We received a gift certificate for a free tasting for up to 4 people and a tour for this place. We decided to go on a whim and just do the tasting for myself and my boyfriend. We weren't going to bother with the tour since it was so last minute and didn't want to be those people... We pulled up just in time to see a large bus of Nike employees unloading... super. they pretty much took every available table and left a couple chairs in the sun. Despite the chaos of the group, the staff was super nice and got us started on our tasting. They took the time to talk to us about the wines they were pouring despite clearing being super busy with the group. We never waited long for our next sampling and a staff member would come out to where we were sitting and pour us our next wine, we never had to walk in for anything. We were served by maybe 4 different people, all super nice and very informative. During this time we also had a bachelorette party show up... not great timing for us. Caitryn came over to us later on and offered to give us a tour of their A-list lounge which is this super cool cave type of room for members to enjoy. it was very nice and like 20 degrees cooler which was very nice of her to let us come in a cool down. She offered us a tasting of a wine not on the tasting list and talked to us some about upcoming events and special things they do at the winery. The wines are pretty pricey, like $85 a bottle on average, but all of the ones we sampled were so so good. We did purchase a couple of the lower priced wines, and she was nice enough to return our gift certificate, stating she would like us to return and bring a couple of our friends and take a full tour. She was so nice and gave us superb customer service. I would come back just for her, but the wines and the view are fantastic as well. While this is a pricier wine tasting option, both for tasting fees and bottle prices, it was an awesome place and we had a great time there. read more

We came for a birthday wine tasting.. we did not have a reservation but they wouldn't even let us stand inside to wait for our car and then closed off the bathrooms and were blocking them. The 4 wines we tasted here at Archery Summit were great - some of the best I have had in the Willamette Valley. We sat outside on their lovely patio overlooking the Vineyard during our tasting. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the vineyard/wine. As mentioned, the vineyard was lovely and we were allowed to wander a bit, but tours cost extra. My only real complaint is that the tasting fee is not refunded with the purchase of a bottle - in my mind, that is tacky, especially since the wine can be rather expensive. If you don't mind this however, I would recommend a stop by. read more

My wife and I were excited to visit Archery Summit. Could not have been more disappointed. Tasting is priced higher than high end wineries in Napa with 5 tastes for$30 dollars. But the wines were nothing stellar for the price between $100 and $120 per bottle. Pino's compared to $40 wines we have been tasting elsewhere. Tasting room is small and looks like a small kitchen. No food or cheese available because they said it would cost them to much for a permits! Lol gotta love that at their prices. Don't waist your time. Much friendlier and nicer locations to be found in this area. read more

Beautiful property. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous. The gentleman pouring for us really knew a lot about the area, the weather and the different kinds of grapes that grow in this region of Oregon. The wines here are expensive from $85 to $250 a bottle. It's obvious that these folks know what they're doing but I also tasted Wines for half the price on this trip that were just as good. read more

I am glad we came here. We had to take the bad taste out of our mouth from a previous tasting and this place delivered. This trip I was mainly searching for whites and Rosès, so I scored a couple of great ones here. Most wines were reasonably priced. A few years ago I was lucky enough to attend an event here with my brother who is a member of their Wine Club. Really cool space and great Pinot. The tour was wheelchair accessible and the staff was really nice! One of the highlights was getting the opportunity to talk to the Winemaker. The wine here is consistently very good and the staff is always very friendly. Each year, I always find myself liking the Arcus the most and generally end up with a bottle each year at least. They do a great job with pinots which is good, because it is all they pour. :-) The caves that they have setup is cool to walk through and lined with wine barrels. If you go on Memorial Day weekend or Thanksgiving weekend, they will let you walk through the caves and taste wines along the way. The one thing to keep in mind is that it the wines are high end so you are going to pay accordingly. read more

Go to see the view and the caves. Skip the tasting room. The wines are meant to be "cellared" and are priced as such. This concept is outdated. Even French winemakers are making more wines that can be enjoyed now. The staff wasn't friendly, I guess I can't blame them if no one wants to buy their overpriced wine. read more

Drinkable now but could benefit from a few years, Staff was welcoming and informative. The Estate Tasting was good but definitely pricey for the experience. I was also not impressed that they would waive only 1 tasting fee for every $250 worth of wine! We tend to drink more full bodied reds for various veritable . Pinot just seem too watered down, that was until we visited Archery Summit. Their Pinots are complex, fuller bodies and very smooth. Colin who waited on us explained their production techniques which they claim make their wines different form most I the Valley. In addition they produce in small batches. I am a wine club member here and brought a few friends with me to taste recently. We were impressed with the quality of the wine as always, but were sorely disappointed in the demeanor and professionalism of the tasting room staff. We were wholly ignored for long periods of time, were not given any information about each of the wines we tasted, and actually had to forfeit the last pour on the flight because we had run out of time as we'd been tasting for 30 minutes. I've had this experience at Archery Summit before and continue to go back in hopes that their attention to the customer experience will improve and match the quality of their wine, but it never does. I always leave feeling as if the staff are annoyed to have to serve their customers and thus, I almost always leave frustrated. After this last experience, I've decided to cancel my wine club membership and will stop recommending them. Disappointing for sure. read more

I am a member of their sister winery, Pine Ridge in Napa, and I emailed ahead to let them know I was coming up to Oregon and they gave my wife and I a complimentary tasting and tour. They were expecting me when I arrived and was treated great. I was blown away by the tour and their Pinot's were top notch. Layers of flavors and depth of flavor and each pinot showed the terroir nicely. We bought the 06 Arcus and it went perfectly with brunch on Sunday at a Portland steakhouse. As the steakhouse sommelier said, it's never too early to drink Archery Summit. read more

The new wines were pretty good, but we got one of the reserve tastings and two of the pinots (2009, 2008) were way past their prime. For a $45 tasting, having 1/2 the pours be undrinkable is pretty unforgivable. When I asked about it, the response was "this is how they are supposed to taste... they are at the end of their life". The wines here truly are delicious. Like velvet in a glass. However, not sure why they are pinots. They seem more like a cabernet to me. I'm no expert, but it's been explained to me that it's "old world" vs. "new world" styles. The views from this winery are breathtaking. There is almost nothing better than sipping a glass of wine on their patio here. The $15 taste fee is steep. Almost as steep as the cost of their wines. Cheapest was $85. To spend money like that the wine would have to keep me drunk for a week. That's why I gave them 3 stars. I would give 4 or 5 if their wine prices were more reasonable. My husband & I were in Portland for a wedding. Since we are members at Seghesio Winery in Healdsburg, CA we decided to drive out to Archery Summit, which is a sister winery. We are so happy that we made the trip. The wines were great and the views were outstanding. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the spacious patio. Jillian took such good care of us. She was fun to chat with and very enthusiast and knowledgeable. The cave tour is well worth the time. Was given a recommendation to visit as this is a higher priced vineyard, with the through the service and wine would match. I was disappointed with the small tasting room, and the wait (15mins) to get our tasting started ( there were only 4 people there prior to our visit). Went wine tasting with the wife and stumbled across Archery Summit. After admiring the breath taking views we ran into Sam. Sam is very knowledgeable and super friendly. He made us feel very welcomed and wasn't there to just pour some tastes, but explained to us what each pour was, where it came from, the history, etc. The wine is excellent and the pricing is very fair for the great taste you get, but I would say one of the top reasons we signed up to be members was because of Sam. Oh, and the wine too. The rest of the staff are good too, but Sam is the man! Go see Sam if you want an amazing experience at an awesome winery! read more
