This was the second time we had used this caterer for our German club meeting in Seattle. The first time last year was very good, but this time, we ordered a Thanksgiving meal for around 40 people and noticed right away that the turkey had a weird texture and tasted strange and the pumpkin pie had a custardy flavor and texture which was not what we were expecting. The green beans were good and the mashed potatoes were tasty, but there wasn't much gravy. The mixed salad was OK, but it didn't have a lot of mandarin oranges or other things that were advertised to be in it besides lettuce leaves. The raspberry vinaigrette was pretty tasty, but too sweet for most of our members. After our meeting, the president called and talked to a few different people at the company, and it took a few days, but then she found out that we were given the vegetarian meal by mistake!! For the amount of money we paid, this was absolutely ridiculous. None of us were vegetarians, and we were looking forward to a traditional, roasted turkey dinner, which was posted on the signs that they put on the tables. We ended up getting some money back, but in the big picture, it was still quite expensive compared to some of the other caterers we have had in the past. We recently held a corporate event with a headcount of 100+ people, and ARISTA went above and beyond in terms of coordination, organization, accommodation and not to mention quality of food itself. The event was a great success, and the staff who worked the event were incredibly professional. They showed up early, set up the bar/buffet exactly how we wanted, and even packed up all the remaining food in compostable containers for easy clean up. This was the best experience with catering I have had. We hosted 50 people for a celebration of life event. Arista did a fantastic job for our corporate breakfast and lunch! 3 weeks later, people are still talking about how pleased they were! Right from the start, they were responsive and very easy to work with. The day of our event they showed up on time and were very swift with the set up. Our group of 40 for breakfast were very pleased, commenting particularly about how great the eggs were cooked. For breakfast we did the basic hot breakfast with eggs, plenty of bacon, fresh pastries, seasonal fruits and of course coffee service to kick start the day! We had a group of 60 to feed at lunch- we opted for the Grilled Garlic and Lemon Chicken, Balsamic Portobello Steaks for the vegetarians and the Roasted Carved NY Strip Steak for our entrees. All were delicious, The chicken was flavorful and NOT dry, the steak was juicy and tender and the portobello was a meal in itself, it was huge! We also ordered two salads and desserts, and beverage service to top it off. I am not local to Seattle and I am finding myself playing the guessing game a lot on catering companies when I am in town. I only wish I had tried Arista sooner! Other companies have been good, but the food was not memorable. They were also great about working with me on menu items to fit all dietary restrictions we had including vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free. When feeding a crowd, there is always that saying "no matter what you do, someone will not be happy". I don't think there will be a single person in our offices who would be unhappy if Arista was my new 'go to' for catering events. read more

We used Arista for a private birthday party. We received many compliments from our guests and are happy to recommend Arista to anyone considering them. From start to finish, everything was great. Our process was somewhat disjointed on our end due to life events going on in the midst of planning, and Alejandra was very patient and so helpful with our many questions as we made our decisions. The staff at the event was great as well, making sure to communicate clearly about any uncertainties and keeping things moving smoothly. The cost for catering this size event was under several other area caterers I've worked with in the past as well as the other company I considered using this time. Very unprofessional catering company - slow to respond and cancelling appointment makes them not at all reliable. I world not recommend anyone to use this company if you are reliant upon your catering company to show up and not cancelling your events few days before it's taking place. They must have decided they have more lucrative business to work with, so they dropped our appointment last minute without any reasons except for they are busy. Please think twice before using this company if you do not want to scramble for a catering company the last minute and work with a company that is so unethical that only cares about their short-term monetary gains. Update: The business owner cannot even own their own actions. It does help to explain why we were being treated like this. read more

Amazing! I used Arista twice last week for corporate events and both times they knocked it out of the park. The first event was a breakfast at our office for approximately 20 people. Angelique arrived early and was ready to go with set-up and wow, did she do a great job. The veggie quiche were a hit and our guests enjoyed the food very much. The second event I used them for was our company picnic, and wow, again Ilitch and his crew just crushed it. John and Brett crafted a menu specific to our needs and budget; the food was cooked mostly on-site by Chef Marcus, our menu was an all-American BBQ buffet with Chicken, Burgers, Brats, salads, fruit and so much more. They also set up a beverage bar for us, as well as linens and centerpieces for our tables. I cannot recommend Arista enough, if you need a caterer, this is the company to use. read more

