Excellence. Dr Ghanim does beautiful work and it runs in the gene pool. More impressive is his son, who was so young at the time - I think his name is Ali. I still talk about him to this day. He did the bulk of the work on me from initial exam, to deciding on a plan, to executing it. I originally made an appointment for Invisalign. I have an underbite that refuses to correct, after years of braces as a kid - Invisalign as an adult - the whole nine yards. The money I've spent on my mouth could rival years of college tuition. Ali and I ultimately settled on replacing my veneers and the result was an unbelievable improvement while being incredibly natural looking. He's a serious artist, carefully cloning the color and shape of my teeth to transform them with the latest and greatest material (when I first got veneers, it was in 2003 - basically cement!) It's so important to feel comfortable with your dentist and I went with Arlington Dental Excellence because of him. He really talked me through every step and the end result was flawless. It was apparent something had changed about my face, but it wasn't outrageously obvious. It's no exaggeration that someone compliments my smile once a month, minimum. In addition to the top tier quality of work, the employees and the way of doing business is what will make you fall in love with this place. It's a family. Ali, his dad, at the time his mom was at the front desk and she knew me by name every time I came in for an appointment. It's incredibly difficult to find a place like this. Of the utmost importance, the pricing is beyond reasonable. I was only 26 at the time and they knew I couldn't afford 8K+ on a new smile at once. The payment plan was so reasonable, so stress-free and was the epitome of why a small business will always surpass that of a franchise or chain. I can't say enough good things about this place. I miss it so much that I'm making the outrageous decision to book a flight, a hotel, and a dog sitter just so I can get my teeth cleaned and my veneers checked in on by Ali. ADE forgot my appointment when I showed up and then when I rescheduled I waited over an hour. Separately, when my son was getting a cleaning the dentist convinced me to let a gum specialist look at my gums and said it would cost me nothing. I reluctantly let him look since I was waiting for my son and then later found out that ADE billed my insurance so when I went to get a cleaning later that year it was not covered since ADE claimed my insurance after misleading me. When I called later to explain the issue the woman hung up on me and when I called back she was rude and would not let me speak to the dentist that made the recommendation. Awful experience in terms of patient communication and service. I had removal of two top wisdom teeth. I'd found this place after cancelling with another place that was out of network and weren't going to do general anesthesia, so I was very clear upfront in confirming that I was going to have general anesthesia. They said yes and gave me the whole pre anesthesia rundown, I follow and don't eat after midnight the day before, bring an escort. I don't even realize anything is amiss until I'm IN THE DENTAL CHAIR and one of the people prepping me says "Did you have breakfast?" And I say "No, I was told not to eat after midnight." And the worker says, "Oh, you're not going under." I'm like what and explain that was the entire plan, she says she'll clarify it. She sends in another man who explains that no one's doing general anesthesia right now because of COVID19. Totally understandable! But they didn't bother to give me a call and let me know so I could at least stop fasting and be mentally prepared, and the guy explains it in the most condescending tone, saying "Please try to understand, it's for your own good." So they do the spiel oh local anesthesia is fine you won't feel a thing and we'll give you drugs ahead of time too to help with the pain and relax. I know it's bs, but I'm really desperate to hurry up and get this tooth out because it's hurting me so I agree. The drugs they give me ahead of time is regular tylenol and gas at such a low dose I didn't even think it was on. They do the local anesthesia injections and make a big show of saying "See? Can't feel anything!" instead of just getting it over with like I ask and at one point they have this woman in the room hold my hand (weird). Anyways, of course you can feel the extraction even though it's for the most part not painful, and the general pulling at your mouth situation is painful. Getting the stitches hurt too (not unbearable). They topped it all off by giving me an icepack that wasn't even frozen. And it ended up somehow being more expensive than the out of network place I'd originally scheduled with, so I'd definitely recommend shopping around before ever choosing this place if you can wait for your procedure. (They also didn't give me a price quote til the day of.) The real cherry on top though was an hour or so after I left, a guy from the office called to ask why I gave them one star on Google. He asked if I was in pain (no shit) because they'd never gotten a review like that and wanted me to stay on the phone and talk about why I left a bad review WHILE I WAS IN PAIN, knowing talking made it worse. He also was able to place a crown on an existing root canal I had done a year ago (I should've gone to him a year ago for that too, he probably would've saved it) done by my old dentist. I like to see real before and after photos from fellow yelpers in the area so here I am! You can see my tooth was turning grey. You can also see the perfect color match and shape on the crown. I'm super happy! Let's start with my experience with this practice. Booking the appointment was a breeze. Even though they have many patients and run a busy schedule, once I explained my case that posed some urgency, they were