Amazzziiinnnggg food. Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious. The mini arepas were so flavorful and fresh. Everything made here is healthy so that a plus. This is my new spot in the burg. A few things the restaurant is very small with a few seats inside and outside. Also, there was a bit of a wait because of the lunchtime rush so I recommend you order your food in advance. If you already know what you want, if it's your first time like myself going in is probably the best bet. Just make sure you have some time to wait. In my opinion, if they expand the restaurant to a bigger spot, they would kill it in Saint Pete. Can't wait to come back and try the empanadas and the other dishes that they have. The guy in the front was sweet and welcoming as well.
I have family in Venezuela, but somehow I'd never tried authentic Venezuelan food -- not even an arepa, the undisputed queen of Venezuelan cuisine! Luckily, while visiting a relative in St. Pete, we discovered we were just a block away from 11 Chicks Venezuelan Restaurant. My brother had been hyping this place up ever since he moved to St. Petersburg, so it was an absolute no-brainer to finally check it out. Wow -- I'm officially ruined for all other food. I ordered the Cachapa (a sweet corn pancake folded around a ridiculous amount of melted cheese), and because I have no self-control, I added chicharrón. Game over. That crunchy, porky goodness took it to another stratosphere. We also split the Chick #1 Carne Asada -- a smaller arepa absolutely stuffed with tender, juicy grilled steak. Don't let the size fool you; it was surprisingly filling and perfectly seasoned. The food alone would have been enough to win me over, but the customer service sealed the deal. Everyone was so warm and welcoming -- it genuinely felt like eating at a family member's house. Curious about the name, I asked the story behind "11 Chicks." Turns out the owners grew up in a house with 11 women (mothers, sisters, aunts -- the whole crew), and everyone pitched in to turn their dream into this incredible restaurant. Such a cool, heartfelt backstory. If you're anywhere near St. Petersburg, do yourself a favor and go to 11 Chicks. I'm already plotting my next visit... and maybe moving my brother closer to it isn't off the table.

They also have limited hours, so check online before you go. I thought the prices were reasonable for St Pete. We tried the arepa sliders and Venezuelan empanadas. I loved the sliders. It was a great assortment of meats and styles to try. Since the empanadas and arepa dough is made with corn flour, 11 Chicks is also a great option for those avoiding gluten. We decided to try one of the kombuchas they sell - it was one of the best I've had (pineapple yuzu flavor) and we were impressed to see they are made locally right in St Pete! Highly recommend this place, and can't wait to come back.

This place has become a St Pete staple for me! The Venezuelan empanadas are stellar! so flavorful with a great dough for the empanada. get the pabellon! The bowls (and sauces) are also great! I haven't had anything bad here. Great for a quick bite
Authentic authentic authentic! Best arepas I've ever had. They will the arepas with your choice of meat and the portions are VERY generous. This is a must try. Every time we travel St. Pete to visit my daughter at USF we eat here, even my teenage daughter loves it, so it's great for the entire family.
Super nice with a modern feel and the staff is happy to make recommendations for those of us who may not be familiar with Venezuelan food. Lots of carry out orders while I was waiting for my food and fairly heavy foot traffic for 1pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Stopped in for lunch and had trouble finding a table. A good sign that this is a great place. I ordered the Chick #3 arepa at the recommendation of the gentleman working behind the counter. It's a plain arepa with pork belly, grilled cheese, tomatoes, avocado and chimichurri sauce. I heard others order the same thing while I was waiting, so I was pretty confident about my order. I also went with the Top 3 appetizer arepa sliders to get a sampling of others.. carne asada, jerk chicken and chicken salad.. each served with white cheese and homemade cilantro aliolo and hot sauce. Both sauces were pretty tasty, but I think I liked the cilantro just a tad bit more. Service was fast and the food was delicious.
Food was so fire. The little strip is a gem. Service was great. Small spot but have cute outdoor sitting for a nice day.

Jerk chicken arepa as extremely large and had great flavor, although did not taste like actual jerk chicken. Fast service I ordered the 1 cheese and one beef empanadas. They were excellent. I plan to go back and try the Venezuelan ones made with corn tortillas too. The empanadas are served with both a green and red sauce. Red is a little spicier. Both are great pairings. Really cute decor inside too. Comfortable seating with spanish music.
When the grandma brings the food out, you want to believe it's good! And it was! What a cozy, welcoming little restaurant! Greeted and taken care of quickly at the front counter. Split room, clean, and happy spot. We ordered the carne assada arepa and pork belly arepa. It was my first time eating one and oh my goodness! It was delicious!! Perfectly seasoned, warm, and yummy as is says on their wall! Definitely worth checking it out! You might even get to hear the waitress sing along the music playing in the restaurant! Fun!
Blown away by these tasty Venezuelan empanadas! We just grabbed an order to-go of the Pabellon (beef, plantains, black beans and cheese), $9. Which comes with 3 empanadas, we ended up getting one chicken one instead of all beef with our order. So we got to try that one too, it was pretty tasty too. The chicken wasn't dry either. These empanadas come out super hot, so we had to wait a few minutes to eat them. They had almost a funnel cake smell to them, maybe there's sugar in the dough. Service was nice, they did take a little long on making our order but probably because they made them fresh. The entry is a little confusing, there's two doors, you'll have to enter the further one. I'll definitely be back to try other items!
My two favorites are the jerk chicken and this one featured: Paisa, which has shredded beef, sausage, two types of Venezuelan cheese, rice beans a fried egg and sweet plantain and avocado. IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD! I ate inside. You can look at the menu, order, pay and then be brought your food. It's a tiny place with like five or six tables and one covered table outside. I don't care if you eat it in your car, there are other spots that attempt selling stuffed arepas and I swear on God, this is THE BEST. I have been coming here for well over a decade. You will not be disappointed. I love this place, thank you for this St. Pete gift. read more

