The two girls at the desk are jibber-jabbering with each other. One looks up long enough to say "Take a number". Take a number and sit down. They continue their conversation. Other people come in. Some are told to take numbers, while others are allowed to have extended conversations with the clerks. How they determine who gets immediate service and who has to wait is a mystery. After a time, one girl gets up and wanders off somewhere, while the other talks on the phone. This goes on for a while until they call your number, at which time you show them your ID and they look you up in the system, hand you a card and tell you to go park your car around the side of the building. While you wait, other cars pull up, have their boxes loaded almost immediately, while you sit there and wait. And wait. Finally someone comes out and sticks a box of food in your car and life goes on.

I was denied by the supervisor stating that I had already received food twice this month. I am NOT a food stamp recipient, in fact I was on the phone with DES at the time that I was called up and informed him of that fact. I am attempting to help my family any way I can. The supervisor denied us even an emergency food box. The heartless guy referred me to St. Mary's Food Bank which is many miles away from Desert Mission (where I was after having waited in line), even more miles away from my home. End result, I was unable to drive the extra 10+ miles to get to St. Mary's. I have very little gas, absolutely no money and a bald tire (very unsafe to make that trip). My family will go hungry this evening and this completely unacceptable. If the option of ZERO stars were available, that's what my review would firmly be after this inappropriate conduct.

I once lived in a bountiful where an immense freezer could be filled with earth's goodness of vegetables and fruits for a small expense in miles and cash. Not that easy in Arizona. The freezer was donated to St. Mary's - and welcomed. We keep our pantry stocked. When the "Best By" dates geow near on pantry goods, they are donated to St. Mary's and refreshed. I want to contribute quality to those less blessed than I have been. And, St. Mary's, being a religious organization charity, blesses families, and individuals with the foundation of living - food. This is served all over Arizona. I went with my office team and there were many more. It's a great way to give back to community. We learned that these food are given to many homeless, below poverty line people. I am so glad to have volunteered at this place coz they organize it pretty good and have a well set system.

My supervisors are awesome and care about self-care and not getting counselor burn-out, so you will get a good, happy counselor who is ready to help you with whatever you need. Case Management will help you get your social security cards, IDs, AHCCCS, your mail from CASS (if it is still going there,) they will help you get whatever you need to be successful when you complete the 30-, 60-, or 90-day program, depending on your insurance. CPLC offers grants for those who have no insurance so they may stay for little to no money while the Case Managers work on getting you AHCCCS. We have two Hispanic chefs who are Amazing, you will gain weight! The clinical team, from the Clinical Lead, substance abuse counselors, group facilitators, the CSS staff is always ready to talk if a counselor is not available, as is the peer support specialists. Everyone at Corazon is ready to help you learn to be drug and alcohol free. There are rules of course, but where is there not any rules? The point is, 99% of us love what we do, 85% of us have been where you have been (yes, we are recovering addicts and many of us have been to jail and/or prison,) and the ones who do not have personal experience have family members or friends who they have watched go through it. This is a true not for profit substance use disorder facility for men. Many come from the Reach Out program from Maricopa County Jail, though there are a few self-referred. If you want to stop running on the hamster wheel of life that is addiction, and you are male, come to CPLC Corazon. We can help if you are willing to put in the work. Definitely kept us busy! All questions you have are answered when prepping. Feeding so many people for free is just amazing. They are very organized and could always use the help. The parking isn't the best and you're surrounded by obvious homeless everywhere so make hard to leave some but overall we had a great time and would definitely come back and help.

Their staff is amazing. Especially Taylor! She has done so much to help people connect with housing, work, rehabilitation and medical care. She goes above and beyond always. 6 days a week the guests are able to get water, clothes, showers, a hot meal and assistance with housing and resources. Taylor and the staff at André House protect their guests, serve them faithfully and do it with a smile. Andre House is a critical resource for so many living on the streets of downtown Phoenix. We are lucky to have them. Consider volunteering or donating. This place is incredible!
