I don't understand how the people running this place allow this sort of behavior? I've gone to other offices and have never experienced an office that feels like a high-school classroom. 3 hour wait? Monique Garcia listens and knows her stuff. She does have a strong personality that could come across wrong or bossy, but I was thankful how assertive she was in treating me. She didn't want to just give me a pill and send me on my way but she listens and diagnoses and does investigation work to find out what's really wrong! I also like that she's not opposed to eastern medicine like acupuncture or chiropractic services. Some doctors mock that idea where she encourages anything that works! Her office staff isn't too bad either. The waiting room is clean and the office is nice. They even take blood draws there and the nurse looks like one. She's older than me, dresses professionally, doesn't have tattoos or piercings and makes you feel warm and fuzzy. If you need a doctor try her out!

Fantastic Surgery Center -- we are relatively new to the area and I had to have surgery on my hand…read more I've heard from several people that Dr. James Lin is the best in the Monterey area... and everything I heard is true... Dr. Lin is amazing. I was so nervous (and scared, if I'm being completely honest). I had my surgery done at the Monterey Peninsula Surgery Center on Cass St. The surgery center is in an older building, but once I stepped inside, the woman behind the front desk put me at ease. And when I was brought to the back area to prepare for my surgery, almost all of my worries were pretty much forgotten. The staff at the surgery center was professional and warm (maybe they could tell that I was nervous). Brian took my blood pressure, etc. He was very nice. Talking to him was like talking to a good friend. The nurses and other medical staff (Dana, Vicky, Alice, and Richard) were just as friendly. In my humble opinion, bedside manner really counts. Another thing I noticed is that the facility was VERY clean and well-organized. Before I went to the area where I would change into my gown, I went to the restroom ... it was spotless (extra points for that!). A nice touch was Dr. Lin asking me what music I wanted in the operating room.

Thank you to all of you, and also the 2 new nurses introduced to me in the operating room as I was saying hello while succumbing to the anesthesia. I remember laughing to myself as they wheeled me down the hall, and saying I felt like a famous formula 1 driver and they were my superstar pit crew! Thanks again for making a surgery day go smooth and without fear.
