Quest Diagnostic Lab on San Jose St. in Salinas CA. This business was very unprofessional. I prefer to use Primecare Labs in Salinas. The entire process from scheduling to day of appointment is ZERO customer service! Some of the staff was friendly but still mass confusion start to finish. Can hear multiple employees talking out of view, but nobody will speak with you (those funny jokes back there must be HILARIOUS). This place will waste your time and the staff is extremely condescending and rude. I came in for some lab work, and walked into an empty waiting room and an abandoned reception desk. The place was a ghost town. After wasting twenty minutes of my time, someone finally acknowledged my presence and they told me that they didn't have any more walk-in availability, even though it was 1:00PM and there was no one in the waiting room. Admittedly, the dude did help me make an appointment for the following morning. The following morning, I arrived for my appointment and was immediately told to go fuck myself. I got something from this bunch this afternoon, and have NO IDEA what it is. Called my doctor and her office doesn't have any idea either. I tried to call their office and all I got was THE WORST PHONE CONNECTION SYSTEM I've ever encountered (and I work in customer service, so that says a lot!). This "phone system" can best be described as having been designed TO PREVENT ANYONE (even "providers") from getting through to a real person -- I even tried that option out of desperation to see if ANYTHING would penetrate the wall of stone that serves as their mechanical ARMOR-PLATING! I've been here since 7 am since that was the time the doctor had made my appointment to get my blood drawn. The lab opens at 7 am. I have been knocking on the door since 7 am until 7:30 am and still have not gotten a hold of anyone. I tried calling the office and was sent to an automated messaging system. Do not come here if possible. This has been a complete waste of time! For the record it is now 8:00 am and the doors are locked. I'm hoping Quest on Alvin Drive will be better, they don't have a lot to compete with after this mess! read more

What can I say--Quest Diagnostics SUCKS! Super inconvenient and nobody to assist you behind the counter. Automated telephone scheduling system is terrible. Made two appointments for me and my wife. On arrival, had to wait more than 15 minutes. Apparently one of our appointments was not in their system even though we got a confirmation number from their stupid telephone system. Staff person still refused to take both of us and gave attitude about being one of only two people working there. Probably wouldn't be as bad if this company gave a damn about investing in staff instead of automating everything. Will never give Quest my business again. read more

Reading all these bad reviews points to one conclusion, clearly these people didn't make appointments before coming in. I had an 8:30am appointment, walked in at 8:25am, and walked out at 8:33am. The staff was prompt, friendly, and the process was pain free. It hurt more to get the tape off my arm then it did to get the blood work. I will definitely come back to this specific location because of the fast service. I have been to the location in Monterey several times and my experience here in Salinas has been the best. read more

iI was very happy with my lab appointment which I made over the phone. I Much Prefer talking to a human , but at least it worked. I was put off by the fact that Nobody was there to check me in, though I could hear people talking in the back. Another patient told me to go to the kiosk and follow the prompts. It worked. I waited about ten minutes and Lybe ,( pronounced Libby ), called me in. She was Fantastic ! So friendly and helpful, and she got that blood out of my arm with Zero trauma or pain! I met a neighbor there and she said she comes there ,just because of Lybe. Quest Clearly needs to address their Customer Srevice Issues ! I realize things have changed because of Covid . But that should not be an excuse for not taking good care of people , when you are in the medical profession . There is the Science of it , for which we absolutely rely on you... And then there is Whether Or Not You Give A Damn.... We need that too.. most of us are sick ,scared and struggling with health issues , or we Wouldn't be there ! If I was any sicker , I would have hung up the phone instead of toughing it out. I would have taken my chances and gone with no appointment.... I've gone to this Quest location a few time within the past decade but perfer Labcorp. Staff at check in to occupied with personal conversations to even acknowledge customers. Checked in and left waiting for over half an hour. Despite appointment made. Left went to Labcorp. I've never had an issue when I go to Labcorp. Only reason I went to Quest is due to preferred by insurance. Would rather pay out of pocket knowing I'll get great customer care. read more

Do yourself a favor and find someplace else that truly cares about people's health, and quality customer service. I would give no stars if I could. I went here for my usual bloodwork. Usually I have it done at my doctors office, but that day the tech called in sick. I went in, no one was at the desk and I had to figure out how to get things taken care of on my own. There was a lobby full of people, and only 2 techs working. After my visit, I got a bill for $600. I called my insurance to find out why they didn't pay, and they said there was a mix up on the order. For 3 months my insurance, my doctor's office and I called every quest number to talk to someone to get this resolved. No one ever answered, either at the clinic, or the online numbers. I forgot to mention that their email system does not work, so I mailed them a letter explaining the situation and that I wanted to get this resolved. So because they are not doing their job, they sent creditors after me. Quest does not care about you. Go someplace else! read more

