I knew I wasn't feeling great and I started to feel it get worse and worse over the course of my day at work. When I was at the point where I knew I wasn't feeling great entering fatigue area, I left work to get checked out. I looked for a place off the Metro and nearby where I lived. Not just that, but it would not take me that long to get there. This fit all those requirements. Showed up, signed myself in, and was gearing up for a wait. However, it was mere seconds and they started my intake. Back to the waiting room and I was ready to settle in, but in a few minutes I was back in an exam room. Vitals taken, changed into a gown, and back in the room. Before I knew it a slew of tests were done to rule out the usual. I also had a chest x-ray, all before I was even seen by a doctor. I was happy to hear that it wasn't anything they tested for, and the chest x-ray showed nothing. But I was contagious as the doctor put it. The doctor here was excellent. She explained everything to me, why they did the tests they did, and what I was in store for. Everything she told me was actually what I was in store for. Her top advice was to rest. Not go home for a day, but to take the rest of the week off work for recovery. Note provided to cover me at work, a prescription to ebb the cough, and I was ready to head home. The good thing about one of these locations is that you can have your prescription filled here. That is, if their medication dispensing system was working. So I was expecting to get my stuff, get back on the Metro, and be on my way home to start on that rest. But I had to make another stop elsewhere before I could head home.

Everyone was professional and I didn't wait long at all -- in and out in slightly over an hour. However the PA I saw prescribed me an antibiotic and I was very confused as to why. My toe was swollen and red because it was fractured, not because of infection. I accepted the antibiotic (they have the ability to fill it on site) but waited to begin the medication until seeing the doctor. He was also confused why it was prescribed and showed me that if I elevated my foot, the color changed as bloodflow returned -- i.e., not an infection, just part of the normal healing process. That did make me question the medical decisionmaking I experienced, but thankfully my case was uncomplicated. Other than the poor stewardship of antibiotics, the care was good and I would return.

It's been ~6 hours since the visit, no call, no results. Logged into their site - no after visit summary, no treatment recommendation. The clinic has no pager, no voicemail to get a follow up from the doctor or staff after hours and only a typical message to call 911 in emergecy. Result: no diagnosis, no prescription, no visit summary, like she hasn't been there.

One appt went first, and my blood drawn at 7:40. Painless stick. Nice person. My test required waiting for 2 hours, so I got a good look. All customers were seen in 4 mins; two seen in 10 seconds. Yep - sign in and name called before seated. While waiting, other staff checked in with me - to see if I was waiting without being seen. Oh yeah. .. free parking. All excellent.

The online experience is top tier. I like as a new patient being able to submit everything online that would be needed in person, plus you can easily schedule a same day appointment within hours. Even better is the option to be in a virtual waiting room to minimize wait time when you arrive. Yes, this is an urgent care, so a lot of people didn't anticipate the need to come in until the same day. If most ER hospitals used this, it could help incoming patients, their family/support persons and even staff. Another convenience I like is their hours of availability, closing so late at night. I was anticipating having to come in here because the sick visit didn't go as planned with another provider. I came in then was told I had to schedule an appointment for a sick visit. They scheduled me for a slot several hours later so I had to leave and come back. It was frustrating and could have been avoided, but from now on if there's a need for a sick visit I will come here first. One other notable thing is that I called their phone number and someone answered the phone pretty quickly. She was very helpful and caring. When I called my other provider, even after 40 minutes I couldn't get through to a live person so I greatly appreciated being able to call here and have a responsive answer so fast!

In the end, we got treated, but the wait time seemed excessive for a normal Monday evening.

I spent about a half hour in the waiting room after checking in, but I was early, so it wasn't a big deal. My nurses and practitioners were all kind and understanding. They kept testing until we found the root of my issues and made sure I understood the severity of my condition. They also kept me in care until my fever went down. I'd recommend this place to anyone in need of urgent care. It's not glamorous, but I was given the care that I needed.
