We wanted Winnie to have her trial day this week since we're planning to board her this weekend while we're out of town. We met both Jennifer and Jake (the owners) and they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful! I called on Monday to schedule our trial day and Jennifer emailed me the paperwork right away. I was thrilled we were able to get Winnie in the next day! Some things that stood out to me: they have someone stay overnight at the facility with the dogs when you board them. This makes me feel more comfortable leaving Winnie with them! They also ask that you bring 1. Extra food and 2. Something that smells like home to make your dog more comfortable (only when boarding). That way if an emergency arises and they end up needing to keep your pup longer, it's no problem! Even the part timers were great with Winnie and seemed to genuinely love dogs. We were worried about leaving her for the trial day, but the guy who was there when we picked her up said she did great, which we were happy about. After her trial day I feel more comfortable leaving Winnie in their capable hands. Thank you for making this dog mom feel more at ease about leaving her fur baby!

Katie has given us a much needed resource to relieve this stress. The dogs come back much calmer and she gives us much needed information on muscle tightness and anxiety points. She was so approachable, understanding, and really went into the details of what option would best support my tiny fur children. Fast forward 3 months and we just wrapped up our in-home training package with Maureen! I cannot stress how amazing the entire experience was. Maureen has truly changed our lives for the better. Where we started to where we are now is night and day better, especially for my more aggressive dog Luna! We went from no one being able to enter our apartment with the dogs out to now the dogs just hanging out when people are here! Maureen is patient with pets AND people. She is always positive and really explains the WHY of the behaviors and outcomes. She's always on time, super professional, and gave us practical tools that actually work to truly set our dogs up for success but also US up for success as "parents" Honestly, I am a little sad Maureen is so great at her job because we will miss her coming over! She was rescued from a situation where she was primarily outdoors so playing on cement or indoor artificial flooring seemed to be too foreign for her. But when we were recommended Dog Country Dog Camp and learned the dogs get to be outside on acres of fenced in land, we thought this sounded perfect for her. Indeed it was! Being able to be outside in nature with lots of room to run, roll around, dig, play, and even drink from a stream there was no competition. She can let loose and do long stents of zoomies across the land and has made some best dog friends. She returns exhausted and is snoozing and dreaming within minutes. She has been going to Dog Country Dog Camp for about a year now and it is still by FAR her favorite place in the world to go to. If we happen to be home when they come to pick her up and she sees the van pull up she pulls us to it. In fact, she loves Dayna and Zach so much she often doesn't even look back at us when they come, where we would have to force her to go into the other daycare places and try to ignore her sad eyes looking at us. This is such a HUGE relief to us and feel so thankful to them to take care of our girl. If you love your dogs like family and want the best for them, you can't do better than Canine State of Mind! When my wife and I moved to Chicago last Spring, we were really concerned about where we could safely and comfortably leave our dogs. We love to travel and we can't enjoy ourselves fully if we aren't 100% sure our fur babies are being treated as well as we do, and we certainly can't enjoy ourselves knowing that they are stuck in a concrete kennel for most of a day or only able to go outside for short periods. We had a trip to Norway planned right after moving here and at the last minute our dog sitter fell through. Enter Sasha and Canine State of Mind! She went out of her way to make sure she had space for our girls, she told us about her farm and the grounds the dogs are on, how they get to spend their time, and it sounded like Doggie summer camp. That's exactly what it is! Our girls get to run around the grounds, have plenty of time outside and with the other dogs, and truly enjoy themselves! Just look at the photo of them running and smiling with bandanas on at CSoM! I can't speak to the training but knowing Sasha and having used them many times now, I would bet $s to dog food that it is life changing and you won't find better if you want to help your dog behaviorally, and you also need help to make sure they can be their best selves. Even without doing the training, we've noticed all around improvements in their confidence, happiness, and sociability. After living outside by the beach and seeing few dogs for 2 years prior to moving here, they were pretty reactive and unruly. I could tell that they were stressed out, but I couldn't help them, and it's impossible to avoid other dogs and people on the 606. Literally, the first time they came back from the farm that was gone and I attribute that to the environment Sasha and her team create. She helped them remember that they were safe and confident and comfortable around strange dogs and strange people. TLDR: Just use them. If you love your dogs like we do, you could never find a better place for them to stay and enjoy their own vacation while you enjoy your own! To the negative reviews about "not getting your dog back" or "not getting any pictures", I'm sorry you had bad experiences but I can't relate. They are always responsive but not immediately so, and that's fine. Enjoy your own vacation and trust the process. They never miss pick ups and drop offs. I will admit that I find the lack of photos frustrating but I also understand that the dogs are being allowed to be dogs rather than being photographed and isn't that what's most important? Plus, shouldn't I be in the moment myself and enjoying where I am instead of stressing out about what my dogs are up to at every given moment?

