This guy, Frank is his name, is a thief. i brought him a Troy Bilt mower with a Honda engine that…read morehad developed a surge and was down on power. He said he would do a "tune up" and the cost would be $140. When I picked it up, he had run drywall screw into the top of the air filter housing to stop the choke from closing all the way. (To compensate for a dirty carb that he did not address). So for $140, I got a new spark plug, he did not even change the air filter because I had recently done that, and he sharpened the blade. I used the mower a couple of times and it was still surging and down on power. I called him back and his reply was it was outside the 30 day warranty. I took it to Southside Hardware on 6401 Hampton 314-351-0204 and explained my situation to Steve. He stated he would remove the carb and thoroughly clean it, which is the root cause of the surge.

John's has been at the same location, for as long as I can remember and has consistently offered quality used appliances. Since one isn't often in the market for larger appliances, I have only bought from him twice in the last 15 years or so, but with that said, the used dryer I bought from him 12 years ago, still works. You also, can't find a more reputable and nice guy - he's not going to gyp you or sell you some crap. At Christmas I called to see if he could send out a repair guy, but he said due to the age of my frig, that I would probably end up getting ripped off. He asked me the specifics of what was wrong, told me what part would potentially fix it, then told me where to go to by the part (Marcone Appliance Parts) and how easy it was to fix = $50 later my frig was working, and all because he's a nice guy. If you need an appliance or a repair, check out John's!

Great place to get your stuff stolen. Twice now in the same year, I've had my unit broken into and…read moreransacked, resulting in the theft of my guitars. The first time was on account of the latch in the door not having been closed all the way, but the second occurred in spite of everything having been properly secured and bolted down. I have no idea how this is happening or who's doing it, but the security in this place is practically nonexistent: Not only are there no cameras to guard the units themselves (only a few around the perimeter and inside the main thru-way), but I've entered the building at times to find the automatic door standing wide open, allowing anyone to walk in. I should've moved my stuff out of here eons ago, but rest assured that I'll be clearing out now. Avoid.

When they arrived my spouse told them that we had had noises from what we believe was the water hose for the past year ( note that during that whole time we had been using the dishwasher ). We had to send a few extra pictures for the claim ( probably should have been done by the technician ). Two days later we are informed that our claim was denied since the dishwasher stopped working a year ago -- totally false. Even when talking to representative at SHW and explaining "Why" would I wait a year when my dishwasher wasn't working -- they kept stating "the technician stated that the dishwasher stopped working a year ago". I can't imagine how something like this could be confused by technician and putting myself out of any warranty work being covered. Just terrible experience and I would be hesitant to use this company for services.
