    Fried pork and Tequenos
    Shani H.

Tried this place because I was craving crispy pork and Tequenos. The Tequenos were delicious. They were a decent size and the dough was cooked perfectly. However, the fried pork was really tough and over cooked. I liked the flavor so I might give them another try but I would specify that I want more tender pieces or I would just opt for pastry items like empanadas.

    Patacones with steak

Went here for the first time and i will definitely be back. We had the patacones with steak and it was so yummy! Very flavorful and the meat was so tender. I also had the passion fruit juice and it was great as well! I can't believe such a yummy place is in the mall, but I'm grateful it's so close! The staff was also very friendly and gave us the recommendation to try this!

Great Food, Inadequate Performance This is a small restaurant that brands itself as a convenient location to get a meal. The food tastes great. The prices feel on the high side but you won't be left unsatisfied. Inside the tables are small, the chairs are hard (which is difficult when it takes 20 minutes to get your order), and the sun shines in an unpleasant way through the windows in the evenings. There isn't much seating and the menu on the screens are lacking in information for first-time customers. I would recommend asking to look at a paper menu. The employee taking our order was friendly and helpful but when we received our food, our order was not accurate. This also happened to the people who ordered after us. Additionally, someone else discovered that one of their tequenos was missing all of its filling. We also had an issue with the employee not knowing how to replace the paper in the receipt machine, and inconsistent messaging when it came to signing up for the rewards program. This all occurred in the short time that we took to eat our meal. All of these problems were addressed eventually. My only complaint about the food is that the arepas become soggy for the last few bites ruining the closing experience. Perhaps those preparing the food are not draining the ingredients sufficiently prior to putting the arepa together. The 3 stars are because the food was a highlight, but this restaurant will likely not stay in business if they don't get their act together. I will likely return, probably alone, and will make use of the drive through next time.

GREAT quality cultural food in the mall, also Maltin is a plus Chesse and guava Tequeños are sooo good, sweet and chewy and savory.

    Fried plantains

Enjoyed some yummy arepas for lunch. I felt like they were a bit pricey given how simple the ingredients were, but I honestly don't know how much labor goes into making them and I don't care to make my own arepas. The sauces were great as were the fried plantains. This place is located in the South Town mall food court.

Pastel-From Arempas at South Town Mall

I ordered "The best plate" according to the menu (Pabellón), the "sweet" plantains as the description of the plate... are not sweet; they are just plantains. If you know about Latin cuisine, you know there is a big difference between both. I also ordered the pasteles, and the dough was raw. Talked to the guy "in charge," the one cooking the food at the South Town Mall location, and his answer was, You didn't want them so dark. which they were already dark, my immediate thought was... so then were you going to serve them to me burned? I said I knew how to cook, and before I finished my sentence, he cut me off and said... Yes, I know you know how to cook. You are a woman. What does that have to do with knowing how to cook? He is...? a man? So men don't know how to cook? according to him. My point was that the dough is raw because the oil is too hot!!! He definitely doesn't know the basics in the kitchen!! So they just cook the outside, and the inside of the dough remains uncooked. Never again will I eat at that place!! not worth your money!

For a fast food place, this was pretty awesome. The arepa tastes like it was made with love, and the service was amazing.

No tiene queso de mano!? Solo que mozzarella!!! La carne mechada está muy rica pero manejo casi 9 millas por un cachapa normal tradicional

Nothing exciting here. Never tried Venezuelan fare, but gave it a shot. Disappointed.

Probably the best mall food court food I've had in years. I'll come back to this mall for these empanadas.

Fairly basic on the inside with dark wooden tables and not much light. That said it was cozy and we were very comfortable. The meals are very large. My wife ordered Picada Reina Lucero, which had several varieties of meat, white cheese, tartar sauce on top and two sides of other sauces, one a chunky green sauce and a smooth white sauce that mostly tasted like salty butter. The meat was piled on top of fried arepas. My BIL ordered a half chicken and an empanada with pork. The empanada was large and the pork filling was delicious. The chicken was flavorful and cooked perfectly. I ordered the De La Casa Arepones with shredded beef. Ham, cheese and sauce were served along with the delicious shredded beef. This is the only item we ordered that could be considered as a single serving, but even at that it was a lot of food. If I'm in the area I will not hesitate to stop in again and explore more of their menu.

They are huge, one could feed 3 people. I had the chriozo, but it was like hillshire smoked sausage. I would say get the chicken with smoked meats and fried pork. Pass on the Tostones, they were not fried, they were baked and very dry so pass on those. Place has a cool vibe, and decor. You can bring a marker and write on the wall.
