We arrived home early Wednesday morning from our amazing trip to Southern Italy. I can't speak…read morehighly enough about the entire trip.......the hotels, private car transfers, guided tours and locations in Southern Italy were all excellent. We very much liked the Hotel Continental in Sorrento. Great location and very comfortable and scenic room. Perfect for the week in Sorrento. Also loved the Masseria Villa Verde in Fasano and the Borgo delle Pietre in Agrigente. Lovely rooms and great service. Of course, the food throughout Italy was amazing, however we had one of our most memorable lunches at Borgo delle Pietre. A big plate of sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil and bread and paired with a bottle of local red wine. A very simple meal ---- entirely delicious! All of the guided tours were led by excellent guides and all private car transfers were on time (always about 15 minutes early). It was a very good decision to hire the private car service throughout our trip so we could relax and enjoy the scenery. This was a dream trip come true!

One could argue that the internet has made travel agencies redundant - you can just type in your…read moreflight requirements on Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, Kayak, et al. and buy a ticket. However - sometimes travel requirements are just too complicated to type into a search box. You need the help of a knowledgable individual with access to consolidator airfares to help reduce the cost of the trip and is seasoned enough to help you plan out a trip quickly and easily. I ran into such a situation when planning a trip for my wife that required her to travel to India via the Middle East with multiple stops. After dinking around with various internet travel sites and coming up with umpteen variations of itineraries (some which were absolutely ridiculous - like flying from the US to Europe to the Middle East to China and then back to India), economy ticket prices ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 and pricing that was not always accurate on the travel engine (when you click on an itinerary that you liked, it would check pricing and the system would tell you that it would cost $400 more than what was originally quoted) - I decided to call a professional. I spoke with Shaheen at Aakash Travels and laid out my specifications. Shaheen listened intently and was quickly able to identify the airlines that would likely offer the best fares and most convenience (e.g., limited stops, connections, etc.). After our initial conversation, Shaheen quickly got me an itinerary that worked well (limited number of connections; adequate time between connections for immigration, customs; and no long layovers), and for about $100 less than the lowest internet travel engine prices (and about $200 less than an internet consolidator). Completing the transaction was easy, Shaheen made the reservation and sent me the itinerary via a link to a website. After approval, I simply charged it to my credit card. I had a great experience working with Shaheen at Aakash Travels. She was professional, knowledgable and easy to work with. If one finds themselves taking an international trip - it is worth a few minutes to check with Aakash Travels to see if they can either save you some money through a consolidator airfare or come up with a more convenient itinerary.

We worked with Katy and she was super helpful. After countless emails and long chats on the phone, she put together the perfect itinerary for us! Our honeymoon started in Marbella, Spain, then we flew to Naples to head to the Amalfi coast, and our last stop was in Paris. She worked out all the travel arrangements between countries including car service to and from the airport to the hotel. She also had lots of knowledge on each city we were traveling to! Once our honeymoon began, all we had to do was follow the detailed itinerary they provided us with that contained all flight, hotel and transfer information. It was very smooth! Katy was also available the whole time if we needed to email or call her with questions or concerns. It was nice having that security while so far from home; especially when our luggage was temporarily lost in Italy and I was freaking out! Katy worked on making sure the luggage was located and safely delivered to our hotel. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend using CIRE Travel for your dream honeymoon or vacation!
