This spot, hands down, makes *the* best arepas and chapapas I've ever had. And I only say those items because that's all I've tried here so far. Every single bite of the meal had us making "mmmm" sounds. It's the type of food spot that you crave again the next day, and the next. We found this spot while running errands in the area, and visiting another food truck nearby. It is very easy to drive past, so you need to slow down early and really look out when it's your first time trying to locate it. The truck is on a busy highway, but on your right there's a small parking lot, then building with shops, and directly following that is the entrance to the lot for Arepas donde Flor. Roughly 3-4 cars can fit. Her food is made to order, from scratch, so be patient with the wait -- or order ahead online. Although I will say, everything I've gotten here has been absolutely worth the wait. I mean, after running errands in the area I tried to come back for seconds but they were closed. P.S. I've been here a few times now, and it's quickly become one of my favorite food trucks in the Ruskin area. So far I've tried the Arepa Jamón y Queso, the Tostón Carne Mechada, and the Tequeños. Everything has been consistently fresh and flavorful. The shredded beef on the tostón was tender and well-seasoned, and the crispy plantain paired perfectly with it. The ham and cheese arepa is simple but really satisfying. My daughters have one request every time we come here... don't forget the tequeños! They absolutely love them, so they're now a must-order whenever we visit. One thing I wasn't expecting was how much I liked their green sauce. If you're ordering here, definitely ask for it. It has just the right amount of flavor and goes well with just about everything we ordered. The owner has always been friendly and welcoming, which makes coming back even easier. The food isn't rushed, but that's actually something I appreciate because every order we've received has come out fresh and piping hot. Even though it's a food truck, they have a covered patio with tables if you want to eat there. We've done that once, but we've also picked it up and taken it home several times. Either way, the food has been consistently good. If you're in the Ruskin or Apollo Beach area and have been wanting to try Venezuelan food, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a shot. Finally ran by for lunch today--this has been on my list forever. Arepas Donde Flor is an old-school food truck conveniently located behind Napa Auto Parts off of College Blvd. not much to look at, but I still had hope. I ordered the Capira, an arepa loaded with chicken and cheese. The ten minute wait was a good sign that I'd homemade. The arepa was good, definitely full of chicken and the cheeses were melted into the package. Overall, Arepas Donde Flor is with a stop-good food, good service at a decent price. read more

Having lived and worked in Caracas, Venezuela, I fell in love with arepas filled with beans and cheese (called 'domino' in Spanish). When I moved to Florida, I searched for a place which made them. We found Arepas Donde Flor several years ago, when the owner was located at the side of the road in Riverview. The food here is truly delicious and authentic Venezuelan food (I was born and raised there) I only give it 4 stars because there was only one person working and she took about 20 - 30 minutes per order because she made everything fresh (again so good!) but she really needed another person to help her. Arepas Donde Flor is an amazing place to eat when you are looking for something savory and authentic. I have been eating here for years and my favorite dishes to order are the Tostones and the Reina Pepiada Arepa. although I might be a little biased because all of her food is good you can't go wrong. Her food does take about 10-15 minutes or more depending on the traffic that day which is completely worth it!! people don't understand that this is a small business and there is only one chef running the entire truck by herself. The food is made from scratch so it's fresh!! (Don't expect to get your food in 2 min if that's the case go get some frozen patty McDonald's lol) It doesn't look like much when you pass by her truck but believe me when I say you will not regret it. Also her special sauce is amazing goes great with anything you eat definitely recommend bringing your kids here, taking food to go for dinner after work if you're tired and you don't want to cook which I've done plenty of times, Or even just a one on one experience with your partner! Found them on doordash, never had them before and we are officially hooked. My husband got the Arepa Pelúa (the hairy one), it was his first Arepa ever and he's in love. I got the Tostones Carne Mechada and holy fudgecake the Tostones edges are sooo good and the shredded beef is very flavorful without the flavor overwhelming the Tostones. Since my brother is a vegetarian they were able to make Tostones Pollo Mechada without the chicken. He loves Tostones and has been trying them from various places and he said this is the best Tostones he had ever had. Can't wait to actually go here and try all the other food they have. read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews! I stumbled upon arepas donde flor when picking up food from another near by and boy am I so happy I tried arepas donde flor!! I got the shredded beef arepa (the hairy one) and was so surprised on how juicy and tasty the arepa was. I got 2 beef arepas and both came with sauces to complement it. I suggest trying it without to get the real taste of all the ingredients in one bite. The bread was also amazing, with the whole arepa being a good size amount for how much you pay for. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the foods on the menu. I have to say, arepas are a hit or miss in places across Florida but this food truck is 100% worth a try! I hope more people come to try in Riverview as it deserves way more credibility for the authentic food. 5 stars for me! read more