able to fit me in that same week! The office is clean and the decor was interesting to look at. They have a glass display cabinet with antique dentistry tools. It's very unique and different, unlike many up scale offices with the huge glass vase centerpiece of marbles and rocks but no coat hanger :/ . Really puts you at ease to see an office so dedicated to it's specialty and patients. Then there's the staff. Everyone is super nice and accommodating. There's nothing worse than a receptionist that speaks in a monotone fashion and asks you abruptly to sign in and take a seat as soon as you walk in. Here, as you step in, they greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome. You are never rushed, they walk you through every step, from signing in, to sitting you down in the patient chair. Lastly the price was just right for me. Not super low, where you feel the procedure might be questionable. And not super high where I would have to sell a left kidney - but right in the middle. On the day of the service, they told me my insurance does not cover wisdom teeth extractions. Wrong again. Not only would the service have been covered by my insurance if I saw someone in-network, there is a surgeon within the same office that is in-network under my plan. When I later called, the office repeatedly kept lying to me that It would not have mattered because dental insurance never covers wisdom teeth extraction, which is just blatantly wrong, and that I should consider changing plans from such a cheap insurance plan. They told me I should be grateful they offered me such a cheap cash price. Now I'm out $200 and Arlington Dental excellence refuses to accept any responsibility. Showed up here today because their website stated that the initial screening, X rays and cleaning for first time patients was free... NOT TRUE or course, then the website also said Root Canals were $699 but I was quoted $2050 for one and $1712 for the other which the dentist said he discounted to $900 each, none of those numbers are even close to $699. This was after I rushed getting there spent money on the fastest uber for my appointment at 11am which I was 15 min early for to then sit and wait until 11:41 to hear from the dentist. I ended up leaving because i've learned that if people don't value your time then don't spend your money there. I signed all of this paper work agreeing to all of the late fees and penalties IF i'm ever late to an appointment but somehow doctors and dentist can just leave you sitting there aimlessly. I hate the experience I had (including the dentist stabbing my in my gums to inspect a tooth) I hate when dentist are careless because they have so many years under their belt. read more

I was upset with the amount of times I was told by multiple people I needed vaneers for my front teeth, which was not why I was there in the first place and not a concern I had raised. I found it unnecessary and disrespectful to continuously mention an expensive cosmetic fix when I did not ask for it. Already self conscious about my teeth, I went home very upset. On top of that, I had to go in after 1 day to have them fix a temporary crown and after the permanent crown, I noticed issues. Went to a second dentist who reported it was ill fitted to my tooth and had excess cement around it, therefore would need to be redone. My experience at Arlington Dental Excellence got progressively worse. I should have left sooner after the first few warning signs, but I was lazy about switching dentists. I should have listened to that voice in the back of my head. In my opinion, they're more a business than a healthcare provider. My first couple of visits went well actually. I had pain in one of my wisdom teeth. They recommended that they extract the affected wisdom teeth, and also the other wisdom teeth to avoid future issues. The extractions went well. Next I had my semi-annual dental cleaning with them. The dental cleaning was the worst I've ever received having been with 5 different dentists so far. My teeth did not feel clean like they normally do after a cleaning. Worse, they then said that I needed a "deep" cleaning. Here's when I should have jumped ship, but regretfully didn't. The "deep" cleaning was worse than any regular cleaning I've received before or since. After the "deep" cleaning, they recommended that I get invisalign, but provided no explanation as to why. I told them that I was happy with the appearance of my smile. They said that I *needed* invisalign, but again provided no explanation. When I asked why I needed it, they said that it would make it easier to keep my teeth healthy. Ok, that's interesting. Then I asked them if it's something I needed to do now or if it's something that could be done later, and they said it could be done later. However, not five minutes later, another staff member walks in and says that they need to schedule my invisalign treatment, it's going to cost $4500, and that I need to pay today. I told them that I wasn't ready for the treatment and that I was going to think about. Then she tells me, that I need to sign the proposed treatment plan anyway. This is when I pushed back that I'm not going to sign any proposed treatment plan for a treatment that I don't want. After a little back and forth, they relent and I don't sign the proposed treatment plan. I really, really find the high pressure sales tactics disgusting. These people are supposed to be looking after the health of my teeth, but the only impression you have is of them trying to get as much money out of you as possible. When I went to a new dentist, they also suggested I get invisalign for the same underlying reasons, that it would help with the long-term health of my teeth. Same as before, I asked them if it's an urgent issue that must be done now or if it's something we can keep an eye on. They said, it's not a problem right now, and that we'll keep an eye on it, since it may never be an issue. That's all I wanted, an honest assessment of the health of my teeth and pros/cons to make an informed decision. Not bullying me into a decision without information. The new dentist provided a thorough regular cleaning, much better than the supposed "deep" clean that I got at Arlington Dental Excellence. No "deep" cleaning treatment recommended. Here's the kicker, at my new dentist, they pointed out some issues that Arlington Dental Excellence completely missed. Actual issues with my teeth that urgently needed to be taken care of that had been there for months/years. So Arlington Dental Excellence pushed unnecessary treatments on me instead taking care of real dental issues. read more

