Pro's : Gas price is pretty good compared to other stations , however you will pay that lovely .35 fee on top to just use their pump . Is it clean Heck no it's never clean , I rarely see the gas station clean outside . Pumps are dirty , screens , dirty , no receipts almost 85% of the time and that really is most irritating as I use my receipts for work and I don't always have time to walk in and pay ) which I should do but I don't ). The water to clean the windows is filthy and old squeegees are the norm. If you want a clean station and decent window cleaner w decent squeegees ( this IS NOT THE STATION FOR YOU ). However if you are just wanting less expensive gas and don't care about the above THIS IS the gas station for you as you can't really beat their prices unless you go to Costco or B Brothers gas station on Marguerite Pkwy & La Paz - you know which one I am talking about . I've been going to this station for about a year, going in twice a week. The woman at the cashier, Teresa, is extremely rude to female customers. I've watched her joke with male customer but she gets loud and disrespectful with me, a regular customer. Everytime I ask for the manager, he is not available! Was furious when I went in and asked kindly if she could activate the pump, dismissed me and told me repeatedly NO YOU SAID 4 and then simply yelled out NEXT. The pump charges you a .35 cent transaction fee if you're trying to use a corporate vehicle maintenance card. What is that?! I've been to many different gas stations and have never been charged an extra fee for using our corporate vehicle card. I immediately cancelled the transaction, jumped back into my car and drove a block or two down the road where I could fill up at Shell or Chevron and not be charged such ridiculous fees. From reading the other Yelp reviews on this gas station, it really makes me wonder how places like this stay in business. This gas station is terrible. I used to never buy arco because they don't accept credit cards. That alone makes this place a joke. But I then came here a few times and a few weeks later my debit gets stolen and used at Home Depot in Rancho Cucamonga. I wouldn't have suspected this place, but I saw a few other people in RSM report the same thing. Also, the pumps are always slow. It takes like 15 minutes to fill the tank. The entire point of pay at the pump is convenience. Today I drove up to get gas. Every time I put my credit card in the slot the screen asked for a pin number. When I tried to pilot around it on the machine it told me to go inside and see the cashier. It's not a debit card. So I looked around for a button to push telling them it's a credit card but only saw information for a debit card. I feel this can't be the case but from what I could tell the pump just accepted debit cards and not credit cards. At minimum it's confusing and irritating. No thanks. read more

The pumps are ancient and the handles sticky, but ARCO provides cheap gas for cash or debit when the other local station's rates are too high. Most of the squeegees are falling apart, that is if you can find one, and the trash cans are usually filled to the brim... There's also a variety of uncouth alcoholic drinks, smokes, and snacks to pick up while inside the shop. The station attendants are pretty attentive as well and willing to greet you with a kind "hello" when you walk to the register. It's a prime location with a gorgeous little building that serves as a landmark when entering Rancho Santa Margarita, only one half of the structure is not occupied and in need of some rehab. The lot itself is a tight fit and a bit of a mess, with cars trying to traverse every which way but strait, and exiting or entering the station is a bit of a task. The lighting at night is ominous, but there's usually a number of Orange County Sheriff's deputies hanging out in the lot during the early hours... I stop in almost twice a month. All arco's charge a BS fee! All arco are very bad gas stations. People go there to save money, but in reslity your only saving a dollar or 2 every time your fill up. In the long run your not saving. There gas is horrible for your vehicle. I've seen a engine with 30,000 miles on it, taking apart, they only used arco gas, it was already all gunked up!!! Back a few years ago I had some bad experiences at this gas station. I recently learned that is it is under new ownership. The first thing that tipped me off was the place looked a little different and looks like it was better taken care of. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and had a great discussion with him about the changes he has already done with the place, as well as the future plans. It is definitely 180° switch then with the place used to be like. I have avoided the place for the last few years because of previous bad experiences. I am very happy to learn that it is under new ownership and the place will continue to get better and better each day. read more

I love this gas station. The cashiers are always friendly, great selection of beverages and snacks. The restrooms are always clean which is a major plus at a gas station. Not to mention, can't beat the gas prices. I have to add that the hand sanitizer at the pumps smells amazing! Don't forget to sanitize before jumping back in the car and enjoy the scent! read more

I was in Arco on Rancho Santa Margarita Pkwy on 6/15/20 around 10pm buying some snacks and for some reason the two female employees that were working started talking in Spanish and the younger one at the register called me a pinche vieja thinking I did not understand Spanish. I came to get beer at 1:50am 2 times and both time they were closed with a "be back in 10 mentes" sign. That's absolutely ridiculous that's a loss of revenue since beer can't be sold after 2am the stupid man inside Carlos won't let us in and we can't buy what we want to buy atleast make the breaks after 2am. Not a very good gas station!! They don't accept credit cards so you have to use the machine outside with your debit card or pay cash. The pumps take forever!! What are they doing, going to middle east to drill the oil first?? One time I started the pump, went inside, picked a soda, waited in line behind 2 slow moving people, came out, and it was barely halfway done! Trust me...they're slow! This is a problem because most people dont have extra time to wait around at the gas station. It is literally a stones throw away from my house but I will avoid it and go to Shell. Only good thing I can think of is they have a quiznos inside....so while you are waiting for your gas,you can pass time and eat a sandwich. read more

I went to this gas station today and feel compelled to write a review on how ridiculous it is. Even with a prime location, I doubt they will be in business very long. First, an automatic 35 cent fee to initiate a transaction? I've been all over the country and that was a first. I figured, "whatever," but then... Second, when I went inside from the pump to figure out what the fee was, there was no one at the counter (the attendant did show up fairly quickly). Last, they don't take credit cards! What a joke! I tried to get diesel! I wanted to fill up but the pumps are way too slow! I got 25.00 only and told the clerk I would go somewhere else to get fuel. His response, "Do you want me to help you, maybe you put the nozzle in the truck wrong." I think I know how to put the nozzle in my truck and fill it! Make sure you check your receipts. This would be the second incident in the past 7 months where I pumped fuel at the Arco RSM pump using my debit card, to find they nearly triple charged my card. For instance, this last time, I put in 15.99 cents on pump number 2 to print a receipt that said 50.00!!! The first time this happened was very similar except I didn't catch it until later. Yes they gave me my money back but if this is happening and people aren't checking... And it's unacceptable to try and blame it on the customer when there was clear proof on the pump that stated 15.99. Beware. read more

Cheaper gas most of the time, I don't like that they charge you a fee for your credit card, especially since you know that fee is actually their fee they have to pay to be able to process credit cards, and I'm pretty sure that it's actually illegal to charge your customers your credit card fee for having credit card services. Also I just fueled up here and they have a new system at their pumps which non-stop the entire time you are pumping your gas repeats the same sentence over and over again about pay media, it's enough to drive a person insane, I'm not very happy right now especially since I'm always a bit upset when I have to pay their fee to use my credit/debit card at the pump anyway. This is typically why I usually avoid their gas station majority of the time. I feel like I'm getting ripped off and now I know that I'm also going to be annoyed for no reason by their gas pump every time I go now too. Not very good marketing I don't think.