Still such amazing place. I love their fresh juices and delicious arepas! Their sauces are the perfect complement! The portion sizes are amazing to I love being able to take home enough for another snack! The owner or manager is so friendly and helpful too! read more

So glad I stumbled into here after looking for just somewhere to park. Good lord this place is delicious. "Top 3 Arepas". So. Freaking. Delicious. $9. You get a variett of little mini arepas, chicken salad one, pork belly (I think) and pollo. Empanadas: You can get one chicken and one beef. I think $8 total for 2 All made fresh to order so it's about 15 minutes for the order. Ugh, wish they had one near my home! read more

We went to try the tequenos specifically , they were delicious and the sauces (salsas) were equally as yummy . We each got an arepa that was filled to the brim. The exterior was crisp and the cheese was delicious. They were very hard to eat , it would be nice to have sturdier cutlery as we could not even really cut with the plastic . Glad they expanded into a larger space . It was counter service , the gentleman taking our order wasn't very enthusiastic as we inquired about the menu. Overall great experience the food was tasty and we will certainly be back. Likely, for take out . read more

Fui a este restaurante con la intención de disfrutar buena comida latina, pero lamentablemente la experiencia dejó mucho que desear. Para empezar, no aceptan efectivo y tampoco ofrecen ninguna opción para verificar billetes, lo cual resulta poco práctico y excluyente para muchas personas. El trato del personal deja mucho que desear: no son respetuosos y pareciera que juzgan a los clientes por su apariencia. En mi caso, al ir vestida con ropa de trabajo de construcción, decidieron darme la comida para llevar sin siquiera preguntar, como si no mereciera quedarme a comer en el lugar. Curiosamente, cuando el dueño está presente, todo cambia: el servicio mejora, la atención es amable y se siente un ambiente diferente. Lamentablemente, sin él, la calidad en el trato y la organización se pierde por completo. La comida puede ser buena, pero una mala atención empaña toda la experiencia. Ojalá tomen en cuenta estos detalles y mejoren el servicio al cliente, porque el respeto no debería depender de quién está al frente ni de cómo uno se vista. We are new to the area and came here for a great lunch. It was super busy, so the area to order was pretty packed and we waited in line for about 15 minutes. I ordered the arepa sliders and the tequeños, we were warned it would take 20-30 mins but we weren't in a rush and didn't mind waiting because we really wanted to try this spot. Luckily, we got in during a perfect time and were able to snag a spot to sit but others weren't as lucky and had to stand around while we ate until they could sit. The food was great! The beef was flavorful and the tequeños were good too. 2 of them were still a little frozen inside which was sad but the ones that were fried properly were still so delicious. We'll return for sure, and try something different! read more

I brought my mom here who is from Costa Rica. Since we can't find a great authentic Costa Rican restaurant, we decided to come here. This place is amazing! It may not be a physically large restaurant, but the food and service are A+. The decor inside is lively & colorful. The ladies that work here are super nice. The food is delicious! We ordered a chicken empanada and a beef empanada as appetizers. I ordered the Tropical Bowl which was so good! I want to go back and try more foods. read more

Hands down the best food we had while in Florida. Absolutely no contest. I ordered the Venezuelan Bowl, which was Jasmine rice cooked in coconut oil, with fried plantains, black beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, avocado, Venezulean sauce and choice of meat (I picked jerk chicken). You wouldn't think something sounding so simple could be so mind blowing but it was and i was so sad to have to see an empty bowl in front of me at the end of that meal. I am sure the employees thought we were crazy white people but we must have said three times how great everything was and we were so happy to have found this place. Had it been closer to where we were staying I think we would have come here for every meal. Please open a second location in Kentucky? LOL read more

Welcome to Venezuela! This place is the real deal. How do I know? For the entire hour that we were inside, a steady mob of Spanish-speaking people came in & out. The energy inside was electric. 11Chicks grabs your attention as you approach. It almost looks eclectic. Inside, the great South American music sweeps you in the mood. The menu transports you to another country. I felt like I was whisked away to Venezuela during my lunch hour. The food was amazing! I had Venezuelan Empanadas & a Jerk Chicken Arepa. It contained cheese, seasoned chicken, plantains, avocado, & a special sauce. It was totally satisfying. On top of that we were provided with 2 fun sauces. One was a garlic pesto sauce....the other was a jalapeño sauce with a little kick. I enjoyed both equally. Finally I ordered a well-made cafe con leche. The only blip in the experience was when I got the bill. I had to have the lady at the counter correct the bill. She had overcharged on two items by several dollars. She was kind & handled it well, but I recommend you check your bill carefully. Outside of that, this place is a solid 5! read more

They don't seem to be open anymore. I'm heartbroken. Every time I go past during their normal business hours, they are not open. Doesn't even look like they opened for carry out either. Anyone know what's going on with 11 Chicks?
A branch fell on the roof and disabled things so the kitchen was not functional. Keep checking in. It should be ready soon.
