I have played golf at Eagle Vale, but this was my first time eating at the Argyle Grill. It was a busy Saturday night- so the service was a tad slow- but it's understandable when the place is full. My wife had steak tacos with grilled onions and cheese. I had fish tacos with salsa, sour cream and guacamole. We both had fries as a side. Both dishes of tacos were very good- and we enjoyed the music. It was a nice atmosphere in here. In the summer you can sit on the deck and enjoy the golf course. Went for dinner with friends on 9/23/23. What an absolute s*%t show. I would give this 0 stars if I could. Server was terrible and got everyone's bill incorrect. Food was ok. Both bartenders were intoxicated to the point that they spent most of the time on the dance floor, one of which was so intoxicated she fell on the dance floor. She then proceeded to start dancing on the booths and could have fallen into and possibly through a window. This in-spite of patrons trying to intervene. It was beyond uncomfortable, embarrassing and scary. I cannot believe that, that is the quality of help hired today. I hope to God none of them actually got in a car and drove home at the end of the night. I have frequented this establishment frequently over the years and sadly, I am not likely to ever return. The only employee there worth their salt is Katy. She is the absolute best and sadly was not working this night. If she were, you can bet none of this would have happened. I am so sorry but I have to write this so the restaurant makes some changes. We went last night with a groupon in hand. There were a few other people there, the people next to us also had a groupon. We ordered cauliflower wings, and eggplant parm with a side salad. the place was warm, super cute and nice atmosphere. Our salad came out after 30 minutes-a long time. we were wondering why it took so long considering it was close to empty. the waitress was super loud and chatting it up with anybody she could. We could hear her across the restaurant. We asked for an extra plate for the salad since we were sharing everything. after another long wait, no plate was provided noting only one other table with people. I ended up going to the bar to get a small plate. with one bite of salad in mouth, the food arrived, luke warm. the salad was very nicely presented and large for a starter salad. the waitress offered an extra plate for the food but said it would take a long time. given the plate never showed for the salad we declined the extra plate. How come the waitress could not get an extra plate in under 15 minutes? very odd. The waitress was over the top nice, VERY loud and was almost yelling for attention as she chatted behind the bar with the bartender and patron. (I assume she chose chatting over working, hence no extra time to get a plate)The eggplant parm was undercooked, very mushy which means undercooked, underfried, and chewy. we stopped eating it. the cauliflower wings were balls of breading with a microscopic amount of cauliflower inside. My husband and I went for dinner last Saturday. The service was awful. the woman hardly spoke and when she did she was rude. whenever we asked for something she just said "yup". when food finally arrived, which was at least 30-40 min, the fries were cold, the chicken in the chicken French was disgusting and she never came back to check. We waited 15 minutes to pay and finally my husband went up and gave the check to the bartender to cash out. Today as I am doing my banking, I noticed that the woman must have added more tip for herself because the final amount was $14 more than we signed on our credit card slip. My first time there. I just recently moved back to NY from Florida. Was on a first date there. This guy Noah, the bartender? Totally hooked it up. And I can't remember the girl bartender. The two of them were absolutely amazing. The martinis were off the hook. The food? We went there on Saturday for dinner. 40 minutes to get an app to the table and about as long for the dinners. The pot roast fries...if there was supposed to be gravy on them..it was dried out and stuck to the paper under them...and the beef was dried out. Just horrible. A wrap that was supposed to have horseradish sauce on it..well, lets just say if it was there I missed it..and also very dry. I went to this restaurant (can you even call it that?) tonight and had the WORST meal I've had in literally years. The service was mediocre but the real problem was the food itself. We first ordered fried calamari for a starter. It came out mushy and undercooked. Also, there were only about 7-8 rings total on the entire plate.... for $12! We sent it back and they cooked another batch. On the second try, it was completely overcooked and basically inedible, and had no taste. I ordered salmon as my entree. Big mistake. The salmon was undercooked as well. It came with veggies on the side which were clearly frozen, nothing fresh about them. It also came with an overcooked and completely underwhelming baked potato. Just awful! The other three people in our party all hated their meals as well. We had a pizza at the table that had a rancid sauce on it, an overcooked chicken parm with a pool of water in the bottom of the bowl from the wet pasta and a chicken Marsala with no Marsala sauce. We got to-go boxes but the food was so bad we left the boxes on the table before we left. Ate here last night while we waited for the Beatles-tribute band 'Inside Out' to start playing. Was pleasantly surprised that they had some nice salads on the menu including the kale salad I had for my main. In general, the menu skews towards bar food, with the standard appetizers of fried calamari, wings and fries; they also have burgers, wraps and for dinner entrees, steaks and a fish fry option for every day of the week. The Argyle Grill is a decent enough place - they have indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor seating is actually very pleasant. Plenty of parking as well, and live music most weekends. I probably would not go out of my way to go and eat here, but if you are on that side of town, either finishing up golf or looking for a place to eat outside that is away from commercial activity and traffic, this could be a good option. Prices are reasonable: I had a wine spritzer with dinner that was $6; my salad was $13.99. It came with a pile of raw kale leaves (note to self: this is a LOT of fiber!!), plus slivered almonds, sliced strawberries, goat cheese, craisins and a poppy-seed dressing. I didn't want the poppy-seed dressing since the salad had a lot of other sugars with the fresh and dried fruit, so they happily replaced that with my request for balsamic vinaigrette. Service was great, lots of friendly people working in there, and when we finished we were able to easily transfer to a table outside to watch the band. read more

