This company has lied to my parents over and over again about fixing their completely shotty and…read moreunprofessional work. My parents had their cabinets, mantle, and all of their doors and baseboards refinished hoping to update their home. What they got was some sort of stain/paint splattered, pooled, and streaked all over their previously perfect custom cabinets, doors and baseboards. Not only did the job look horrible, but the finish is flaking off everywhere (and begun almost immediately). My parents have been overly patient while letting Gleam Guard have someone come in and try to "fix it" to having their own professional come and deem that the damage was irreversible and the cabinets either needed to be replaced or refaced. The doors and baseboards will all need to be removed and sanded down and refinished. They paid Gleam Guards $5,962 to ruin their cabinets and the estimate to fix the entirety of what they ruined is almost $30k. This happened last April 2012 and when a complaint to the BBB was made my parents even allowed Gleam Guard time to come and fix it. They sanded and stained two cabinets and stated that the work was too extensive to complete. SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF HEADACHE AND STEER CLEAR OF THESE SCAM ARTISTS. The bottom line is that there is no new technology with wood and finishing wood. You have to sand and stain or chemically strip you cannot just "create" new technology by staining or painting over stain. I have contacted 2News Problem Solvers about this as well. I feel so sorry for my parents.

They took on a small job and tackled it enthusiastically as if it were a big, lucrative one. They repaired a German Shepherd damaged front door on both the inside and outside surfaces, re-stained the entire door and stained two second story shutters. They completed the work in the dark by using extra lighting. I had had misgivings about that but the job was completed beautifully. The final, impressive thing was that both of them said to call them before we sell our home in April if the dog had caused further damage. They would touch it up without charge! That never happens in my world so I was completely shocked and impressed.

I work with natural stone as an artist and I consider myself harder to please than most for this reason. That said, I've always been happy with overall process of getting exact measurements, slab selection, fabrication and installation. Pricing has always been fair and upfront without any surprises at the end. My latest project involved removing an old/worn kitchen sink (see photo) and replacing it with an identical/new model. I was quoted what seemed to be a fair and reasonable price. As with any project, there can be snags and unforeseen challenges and this was no exception. Instead of taking one man a few hours, it required 3 guys approximately 12-man hours. Despite the difficulties, the crew was always polite, professional and determined to do their work with excellence. Never did they rush simply to get the job done and go home for the night. The following day, I spoke with the owner Erin who was fully aware of some of the challenges her crew experienced and time spent on the project. But, instead of changing our verbal price agreement to cover her labor/material costs, she honored her word stating how important customer service is to her and her company. I cannot tell you how impressed I was by her integrity to do the right thing for her customer despite losing money on this project. Amazing!!! As a homeowner, this is the type of company we are all looking for and so rarely encounter. So, if you're looking for a company that operates with honesty, integrity and values you as a customer, all while providing a quality product and service, please check them out...you'll be glad David Mansfield

I have dealt with many businesses over the years; some good, some bad. Sadly, this is one of the…read morebad & good. Workers were awesome, but made a few errors. Normally the fix would be simple. The bad was dealing with the owner, to do some minor repairs. I was accused of being passive aggressive, because I touched base on Zane's website, reminding him for the 3rd time, that I still needed the job completed. The second time was while we were voting for the Presidential election. He had ample time to input a reminder on his phone calendar, to reach out to me. I waited 3 weeks more and contacted him on his website....merely reminding Zane...nothing aggressive, or rude, just a reminder. His response? I was passive aggressive!!! I would find a company that is glad to provide excellant service. Funny...these companies are all too talkative before they get the job. Yet seem to make rude remarks when you need 15 minutes of their time for a simple repair. The real kicker...he lives maybe 1 minute away. I pray that others that live 15 minutes away, or more, get better service. There are other companies to consider.

Unfortunately, the positives stop there. I feel EA stone completely dropped the ball on communication, execution, and accountability. * They completely botched the installation of the backsplash and tried to blame me for their mistakes. Ultimately they did fix the backsplash after a lot of wasted time and unnecessary debate * They caused extensive damage to my cabinet paint during installation - their response: it's on you * They used a grinder and took big chunks out of the side of my cabinets: their response: it will be covered so it's acceptable * They cut the kitchen island top 2 inches two long which left large open gaps on the sides of the island. They refused to fix it. I feel that EA Stone left the job unfinished, caused extensive damage, and when confronted, they made excuses, deflected, and ultimately blamed the customer. They left a huge mess of quartz dust throughout the house with zero attempt to clean up. I feel that EA stone failed every step of the way - and while everyone makes mistakes, I would not recommend doing business with them due to their compromised integrity and respect for the customer.
