Pay inside or grab some snacks from this tiny shack.
    Jeff B.

(Filled-up 01/30/15 F @ 9:00am): Usually the cheapest non-member gas around, but I rarely used them since they didn't accept credit cards! My Toaster was running on fumes (her gas guage light was giving me the stink-eye, too) as I coasted her into this Arco & AM/PM located across the street from a KFC, "my" Smart & Final and one of "my" post offices in order to use a gift card I received as a Christmas present. The practicality of a gift card was the only way I ever filled-up at any Arco gas station or someone paid for me due to the lack of credit card acceptance and my lack of carrying cash or a debit card. Let's talk gas!: 87 Regular Gas ($25.00) - Ironic how gas prices have tanked now that I no longer had a 35-mile commuted to work! After 10.97 gallons of gas at $2.27/gallon, my ride was ready to go. Fuel quality seemed fine. On this sprinkling morning there was no need to squeegee the windows, so I gassed and went. Service - Unless there was something wrong with the pump you were at, the pay machine was either not working or out of receipt paper, you wanted some snacks from inside the tiny AM/PM http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=KgAqaXVlL-SIWYy2m4P21w, or you needed your car serviced at the small onsite garage, it was all self-service. Pump #6 flowed fast like a flash flood. Parking (Free) - They had a couple spots - for those who needed snacks or directions, I guess. Otherwise, get in and get out! Atmosphere, décor, ambience - A spacious gas station with wide aisles and lanes to pull up along or pass by cars with stucco pillars. It had a total of 16 pump stations (four columns with four pumps each), squeegees, soapy water, paper towels trashcans, and an air and water station. All the pump stations had a small roof platform that covered them, but if the rain were coming in sideways you'd be drenched http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. There were two entrances/exits each along Wilson Ave. and the main drag of Verdugo Rd. Be warned that this was a high-trafficked intersection and busy location so be careful and have patience. There was plenty of natural lighting during the day and very bright lighting from both street and above lamps at night. There were no TVs or background music. Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, this Arco & AM/PM in Glendale served its purpose and was perfectly located close to a few regular spots I'd hit up. Although the prices were cheap, I wouldn't say they were the cheapest because of its location...location...location, so traffic could be snarled at times depending on the time of day. The facilities were adequate, well-lit, and open late. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total paid experience was around $25.00; no tip required). And, they only accepted cash and debit cards (gift cards, too), so my credit card of choice stayed in the wallet...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

I used to come to this gas station a lot when I lived in Glendale. Hasn't changed much. Still fairly busy. Best price for gas in the area.

Not all 7 Elevens do the 2 for one, and these 7 Elevens are not worth your time. Please, take advantage of this potassium-tastic deal! Other notes: This 7 Eleven does not get that elusive 5th star due to the fact that their chicken fingers never look too good, and sometimes their pizza is quite dry looking. This location is one of the smaller ones, and does not have quite the selection the 7 Eleven further down Broadway has. However, that location does not offer the aforementioned banana deal, so I make a point to always visit this location. This location also has friendly staff and the line is never too long. They are very cool about letting me use my 7 Eleven only parking spot to run next door and grab a croissant after making my purchase in their fine establishment. TLDR: 2 bananas for 1 dollar.

The people here are super friendly and helpful. I ordered the real deal brisket pastrami sandwich. Such a delicious sandwich and the size is pretty large. I think it could have lasted me two different meals. Especially if I got a side or two with it. Definitely would love to come back to try some of the other sandwiches. The prices is here are pretty reasonable especially with lots of expensive sandwich shops out there these days.

What we ordered: 1) a create-your-own pastrami sandwich with mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese, 2) their new pastrami cheesesteak. 3) a banana pudding (which I haven't tried yet) The standard pastrami hoagie good, but those kinds of pastrami sandwiches are pretty ubiquitous in SoCal-- pastrami, thinly sliced; maybe there's pickles, maybe there's mustard, maybe there's jus for a dip (their's is dry), on a French roll. I can get that kind of pastrami sandwich closer to me. On the other hand, a pastrami cheesesteak is NOT something you'd see around these parts. According to the menu, their cheesesteak has their signature pastrami, Cooper sharp cheddar, and onions on a hoagie roll. We preferred the pastrami cheesesteak over the standard, simply because of the novelty but also for the taste. The cheddar gave the cheesesteak a richness that a regular pastrami sandwich wouldn't have. Also, the melted cheddar had a binding effect on the pastrami; the meat stayed in the sandwich. You didn't end up with a third to half the pastrami ending up escaping the confines of the roll halves. The pastrami cheesesteak also included a 2oz serving cup of chipotle aioli which we really didn't need. The flavor on its own was enough for us. If I had a minor gripe on this cheesesteak, maybe a hit of acid would've been nice, but cheesesteaks usually lean toward rich and gooey so this sandwich's flavors and textures are par for the course. About the place itself: 1) the sandwich shop is on the corner of a major intersection, Lexington and Pacific 2) other than a driveway with a single space, it is ALL street parking. 3) there is NO parking on Pacific 4) the only dine-in option is a small porch with a couple of tables 5) be stage are all canned or bottled; there is no fountain The sandwiches are made to order. My order was given a wait time of 15 minutes but I'm pretty sure it was faster than that. I don't think I would drive all the way from the Rosemead area, but it's clearly a local's favorite. If we were in the area, we'd totally order the pastrami cheesesteak again, maybe with pepperonis. Their pastrami is no Langer's, but it's definitely a cut (no pun intended) over the standard Jim's 1/4 Lb or Rick's type joints. You can taste the care in its preparation. Overall, a really good sandwich place.