John Morovich did a fantastic job of finding the right items for the right price for our event, and suggesting some items that we might want instead to make sure we had a great spread. The food was DELICIOUS! I needed catering for Dec 27th and I must have emailed 20 different companies. Not only were others menu boring, sparse but also grossly overpriced for the date - some tacked several thousand dollars for the "time of year"! Arista's response time was fast, they had ample options, were extremely reasonably priced and everything tasted amazing. (They make salmon and crab appatizers - to die for). They came and set everything up ahead of time and the best part - everything they left from the trays to the serving utensils were totally disposable - made clean up super easy. ARISTA catered out wedding on April 21st and overall it was a satisfactory experience, although not perfect. We chose Brett/ARISTA last July after receiving several quotes from other Puget Sound caterers. Brett was the quickest to respond to questions and quote changes, and the overal cost was much less than the others. PROS: -Cheaper than any other caterer we received a quote from -Very accommodating -No hidden charges/fees (e.g., corkage, cake-cutting, etc.) -Food was good CONS: -Once we paid the $500 deposit, Brett was not nearly as quick to respond to concerns/questions. On one occasion, I emailed Brett a list of questions. He replied saying he would get back to me by Thursday. On Friday, there was still no reply. I emailed again and he said he would get back to me on Sunday with the answers to my questions. By Monday, there was still no reply. Then when I sent another email indicating that he should just say he will get back to me soon, rather than promising a specific date, he got upset and told me to "watch my tone". Very unprofessional. -We were also promised that after dinner there were would be a coffee/tea service and specifically rented teacups/saucers for each place setting just for this. But no coffee/tea was ever served. -During the toasts, my husband and I (the bride and groom) never got our champagne flutes! We had to toast with the drinks we had from dinner. -We ordered an expensive wedding cake to serve exactly as many guests as we had (125), but ARISTA cut each slice SUPER thinly and we had 3/4 of our cake leftover at the end of the night! The cake costs us $7/slice and my mom/bridesmaids ended up having to take 2 of the 4 tiers home (the bottom, larger tiers). I expect catering staff to know how thickly to cut each slice so that there are no leftovers and that each person gets their $7's worth. Such a waste of a delicious cake. OVERALL: 4 stars for good service, decent food, and a great job setting up/decorating/taking-down in a timely fashion. Minus 1 star for the lack of promised coffee/tea service and poorly cut wedding cake. Even though it wasn't perfect (what wedding is?), I still recommend ARISTA for the low-cost and good food. I do suggest that you communicate everything (e.g. how thickly to cut each slice of cake) so that there are no surprises, however. Thanks, Brett (and staff) for everything! read more

Arista catering did our wedding early June this year. My husband and I tried a number of caterer and this one was by FAR our FAVORITE. The food was EXCELLENT and very flavorful! Most of other wedding caterer food was super blend to "please wide range of guest." Bleh. We ordered a fresh (never frozen!) salmon filet and prime rib lunch buffet. We got SO many compliments about the food! Everyone absolutely loved it. That really made us happy because we invited those who are most dear to us to our wedding- we wanted to treat them well! The price was fantastic, the linens they picked out was beautiful, and the SILVERWARE & GLASSWARE were also very impressive. No cheap looking stuff- these were AWESOME. Brett, whom we worked with, was amazing. He put a lot of thought into our event and he really knew what he was doing. He ran through every little details of the events with us and was in control. He even added a little surprise in the champagne classes by adding a raspberry in it! SO pretty. I was super happy. All in all, I was very impressed and happy with them. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because we apparently ran short with some food. Everyone went nuts over the salmon (I'm telling you, it was FANTASTIC) and people towards the end didn't get them. I guess there was a misunderstanding- guests were supposed to take either Salmon OR the beef, not BOTH. Everyone took everything.... and tried to go for seconds. I guess it was a bit of my fault for not warning them we have big eaters in our group! Still, I highly recommend them! read more

Arista did our wedding a couple of weeks ago. They did an amazing job, and were also much more affordable than any of the other options we looked at. We had an 80 person event, they did steak and salmon, both of which came out fantastic. Since we are from out of town we took a chance and booked them without going to a tasting first, and I am so glad we did. The food was delicious and the service before, during and after the event was outstanding. They were very flexible with changes and letting us do things the way we wanted. During the reception, Brett even went above and beyond and helped out with stuff that was not in the catering contract at all. Another thing I really liked about them was that they did not try to mark up every little thing, which seems to be the standard among every other place I researched. For example we were able to save some money by doing some things ourselves that they would normally do, and they made it very easy for us (even though I'm sure it was extra work for them.) Overall I just can't say enough good things about them. I highly recommend Arista Catering if you want top notch food and service at a reasonable price. p.s. Regarding other reviewers' comments about responsiveness, I think it's important to understand that caterers & other event people are not office workers sitting by their email constantly. In my dealings with all the vendors for our wedding, I found that some people are very email oriented, others not so much -- but that doesn't mean they aren't really great at what they do. I used Arista for a holiday party for 50 people that I hosted in my home. I am relatively new to the area so I chose them literally b/c they came up in my Google search..... I was a little nervous. I have to say I could not have been happier! It was more than I ever expected. To be honest, I really didn't expect this type of attention to detail for such a small party so it was such a pleasant surprise. Brett came out to the house prior to the event to see the space, came out the morning of my party to set everything up and the servers that I hired thru him arrived on time, were great with my guests and had everything completely cleaned up before they left. Brett had great suggestions on the menu, servers, rentals, etc. and it DID NOT cost me a small fortune. He created everything to fit the budget I had in mind. For our event, we catered a continental breakfast, taco bar lunch and two snacks throughout the day. Maria was the head of our catering team and her team executed the day without a single flaw. The presentation, serving size, professionalism - all of it was fantastic. We even got several comments from attendees on how great the food was.