Please look for the Facebook post that shows the pictures of this place - it's very different than how it's marketed. I never actually boarded my dog here because the interactions leading up to it gave me too many red flags. I initially scheduled a discovery call with the owner, but she never called. After multiple follow-ups on my end, communication was either very delayed or minimal. When we finally connected, she apologized and explained she had been out of town. We discussed my dog's needs, and she confirmed she could accommodate the dates I needed. One thing that immediately stood out to me was being told owners are not allowed on-site to visit. After our call, I then received texts requesting full payment upfront, with a "one-time exception" of only requiring 50% down. Given that the booking was still more than four months away, I wasn't comfortable with that arrangement. I was also pressured to make a decision quickly because there were supposedly others waiting for the same dates. Overall, something about the situation didn't feel right to me. After doing additional research online on Facebook including reading comments from a former employee, I became even more uncomfortable with some of the practices that were described and photos that were shared. It's unfortunate because the concept and branding had a lot of potential. I just personally didn't feel confident moving forward with my dog's care there and it's quite concerning to see so many positive reviews mask the negative ones which speak of great concern.

We spent years trying everything you can imagine -- private trainers, group classes, small workshops, different training styles -- and none of it ever really helped. We poured so much time, money, and emotional energy into trying to make things better for her, but we were still stuck. It was heartbreaking. When we found out we'd be moving to the EU, we honestly didn't know how we were going to make it work. The idea of flying with her, or even just navigating a new environment full of dogs, felt completely impossible. We had seen so many positive reviews for Canine Perspectives, but we didn't really understand e-collar training and were nervous about it. Then we talked to Jesse. Within minutes, we felt completely at ease. He explained everything so clearly -- how the e-collar works, why he uses it, what the process would look like -- and we realized we were in the hands of someone who truly knew what he was doing. More importantly, someone who genuinely cared. And the change that followed... I don't think we'll ever fully be able to express how much it meant to us. In just two weeks, Jesse accomplished what years of training never even came close to. Our dog was suddenly able to walk near other dogs without melting down. We weren't tense and on edge every time we left the house. We could actually enjoy taking her out. The relief we felt is something we still get emotional about. It wasn't just her behavior that changed -- our entire lives changed with it. We got our freedom back. We weren't trapped inside or constantly overwhelmed by guilt and stress. And for the first time, we felt like we could truly give her the life she deserved. Her progress was so incredible that we were able to fly with her internationally, something we would've laughed at if you told us a year ago. Now we're living in the EU, surrounded by off-leash dogs and super dog-friendly spaces, and she's able to be part of it all. She comes with us everywhere. She's confident. She's happy. And we're no longer terrified of what every outing will look like. It feels like we have a completely different dog -- or maybe like we finally get to see the version of her we always hoped was possible. None of this would have happened without Jesse. He didn't just help our dog; he gave us our lives back. We are endlessly grateful, and we truly cannot recommend him and Canine Perspectives enough.

While every aspect of the program was fantastic, two things really stood out. First, the team genuinely cares about every dog--it's clear in everything they do. As first-time puppy owners, they gave us the skills and confidence we needed, and the progress our puppy made was incredible. We can now take him places and truly enjoy the experience. We initially signed up for six weeks but extended it by three more because of how much progress he was making--and because we knew the impact would be long-lasting. We're even planning to bring him back this summer for additional off-leash training (and because we're pretty sure he misses it!). I can't say enough positive things about the facilities, the staff, and the level of care they provide. They're always available to answer questions and show a genuine investment in each dog's success. It's also such a relief to have found a place we trust for boarding and grooming.