I AM LOOKING TO PURSUE MEDICAL MALPRACTICE AGAINST THIS CLINIC! I went in because of a whitening and had a slight sliver from a previous composite that had come undone. Dr. Mo said that it was not a good idea to do another composite and kept calling for a "veneer" he shaved down 3mm of my tooth, AFTER SAYING IT WAS ONLY GOING TO BE 1mm!! He proceeded to mess up the crown 3 times and on the final time, the crown is still crooked. ABOVE ALL THEY FRAUDULENTLY CHARGED MY INSURANCE!!! I have gone to other practitioners to look at the X-rays and pictures and I am in the process of pursuing medical malpractice and pushing for insurance to audit. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Awful place. I spent my whole day off just trying to pick up my mouth guard. They charged me $350 for a piece of crap. The first time I had an impression, the girl was hurting me and pressing so hard on the top of my head. The second time to pick up my mouth guard was worse. Went at 1 needed a new impression and told me it would be ready in 45 mins. 3 hours later I go in, pay the remaining balance. The mouth guard was so awful and scraping the top of my mouth. I waited another 20 mins for someone to come over. Idk who it was but the guy came over to me and I told him what my issues were and before I could finish, he was cutting me off, telling me to relax. They make sure that when your being cleaned they cover as much as possible your top. Hello, I am disappointed. While the staff is lovely and welcoming, I have complaints that nobody told me I had to get dental cleaning done before coming for my teeth whitening appointment. I had to get it done at the office when I found out minutes before my whitening procedure. I ended up paying more than I would have if I had gotten dental cleaning done through my insurance at another clinic. On top of that, I can't even tell much difference in the whitening. I came in there for a deep cleaning (with my fingers crossed that he wouldn't find any problems) and was given the green light that my teeth were fine. He did note that a bridge that was done on my teeth needed repair. I had came back for the repair and again, excellent service! Since I know that the teeth did not have any nerves I opted out of novocaine. He said, "You're a tough cookie." Well I knew I didn't have any nerves in the teeth so why bother. After having a great dentist back home in California for most of my life I was hesitant to find a good one out here....so I let my wife do the work. Haha She needed some minor work done and found this dentist. Instantly we were impressed with their level of professionalism, care and overall customer service. They actually listened to what my wife needed and set up a plan for her that would not affect our wedding which was a few months after. Fast forward and it's time to go back in. They remembered our names, who we were and couldn't stop asking about the wedding and how we were doing. It's a family business and they are all amazing. We can't stress that enough. From the front desk to Ali (son - dental tech) to Dr. Layth and the others working there, they actually want to help you and not crush you in expenses. They walk you through exactly what needs to be done and don't try to swindle you out of unnecessary things you don't need or explain why your last dentist might have gave you an incorrect diagnosis. As for making you feel comfortable they are pros at this. I'm not sure many people enjoy the dentist but they make it as stress-free as possible. They also have TVs in each room so that's a nice distraction. My wife and I are currently in the middle of getting dental work done so I'll update once we are all done in a few months with our progress. I have heard they do a teeth whitening deal off Groupon but I haven't looked into that and haven't got it done so unfortunately I can't speak on that. Arlington Dental Excellence is wonderful. I came across their information on Yelp! one evening last year in the midst of a dental emergency. Encouraged by the positive reviews, I messaged the owners about scheduling an appointment as soon as possible. Even though it was after hours I received a reply almost immediately from Ali who very politely answered my questions and provided their availability for the following day. I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Layth who listened patiently as I explained my dental history and assured me that, contrary to my prior dentist's long-term diagnosis, I did in fact have other less invasive (and much less expensive!) options. I've had severe dentophobia since I was a child but Ali's and Dr. Layth's warm welcome, genuine concern for my health, and conservative, knowledgeable approach to their work made it easy for me to contact them this week about another looming problem. Dr. Johnson was kind, gentle, and honest during his examination and though the prospect of a root canal is never pleasant, I felt comfort in knowing that if that were necessary I'd be in the care of a true professional. Terrible overall experience. Set up a consultation for a wisdom tooth extraction. They were able to set me up for a date to get the