ARE Solar went above and beyond when I had a leak in the roof. Super responsive company reps. Would recommend them to others.

The team ran into some problems that were outside of their control and handled them extremely well. The spray makes a mess but they covered beforehand, and then cleaned up very well afterwards. Re cost, I obtained seven estimates. Only two came in cheaper, and I those estimators did not leave me with a good level of confidence that they would have quality work.

We purchased a new home in '21 and knew we wanted to do at least three things right off the bat: 1)…read moreinsulate the attic, 2) install solar, and 3) an EV charger. I was pleased to find that REenergizeCO did them all and were more than just an installer but on mission to increase energy efficiency. From start to finish communication was fantastic. They first did the insulation and we noticed a difference almost immediately. They also took care of submitting the Xcel rebate paperwork for it. The solar panels and EVSE came a bit later. Again, they took care of all the paperwork with Xcel. The system has been working without flaw since and saving us tons of money in this inflated energy cost environment. We had them out recently to detach and reset the panels for a roof replacement. They took the opportunity to slightly tweak the layout for better efficiency. Still the same commitment to quality!

I want to be absolutely…read moreclear so nothing gets lost: the communication, customer service, and basic professionalism I received were shockingly poor, and I deeply regret choosing this company. Photon Brothers wasted 6 months of my time and cost me roughly $17,000 due to their negligence. I repeat, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CHOOSE PHOTON BROTHERS. There are many solar companies out there, take your business elsewhere!! This is a company that puts customer service LAST and will throw you under the bus and leave you hanging the when issues arise and they need to do something that inconveniences them or impacts their bottom line despite contracts, written and verbal promises and basic honorable/professional business norms. Our family moved into our new home in June and immediately began comparing solar proposals. I ultimately chose Photon because Sam Johnson (senior sales rep) appeared knowledgeable. I was explicit with Sam about the type of roof and shingle I had--I even sent him the official documentation from the roofing company detailing the type of roof and shingle. He assured me multiple times that Photon could handle it and told me he had built extra labor costs into the contract for exactly that reason. We signed a contract and approved financing. Then came the site visit with the installation supervisor, Drew Perry. I was on the roof with Drew as he inspected everything. He told me directly that the roof was suitable and we were "good to go." Every step of the way, Photon reassured me the system would be installed before year-end so I would receive substantial expiring federal tax credits. Throughout this process, I repeatedly checked in with the project manager, Kaitlyn Martinez. Responses were rare, slow, and unhelpful--but when she did reply, she also confirmed everything was on track for installation before year end. Install day--November 24--was when it all fell apart. Only that morning did the installation team realize they had completely overlooked the shingle type and couldn't install the system, even though I had disclosed this upfront and even though their own supervisor had inspected the roof in person. The install crew told me they messed up and would make it right and still get it done before year end. Kaitlyn (project manager) called--one of the only times she ever did--and assured me there would be no added cost and they would still complete the project by year end, I was reassured again that they would uphold the contract and their promises. That turned out to be untrue. After several incredibly frustrating conversations with Sam and co-owner John Johnson, where I had to constantly call them for updates, I was finally told that Photon would NOT complete the project at all. They openly admitted they made the mistake but refused to honor the contract or their repeated promises because it would cost them more in labor. John specifically told me that--even though the error was entirely on their side--they were not willing to take the financial hit to fix it and I was just out of luck. They refused any sort of compensation for my lost time and money. John initially tried to blame me because I had a difficult roof, then blamed Drew Perry (instillation supervisor), then blamed his Ops team then just told me verbatim "construction is difficult" and I need to understand that, so too bad for me. As a result, I've lost more than six months of time and a ~$17,000 tax credit, all because Photon Brothers failed to do their job, failed to communicate, and then refused to take responsibility for their own mistake. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering this company. They overpromise, underdeliver, and when their internal failures come to light, they deflect, delay, and ultimately leave the customer holding the bag. I cannot recommend them under any circumstances.

We contracted ECO Roofing and Solar in August 2021 hoping to have a new roof before winter that…read moreyear. It was a nightmare from nearly the beginning. Over promising and under-delivering contractor, poor workmanship and worse quality control. Oh, and no completed roof even after the FOLLOWING winter! It took two seasons to complete the work--and then, unsatisfactory and incomplete. I discovered yesterday when a real roofing company inspected my chimney flashing (yes--the flashing installed by ECO Roofing and Solar when they replaced my roof) that--as you guessed, was not performed to industry standards. Here's the roofer's report from yesterday: "Hey XXXXXX, I got a look at XXXXX. Chimney flashing details are horrible there. Looks like they just used scrap metal leftover from the metal panel roofing. They tried nailing it into the stone chimney with Roofing nails didn't seal gaps. It's pretty bad. I need to think of a way to fix it without tearing into the da Vinci shakes. Those are Bellaforte shakes, they have been discontinued and are no longer available. I'll get back to you with a repair proposal. Here are the photos I took (see attached photos)." There is little doubt that the ECO team knew nobody would be up on our very high, very steep roof until a leak would inevitably appear. It is the opinion of my new roofer that the corners ECO cut (which predictably developed into a roof leak) wouldn't be discovered until a leak appeared. They were right about that. It took a leak to discover the poor workmanship on the roof. According to the BBB, on 09/23/2024, the business filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the federal Bankruptcy Act, case# 24-15628-JGR. This permits the business to continue to operate with court supervision while developing a plan of reorganization. Those with monetary claims against the business are advised to obtain a Proof of Claim form by writing to US Bankruptcy Court District of Colorado (Denver) 721 19th St Denver CO 80202 for resubmission to that court. The case number should be entered on the form. Claims must be submitted by 03/24/2025. Unfortunately for me and countless other victims, evidenced by a pile of litigation filed against owner Dylan Lucas and ECO Roofing and Solar, there's a long line of damaged individuals, suppliers, business partners, and others they've done wrong. Is it too late to collect damages incurred prior to the reorganization? Probably. The good news is (if you're still following along) is that it's not too late at all to protect yourself against this business and its owner--who, long before the bankruptcy filing, ABSOLUTELY REFUSED ANY AND ALL COMMUNICATION WITH ME. I have hundreds of emails between me and ECO--most of them dealt with broken promises and missed appointments. There are TONS of competitors to choose from in Colorado--Denver metro, front range, and Vail Valley. Don't settle for a proven loser. Beware, ECO still appears to be in business--and still (according to most recent Yelp reviews) they're racking up unhappy customers at an impressive pace. This latest saga is going to cost me yet more $$$! It's like a bad nightmare that doesn't have an end.
