Reche Ridge Apartment Homes at 2270 Cahuilla Street needs better training for their staff. My family and I have been renting all our lives and have seen some terrible management service at places we've rented, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to actually make a statement about one. When I first got here I had to fight to get my application accepted, because whatever service they used to get my income information-- disregarding the bank statements-- was outdated. I brought in a letter from my work stating my actual income and was still rejected because they don't "accept job offers". It wasn't a job offer, just a statement saying that this was my position and this is how much I'm making.
After getting the property management to realize I actually made enough to live at the apartments, I had been given an appointment to sign the lease and such. I had been driving to Colton from LA, which takes time and uses a decent amount of gas. Twice my appointment had been pushed back without notification because the staff wasn't prepared. Once I had gotten the lease signed and picked up my keys I found that my mailbox key was incorrect. It took two months, with me stopping by weekly and being told the proper key would be dropped off, to finally get my key, and the only reason I believe I actually got it is because I wouldn't stop pestering them to be able to check my mail.
After that my sister and her family came to visit for a few days while they looked at places they wanted to rent in Fontana and had her car towed from the parking labeled "Visitor's Parking" and was told that the Visitor's Parking spot was not in fact for visitors. This was after I was told that the parking space I had been assigned, BB, that I still had the parking pass for and is the spot marked on my lease as being mine, was not actually mine but apparently belongs to another resident that does not own a car-- and has not had a car parked there before or since the incident-- and that the extra parking pass I had been assigned-- not "reassigned"--, which is not the spot on my lease, is my actual spot.
As for maintenance, it took a few weeks after moving in for the front door lock, which had been getting stuck because the door frame wasn't set right and had been starting to bend my apartment key, to get fixed. Currently my AC has been out since the beginning of June. I came home from work to find it had been leaking and damaged the floor. I had put in a maintenance request in in regards to the water, then another a few hours later when I realized the AC had stopped working. Both tickets were marked complete-- which I had not realized until today, as I never received a notification. The AC unit had stopped leaking by itself and maintenance had cleaned something-- and apparently unclogged a drain that hadn't been clogged before their visit?-- but the AC was never fixed, nearly twenty days later.
Additionally nothing had been done about the residents of the apartment across from mine putting a camera in their window pointing at an angle to view my living room every time I opened the door-- ignoring the Ring Doorbell, which most residents seem to have because of the package thieves-- when I expressed my discomfort with it-- mainly because of prior experience, as when people take an interest in your coming and goings and the layout of your apartment, they intend to rob you.
I'm not renewing my lease nor will I recommend these apartments to anyone.
If you read my sister's review about the towing incident and were curious-- no, the apartments never actually responded to her, which is about typical. read more
