One of our full-time neighbors remarked about how carefully they prepped and stained surfaces, including those that are less visible. (We selected Armstrong-Clark's semi-transparent Sierra Redwood oil-based stain on the 26-year-old cedar siding, which we had used on the previous re-staining job 18 years ago.)

October 2025 We just…read morehad our exterior and interior home painted by Jim (J&M Painting) in Pioneer, CA. Jim took the time to explain in detail what he was going to do. His bid was very reasonable. The results are stunning. The crew did an enormous amount of prep work, including some plaster repair, making sure all surfaces were perfect before painting. The house looks brand new. We couldn't be happier with their professionalism and craftsmanship. The team was communicative, hardworking, and highly respectful. Jim's positive attitude made the whole process worry-free. We live out of town, and it's been a challenge at times to get a professional to answer our calls. We even trusted Jim to pick the colors since he is also a design expert. Randa Thurman Von Essen

The…read moremain home single color now has two separate, very different colors; that is, the paint used in one area is behaving significantly differently than that in other areas. Some of the house is still green, some of it is now becoming purple. The areas of paint that face the weather have fared really badly with flaking, peeling, and many gaps. It already needs a complete re-painting, which seems too early. So as much as I appreciated working with the company, there are some issues that have appeared that are disappointing.

That preparation was not done properly, and the job was completed very quickly. Within about a year, the paint started peeling in multiple areas. The deck paint also wore off, and we had to repaint the deck ourselves. I reached out to the company about the peeling paint and the quality of the work, but I received no response. We are extremely disappointed with the quality of the work. We paid for proper preparation and a durable paint job, and that is not what we received. Because we are not local, we relied on them to do the work correctly without us being there to supervise. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. We would not hire this company again.