They have a bar area which makes it a great place to go watch a football game and enjoy dinner/drinks. They have multiple TVs and satellite so you get to see many of the games that aren't on TV that week. In addition they have another section for regular diners (split off from the bar). The menu then moves away from traditional bar food. Both sections are kid friendly and makes it a good place to take the family - either to watch the game or have a nice meal out. read more

We were a party of five and very disappointed with the food. Our fried calamari was so over cooked that that it should not have been served. Tasted like old oil and there was not one banana pepper as it's advertised to come with. My salad was supposed to be romaine and it was mostly iceberg. The added chicken was minimal. The chicken sirachi sandwich was way overcooked, dry and was so small that it filled only half the roll with barely any mayo. The onions rings although only were given 5 and the steak quesadilla were ok. The fries tasted of old oil and basically not worth it. Never going back. We went to the I got grill last evening with four friends. I had the fish fry it was good not great, probably worth a good four stars out of five. My wife had an omelette and tater tots which I thought was very unusual for something ordered at 9 o'clock at night but it was a very good one and one of the best she's had - much tastier and larger than the one at Fraiche. She definitely likes the Argyle more than I do but I'm not negative on it. There's not a lot of choice for later evening dining in Penfield. Went Friday 9/27 to see Inside Out. Band started late and played for about 30 minutes and then had to take an hour break because of an event upstairs. So basically we were there for over 2 hours spent money on dinner and drinks for 30 minutes of music. When we complained banquet manager just walked away while we were mid sentence and went to hang out on the patio. Asked to speak to the manager and was told by our server they had left for the evening. People on both sides of us were openly vaping and the food that came out of the kitchen was not good. Conflicting thoughts about this restaurant. I always get a burger, and it's always delicious. So are the fries. But on one recent visit, the friend with me had a filet beef sandwich special that was so grizzly she couldn't eat it. The very pleasant male server offered to replace it, my friend declined, and the server didn't charge her. On another recent visit, a friend and I sat out on the nice patio that overlooks the driving range. My burger and fries were delicious, but my friend received the wrong meal, had to wait quite a while for the correct meal, had to wait for her drink, had to point out the incorrect price on her check, etc. While we understood they had far more customers than expected on a beautiful weekday evening, the personable server seemed to be trying her best to take care of everyone, but customer patience was required. All in all, I'd say food and service are inconsistent. And ... we'd rather not see a server's butt cheeks -- her shorts were indeed short. read more

The Argyle Grill is a small pub overlooking the Eagle Vale golf course in Fairport, NY. It offers a decent selection of beer on tap and the servers are usually personal and knowledgeable. My wife and I have been going to the Agryle Grill on occasion for the last couple of years and always enjoyed the good food in a casual atmosphere. Recently we went to the Argyle for dinner and the food has really gone down hill. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and what arrived was basically a chicken nugget on a roll with a small piece of lettuce and tomato. I told the waitress that the portion size of my chicken was really small for a $10 sandwich and she said that they sometimes get their frozen chicken in different sizes from their supplier. She then said that I must have gotten one of the smaller ones. She then walked away and didn't even offer me a better piece of chicken. My wife had the veggie wrap which was much smaller than on previous visits as well. The waitress had also said that they had a new chef. It's very disappointing to go somewhere that you have had good experiences and then be let down. We will not be going back to the Argyle after not only receiving such small portions, but also because of the way we were dismissed. Looking forward to Jeremiah's opening in Penfield soon. I live really close, and I am a bit biased, but this is an awesome place! As mentioned, there are 2 areas to eat in- near the bar, and another room. There is a large, U shaped bar, and Katie, Shannon, Lynnsey and Tasha really know how to take care of you. The food goes from wings to burgers to fish fries to pasta to steaks and seafood, and is all VERY good. There is an outside seating area that overlooks the Eagle Vale driving range. There is a nice crowd for the NFL Sunday Ticket, and everyone is very friendly! read more
