I plan on continuing to use them and would recommend them for your tax needs.

We hired them last…read moreyear to help with our rather complicated taxes that were split between several states, and the entire process has been filled with multiple errors and over looked details. They failed to file important paperwork from another state which resulted in a penalty letter from the IRS. They asked for more paperwork from us, and we sent it but one important piece didn't make it to them and they never followed up asking for it. Now we've received our 2nd IRS warning, and I'm livid that they let the mistake slip through the cracks. I don't pretend to be good at things like this which is why we hire professionals to help with the process. The lack of follow up to the missing document is a failure of due diligence from the company. It's also the first time we've ever had anywhere from 4-6 (maybe more?) people working on one return. Who was responsible for our account? I still have no idea, and I recommend you find someone else this tax season. Editing to add: The company blamed us for their mistake then insinuated that they would not help us unless we took down our bad review. We ended up not having to pay the fine (we had a federally accepted reason to delay filing), and it was because of their mistake that we received the fine. We easily fixed the issue with the IRS directly since the company was unwilling to do the work we paid them thousands for.

Five Stone Tax Advisers

I started using Five Stone Tax Advisors to challenge my Austin property taxes (two properties, for…read moremany years) for quite a few years now, after a bruising meeting with the Travis County committee that meets with homeowners, a horrible experience. Most years, Five Stone has been successful in getting the appraised value of my home lowered - sometimes by a lot. I think the fee they charge for this is reasonable, and they seem to be efficient and very easy to deal with. Usually, we exchange only 1 or 2 messages per year. They donate a substantial portion of their profit (about a third) to local charities, and they invite their clients to choose from a list. They're a great business; highlky recommend.

Useless service that cost us money when we tried to use them. We signed up a few years ago (2024)…read morefor the purpose of having them protest our property tax increase. They did zero work, literally zero, as soon as we signed up they literally told us to go find comparable property sales ourselves and sent a bill at the same time because they wouldn't do any work to try and protest for us thus they knew we would not find any savings. The entire reason we used them was to find the comparable and do the protest, which they didn't do either of. They should at least have a policy that if they have zero data they can use to make a case, you should not pay anything to them at all since they won't do anything. I would not use them again, I have contacted state representatives to suggest regulating this industry due to unethical companies like this one.

This was the first time I was ever filing taxes as a day trader, so I had a lot of questions. Chase didn't hesitate to hop on the phone with me a few times, learn about my situation, and give me REAL answers. The actual execution of the process was SO EASY. I uploaded all of my documents, and they sought all clarification electronically. I loved having a single spot where we had all records of our communication instead of needing to hunt through different email threads. As we were getting nearer to having everything done, Adam was also very willing to hop on the phone with me to make sure I didn't have any final questions before filing. Overall, this a great team, and a perfect example of how a locally owned business outshines guys like HR Block. I could not recommend them enough.
