Now it is true what they say is that you get what you paid for and when these sales like this happens you can actually afford these shoes and they will last. My black patten wedges which is now going on their third summer look like new. John David shoes has been around for sometime and specializes in high quality high fashions shoes. Most of the boots seemed to have a lot of the crocodile skin look in flashy colours. And other than boots, it was mostly strappy, open-toed heals, some of which still had the croc skin look. Not that I have anything against that look, some people can really pull it off. But it's not for me. The shoe pricing was still pretty expensive, even though there was a %50 off sale. I couldn't imagine seeing the actually cost of those shoes. I'm probably just jealous that I can't afford them though. I guess a lot of people can because the store was pretty full of women. In fact, there wasn't an open seat to try anything on because there were so many people in there. There was one really nice salesguy that I encountered. I was looking at some flats and he came over and told me that most of them had a built-in gel cushions or insoles. He took a moment to show me what he meant, then smiled and walked to someone else. I loved that he didn't stick around by my side and shop with me, much like some other salespeople might. It was just a nice experience that I thought I'd share with you.

I am a shoe shopper and nothing puts a bigger smile on my face more than a comfy, sexy pair of heals, or a cozy pair of slippers, or a casual pair of flats or even a pair of Nike runners for when I need to get out for a stroll. The Shoe Company has great selections at a reasonable price. I can usually get a pair of good quality shoes for under $50.00. I sometimes find it hard to get my size. Most times, they have a lot of size 7 and 8's left but when it comes down to finding a pair of size 9's, it's scarce. The staff is quite helpful though and are quick to offer assistance with calling another store. I am a fan of The Shoe Company and will continue to shop especially in the Dartmouth Crossing. Much better selection there!

Bought a pair and then when I got them home I wanted to put them on and walk around the house to make sure they felt good, I did walk outside on my deck for about 10 mins. and then took them back off. My toe was hitting at the end of the sneaker making it uncomfortable. I decided to return them. Well that was the beginning of the worst experience I had. I wish I would have gotten the employees name but I didn't she was the most ignorant, unfriendly retail associate that I have ever met. I have worked in retail for a long time. She went on to tell me that they were too dirty and worn and she couldn't expect to sell these to another customer. She proceeded to tell me that she wasn't suppose to tell me but I could sell them on Market Place or give them to a donation place. She then she told me she could give me 20% of my purchase back to me. I looked at her and told her no thanks and walked out of the store. My sneakers by no means were dirty and definitely not worn. I will never again shop at the Shoe Company and I will be letting lots of people know what terrible customers service I received!

While the existing shoe stores in the HSC are fairly small in general, their men's sections are (naturally) a fraction of that, and nearly all of that is dedicated to dress shoes, leaving little space for casual wear. And if you want something that isn't the house brand, good luck with that. Brown's, on the other hand, is probably bigger than Aldo and Spring combined, and about 40% of that is the men's section. There's a wide variety of season- and occasion-appropriate footwear, with tons of styles and brands available, and a range of prices as well. It isn't to the extent of the Eaton Centre, obviously, but it's a big step up. My old pair of Boxfresh kicks had worn through on the soles after a lot of mileage because I'm a carless hippy/cheapwad, so with the rainy season in full swing, I had to pull the trigger on getting a new pair. There were more than a few pairs that I would have been very happy to get, including a pair of Boxfresh that were a slightly changed version of my old ones, but I picked out a pair of grey Polo sneakers that had nice leather accents and laces. At $75, it seemed like a really reasonable price, especially since that was $35 less than the Boxfreshes. I lucked out on the Polo sizing being the same as my old sneakers, and service was helpful and manged to upsell my neat-freak self on a cleaning spray to keep my canvas clean and mid-sole pearly white. If you're looking for good sneakers, or just more selection, hit up Brown's and you'll be doing yourself, your wallet and your feet a favour.

As I approached the counter, a young salesperson named Sylvia immediately asked if she could be of assistance and brought me my order. Sylvia was very knowledgeable about the product and brought me a number of different styles/sizes to try until I found a pair that I absolutely love and fit perfectly. She also offered to show me how to care for the boots and showed me the recommended products. Much thanks Sylvia.

The saleslady assisting us was very nice and patient. Adam must've tried on at least 2-3 different shirts and more than 5 ties. She was also nice enough to steam the shirt before wrapping it up. They have this cool policy in the store where you can try to put a hole in one mini golf style for $95 off a tie for $2 (and the money goes to charity!). Sadly, both Adam and I missed. But I enjoyed playing a lot! Mini put inside a store! I was surprised no one snubbed us as we did look very ordinary. I think once Adam specifically asked to try on a shirt, they loosened up and realized we were going to buy something. That's when they got friendlier and offered us drinks. But I really only liked the lady who helped us, the rest seemed unbothered and lazy.

As I accompanied a male friend in recent months on a mission for a new jacket, I observed the service as very thorough and helpful. Those looking to get properly outfitted and not knowing where to start can rely on Dugger's. As well, its a fine place to browse. No pressure... I like this spot, as they've got some pretty spruced up threads. Pricey but spicy, this is a place to check if you are looking to be fine and fancy.

The staff at this location were really friendly and worked hard to search out a pair of heels in my size (no easy task) in a couple different styles. They were also honest about how they looked, which was refreshing. Sometimes, no matter how much you like a pair of shoes, it's important to hear somebody say, "I'm not sure if those are going to work." After I picked out my shoes, I had a look around the store and found a lot of really nice accessories for men and women. I personally thought the men's accessories were a little nicer overall, but that's just me. I left Aldo with a great pair of shoes and a real interest in shopping there again. If you're looking for a stylish shoe at a decent price I think Aldo is definitely an option worth checking out.

Dang budgets. When you first enter the store you'll find yourself faced with tables and tables of adorable nick nacks and homewares to browse though - so many cute mugs and beautiful candles! Further back you'll find clothing - men's is on the upper level and women's on the lower. They've also got a killer jewellery section (which is where I've found myself most often drooling over the rings and earrings). I never look closely at the clothing because I don't want to tempt myself (out of my price range), but just glancing at the racks I and tell there are a lot of cute things that I hear are really great quality. From the little bit of browsing I've done the sizes are all pretty small...whomp whomp. In the men's section you'll find wallets, shave kits and some really fun socks in addition to the standard clothing fare. Don't miss out on the back section behind the men's clothing where the sale stuff is! They've always got a good selection of sale things. I really love the idea of shopping at Biscuit General, but unless it's some of the smaller items I just don't have the budget for it. It can get very pricey very quickly. That being said if you have more room in your budget definitely give Biscuit General a shot - it's definitely a local gem!

When we arrived here, we were promptly greeted and asked what we were looking for. My boyfriend explained what he wanted and the rep suggested certain shoes for his wide foot. He tried some on and the rep was very patient with my boyfriend who took a long time deciding and trying different pairs on. The rep always checked the fit and gave suggestions for making the shoe last longer, etc. He was also pretty funny and our overall experience was pretty good. The shoes that were chosen came to $195.00 but were high quality New Balance shoes that were a wide fit and meant to last. We were told to bring them back in if they wear earlier than expected and they would do what they could to either get another pair through the manufacturer or get the money back. They also offer other services including foot orthotics and they have sports clothing. It is also connected to a medical clinic.
