My daughter has been here 2 years+ and we have nothing but good things to say about the teachers. They are talented and really get involved with all the students. When you deal with teenage girls there are challenges to overcome that transcend the dancing. These instructors realize that. The pricing tends to change as they rearrange the format yearly, but the changes have been all for the better so far as I have seen. The one thing I wish they did is compete, but that doesn't seem to bother my daughter at all, so it's all good. They do perform a sufficient amount, at the State Fair, Glendale Glitters festival, Desert Ridge, and other places. The recitals are fantastic! There are other schools that do compete, but we are very happy here. read more

We have been coming to Sunrays for almost a year now and we love it. The staff is always so friendly and I feel that all of the teachers really care about the kiddos. We've done dance and gymnastics and even a dance/gym combo class. I went to Sunrays for close to 6 years and every year was more and more enjoyable! The coaches are top quality and are fun and love to what they do! The facility is as clean as a gym could be and it is a great place for kids to learn both a new sport as well as other skills helpful for coordination and balance. read more

I'm writing about the winter recital (gymnastics) that occurred the first weekend in December. It was so very nice. My daughter has participated in other recitals here and they have all been nice; however, this one just seemed extra special. The recital was set up like an actual gymnastics competition with judges at each location for each particular event i.e. Bars, beam, floor. At the end, each gymnast walked onto a platform to receive cheers, a competition medal and a certificate which included scores for each event. I started my daughter here at 4yrs old after attending another gymnastics organization in town. I immediately saw a difference in the teaching of skills. They also put her on the "developmental" track which I really didn't know the difference of at the time. My daughter showed early talent, so went the team route. I cannot lie, that I got so disheartened by the way some of the team parents were acting, and early on my daughter did not make the "early competition group", at 6 years old.These parents made the team atmosphere completely unenjoyable, and as a parent who was not familiar with gymnastics I was turned off by the whole thing. I also thought "TOPS" was weird, and hard-core for a 5-6 year old girl! I ended up moving her to a different facility, who put her in the competition group right away. She knew she was not prepared for that, and asked to be in the group that was still preparing. I give kudos to my 6 year old who knew where she was comfortable, but also to the coaches at Sunrays who already knew she wasn't "there yet." We came back after a good season at the other facility, to find that AZ Sunrays had welcomed her, and also toned down their requirements for TOPS, and my daughter had a great year; Coach Mellissa, Lizzie, and Erin stood out for her. She had a hard year with several injuries, but looking back now she is happy for the experience, and will take the dicipline and perceverance she's learned through competitive gymnastics into every area of her life. read more

This camp has been one of the best experiences my kids have ever had. Where else can you get gymnastics, dance, yoga, swim and karate all at the same place? My daughter has been coming here for a few years and loves it. This year I decided to take my son who is autistic for the first time and I am so glad I did! This staff is amazing with kids who are special needs! They have been very accommodating, friendly and above all compassionate. I also have another son with some behavioral issues and once again this camp has taken on the challenge of having him in their care. We are so blessed to have found this family oriented camp and I am so thankful for the staff here. read more

My daughters went here for yet another trial class - Tumbling and pre-k gymnastics. The facility had a cramped waiting area but free wi-fi (yay!). My daughter's beginning tumbling class were co-ed and had mostly pre-teen/teen girls which my daughter was not normally used to. Nevertheless, she had fun being taught and challenged. I did not have a chance to meet her tumbling instructor, but I did meet the pre-k instructor. read more

Words could never express just how wonderful Arizona Sunrays is. They have literately changed our kids lives. Both of our kids were born with hypotonia and you would never know it. Thanks to the amazing staff, spectacular camp and exceptional after school program our children have developed an incredible self awareness, skill set and confidence. I called on Friday about the new Arcadia location and spoke with the front desk who told me they didn't have any classes at that location on Friday. She informed me about the rest of the schedule and that they had an open gym there on Sundays from 11 to 12. So I planned my Sunday around taking my daughter there, only to get there and it's closed. So I call again and the front desk (it must automatically transfer to the other location) is confused why no one is there, ensuring me someone should be there. She takes my number and says she will call the director and get right back to me. A few minutes later, someone (the director maybe) calls me back and says that place isn't open today. They in fact don't even have any open gym days. It's now 11:15 and she tells me I can come up to the main location and pay for open gym there until noon. Ummm my timing might be off, but driving to there other location at this point would give me about 10 minutes of gym time for my daughter. And when I mention this to the women she gets pretty rude. I get it. Your staff screwed up, but at least be apologetic. Not once did she say sorry for the mix up or take any blame. Considering I was about to drop like $100 on toddler classes a month here, I'm glad I found out how this place treats people first. I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

I love the progress that my daughter has made at this gym. The coaches are amazing and the prices are a little steep but, you get what you pay for. However, I cannot give them a five star rating. They are not very punctual and this makes it hard for a family that has to operate on a tight schedule. The parent meeting at tryouts is ridiculous. We were told it would be 30 minutes but that turned into an hour and twenty minutes. The extended meeting wasn't because of the abundance of questions or the extensive and complicated material we had to go over. It was the long drawn out answer and explanations that were given...I swear the chic that was doing all the talking just liked to hear herself talk. I have honestly set in very complex educational meetings that were shorter and more direct! Great gymnastics training but VERY POOR time management for a gym that's teaching discipline and time management as part of their modo for success. If your time is not important and you can be 20-50 minutes late...this is a great gym for your family! read more

We've been taking our older daughter here since she was about 18 months old. She's now almost 4 and we've had a great experience the entire time. We also just started our younger daughter who recently turned 18 months. Both girls really love it. The coaches are always happy to see us and are great with the kids, and we've had several different coaches. The facility is large and wide open so it's nice to be able to see the different age groups doing different things all at the same time. The best was when my older daughter saw the older girls doing super cool things like flips and all that and she said to me, "mommy I wanna do THAT!" It. Was. Awesome. The way the place is set up allows the younger kids to look at the older ones and have something to strive for and look forward to. I love that part of it. I would definitely recommend Sunrays. It's a little expensive, but all extra-curricular activities are it's worth it for our kids! read more

This place is fabulous! I am a teacher who works in early childhood, and this is by far the most developmentally appropriate facility for children in sports that I have found. Both of my children absolutely love their classes. What an awesome place! read more

My daughter has gone to Sunrays the last 4 summers and loves it! The coaches are very energetic. The best part is all the activity my daughter is exposed to in one day. They have karate, gymnastics, dance, yoga, and a zip line. I have recommended this camp to many of my friends. read more

The staff here is amazing. I have two kids in the program. One is in the Ninja class with Shylar. She is incredible! She has so much energy and excitement for the kids every time we see her! My son LOVES her! My daughter, who has Down syndrome, has Emma. She has been unbelievable with my daughter in regards to acceptance, patience and making her (and myself) feel so comfortable. She works with my daughter to make sure she is just like any other child in the class. For anyone with a child with special needs this is such a breath of fresh air! I love this place and their fantastic staff! I would give more stars if I could! read more