This lab has got to be the most unorganized business in Salinas and that's saying a lot! Whether you have an appointment or not you still have to wait because they obviously have no idea on how to schedule. Their phone system which is automated is almost as rude as the people that work there and again that's saying a lot. If there is any other lab you can go to I strongly recommend you do so. Went to quest to get my blood drawn, when I walked in employee KATHLEEN was on her personal cell taking a call chatting away. she has no people skills she was unwilling to help, turned me away I wasn't able to get my blood drawn, didn't offer to call the billing department or give me any information on how I can pay my bill. The QR code for check in at the kiosk works best with your phone; the one I printed on paper and brought with me was harder for the comptuer to scan. Like most people, I hate needles and having blood work done. Unfortunately for me, I had to have blood drawn 3 days out of a 7 day period. The first time I went in I had to have 6 viles of blood taken and the other 2 days only 1 vile per day. I had a different phlebotomist for every visit and everyone of them was great- super friendly, as gentle as possible and very professional. The first time I went I waited about 10 minutes after signing in to get my tests done and the other 2 times I was helped within minutes of arriving. I would highly recommend this specific office, they have a great team! read more

Complete waste of time! I arrived for my appointment and was told they cannot take the basic blood test that was ordered by my Dr. because the internet was down. They then told me I could go to the Quest across town and wait. The quest across town was completely full and I would have been waiting there half the day. This is really disappointing when you had an appointment and are taking time off work to be at said appointment. When I told the people I was displeased and would be writing a review about this they said in a rude voice" You do that sir! and have a nice day!". Its sad that we live in an age that people cant figure out how to do a job without the internet. I have gone twice to this place. Each time when they open @ 6:30 am. They take forever to get the ball rolling. Both times it was about 30-45 minutes wait. The first time I was 2nd in line. Next time I was 5th. They sit and chit chat when they get started. They are very inconsiderate of others peoples time. Obviously wouldn't go back if I didn't have to. On the plus side, I choose Quest for my labwork because I like their phone app. I can view my test results, that comes in handy when I'm at my doctor. The phlebotomists are usually pretty nice. On the down side, make an appointment!! If you do, you will only be stuck waiting about 45 minutes. If you don't, I pity your wait. This place is always full. They do have Saturday appointments, so I come here so that I don't have to take time off work. Bring something to read or make sure you have a good data plan...or you'll be bored waiting. read more

The wait is long around an hour while I was there. Service wasn't too horrible. They Made sure all paperwork were in line. Had people in order . Mine was drug test for a new job. Older pinay lady helped me she was very helpful. Explained to me that the technicians have to do all their own work from front desk to back office. So it takes a toll as they have personalize service with each clients so time does get affected. For my drug test it was fast . One star in too much. I have been a patient of this Med Lab for 15 years now, 4-5 times every year. The lab had a professional phlebotomist (Dea), but she seems to be gone. Every other one that has drawn blood from me was far worse, but none could compare with the one, a young man also with an attitude, that really butchered my right arms veins on 12/2/16 around 2:30 pm. WORST CLINIC EVER!!!! Went in yesterday to get lab work done but place was packed so decided to ask to make an appointment. The girl points to the cards on the counter and says "take a card and you can make an appointment on line" I'm a lil taking back and ask "is their any particular option I choose as I have several test that need to be done" and she states "just lab test we do all the test here" so off I went and when I got home I went on line and made an appointment. Flash forward to today when I go in 15 min before my appointment in case I needed to fill out paper,I enter my name in the system and 10 min later THE SAME GIRL from yesterday calls Me to the front and says " I'm sorry but we don't do these two test here!!" I'm a lil pissed at this moment bcuz had she taken the time to answer my questions or ask to look at my paper work when I came in yesterday inquiring how to make an appointment with all my test I would have went else where!! She suggest the Laboratory ( that's the actual name) down the street and says they might be able to help me!!! We'll help me they did I was given more attention and better customer service and was in and out in 20 min and I didn't even have an appointment!! I WILL NEVER be going back to Quest!! The reason for 2 stars is that we waited for 12 minutes at the front desk window before anyone ever came out from wherever they were. Also they must not have enough staff because even with appointments the wait time is horrendously long. On the plus side when you do get to the lab chair finally, the phlebotomist was professional, quick, and did an absolutely painless blood draw (& I am their worst nightmare because my veins collapse.) So kudos to lab personnel, but the initial operations at check in needs significant reworking! read more