procedure done without any issues and provided me preventative steps to follow on the day of the procedure. On the day of the appointment, I get a call from the office saying the surgeon actually doesnt work during the period I was scheduled to visit and asked to make a last minute adjustment to my schedule and come in an hour early. Before making that attempt, I informed them I did drink liquids an two hours before the 6 hour window for the original appt (so an hour before the new window), they said it was too close to the period provided in their own paperwork and cancelled the appointment. For any new patients, I'd not only follow up with the office on multiple occasions prior to the appointment since it's not a priority for them to do so, but also disregard the false information given in their preventative steps page. One of the worst experiences I've ever had a dental office. The two young ladies at the front desk, we really sweet, and that is where it ended. I went in for a cleaning and routine evaluation. They took me in the back and began taking picture of my teeth, which took them over an hour to do. It took another hour for my hygienist to start cleaning my teeth. When I finally met the doctor, he came in (not very friendly) and quickly told me the word I needed done. He told me I needed a 2 crowns, and my wisdom tooth pulled. I already had a crown on the tooth he said I needed it for AND I only have 1 wisdom tooth that doesn't bother me or my teeth. I tried to explain this to him but before I could even tell him, he left the room. He then sent the billing lady in. She came in and told me that the procedure(s) I would be getting would max out all of my dental benefits (this was my first time using my dental insurance this year). She then tried to rush me through reading and signing the bill before my procedure could even start. I informed her that I wanted to read the bill and needed to see the dentist before continuing with the service. A few minutes he returned and I explained to him that I had a crown on the tooth he is trying to place a crown on. His response was "no you don't!". Now I'm not a dentist, BUT I know what dental work I've gotten. I reiterated that I do, and he sticks his finger in my mouth to confirm. This was really weird and uncomfortable. Realizing that he made a mistake, he goes "oh yeah you do have a crown, I don't notice because they look good", (this was after he "looked" at my X-ray). So the billing woman had to readjust the bill (thank goodness I didn't pay yet), and returns. I signed to get my cleaning, one crown, and my wisdom tooth pulled. He numbed me to pull my wisdom tooth and left the room again. During this time, another Dentist in training (I believe) came in and out of the room and would periodically put in gloves and start working on me. He had terrible bedside manner as well. During my third hour of being their, he finally starts to work on my crown. As I am waiting for him to return, everyone (Dentist, Dentist Trainee, hygienist) are in a room laughing and joking around. At this point I am annoyed, because they are literally just hanging out and I am the only client there at this point. I tell them that I want to leave because the service hasn't been great and The Dentist comes out with an attitude and tries to argue with me. He says "have you ever gotten a crown before, it take a long time". He had forgotten that I had been through this experience before, and it didn't take 3 (at this point almost 4 hours). He was able to place the crown on, and because it was so late, I wasn't able to get my wisdom tooth pulled. They rescheduled the procedure but I didn't want to return because of the terrible service I received. I paid my wisdom tooth to be removed and they never were removed nor did I get a refund. Not happy at all with the service here. First, the dentist discharged me with the wrong post operative instructions on my medication after a tooth instruction. Spent about 20 minutes on the phone with the office, cotton in my mouth of course, arguing with the office that the post op medication instructions that the office wrote for the pharmacy belonged to some one else. Next, the dentist cancelled my 8 am follow up appointment approximately a week later. Contacted me the night before to inform me that "the doctor won't be in tomorrow until 11am." Kind of miffed at that since I made it clear that I work during the day. Had 12:10 pm follow-up today. Waited in the lobby for 42 minutes for my appointment before I went to reception and informed them that I was walking out. Very unhappy. Took a follow up call soon thereafter with the doctor. Explained to him in no uncertain terms that my time is valuable and that was no way to run a business. read more

My first time at another dentist... is this how other people get to experience the dentist?? I've never had a better experience. I came in for their teeth whitening deal. Everyone was so warm, helpful, and they made sure and double checked my insurance before doing a cleaning first. The dentist explained some issues with my teeth WITHOUT being condescending, and told me different fixes for it. I actually learned something! No one made me feel badly for not flossing every day (though made a great argument for why I should). Can't recommend enough! read more

the friendliest, most accomodating dental service ever. everyone here is so kind and really takes the time to make sure the patient is cared for. I came in with a toothache shortly after starting a new job and before my dental insurance was 100% active-- regardless, they saw me and tried their absolute best to get my insurance up and running. I also ended up having a root canal and the entire procedure was quick and completely painless! Absolutely loved all the doctors and staff as well. Will definitely make this my primary dental location as long as I'm in the DMV :) read more
