While visiting family in Portland, they took us to Archery Summit for a winery tour. It was AMAZING!!! Anthony Franklin was our tour guide and I cannot say enough about what a wonderful job he did. I learned so much about making wine! He provided information while making it fun and interesting. My niece and nephew who could not yet partake of the wine asked lots of great questions and he answered them all with enthusiasm and respect. He was knowledgeable, fun, genuine, and an excellent teacher. It was a delightful afternoon and I'm already sharing all the fun facts I learned with friends. Thank you Anthony for such an awesome experience. Also the wine was unbelievable. So good that we are having some shipped across the country! read more

We received a gift certificate for a free tasting for up to 4 people and a tour for this place. We decided to go on a whim and just do the tasting for myself and my boyfriend. We weren't going to bother with the tour since it was so last minute and didn't want to be those people... We pulled up just in time to see a large bus of Nike employees unloading... super. they pretty much took every available table and left a couple chairs in the sun. Despite the chaos of the group, the staff was super nice and got us started on our tasting. They took the time to talk to us about the wines they were pouring despite clearing being super busy with the group. We never waited long for our next sampling and a staff member would come out to where we were sitting and pour us our next wine, we never had to walk in for anything. We were served by maybe 4 different people, all super nice and very informative. During this time we also had a bachelorette party show up... not great timing for us. Caitryn came over to us later on and offered to give us a tour of their A-list lounge which is this super cool cave type of room for members to enjoy. it was very nice and like 20 degrees cooler which was very nice of her to let us come in a cool down. She offered us a tasting of a wine not on the tasting list and talked to us some about upcoming events and special things they do at the winery. The wines are pretty pricey, like $85 a bottle on average, but all of the ones we sampled were so so good. We did purchase a couple of the lower priced wines, and she was nice enough to return our gift certificate, stating she would like us to return and bring a couple of our friends and take a full tour. She was so nice and gave us superb customer service. I would come back just for her, but the wines and the view are fantastic as well. While this is a pricier wine tasting option, both for tasting fees and bottle prices, it was an awesome place and we had a great time there. read more

The 4 wines we tasted here at Archery Summit were great - some of the best I have had in the Willamette Valley. We sat outside on their lovely patio overlooking the Vineyard during our tasting. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the vineyard/wine. As mentioned, the vineyard was lovely and we were allowed to wander a bit, but tours cost extra. My only real complaint is that the tasting fee is not refunded with the purchase of a bottle - in my mind, that is tacky, especially since the wine can be rather expensive. If you don't mind this however, I would recommend a stop by. read more

We were fortunate enough to have Tessa taking care of us this evening!! Tessa was extremely attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable we could not have asked for a better experience at Archery Summit! She went out of her way to make us feel at home. We will be back! read more

Jacqueline was amazing - knowledgeable and engaging. Excellent pinots - the best in the Valley. Great way to start or holiday weekend - we'll definately be back for more wine. read more

Archery Summit - Wine Tours Near Me - Dayton, Oregon

I brought my sister from out of state, first time ever wine tasting and had a private tour. Our host, Casey was above and beyond amazing. His passion is infectious, his knowledge in depth and he was incredibly gracious. We could not have asked for a better experience. The delicious wines are the icing on the cake. The bar has been set very high and appropriately so, thank you Casey, graciously your guests, Cathy and Todd, read more

Wonderful experience here. Great service and knowledge and the wine was outstanding. It isn't cheap and it's worth every penny. The breath taking views made it one of our favorite stops. It will always be on our list when we return for tours. read more

We came for a birthday wine tasting.. we did not have a reservation but they wouldn't even let us stand inside to wait for our car and then closed off the bathrooms and were blocking them. The manager was so rude and they were not busy what so ever Stoller was packed and they made space and time for us and were amazing!!!! read more

Beautiful property. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous. The gentleman pouring for us really knew a lot about the area, the weather and the different kinds of grapes that grow in this region of Oregon. The wines here are expensive from $85 to $250 a bottle. It's obvious that these folks know what they're doing but I also tasted Wines for half the price on this trip that were just as good. read more

I am glad we came here. We had to take the bad taste out of our mouth from a previous tasting and this place delivered. This trip I was mainly searching for whites and Rosès, so I scored a couple of great ones here. Most wines were reasonably priced. Our tasting was a little rushed since we were running out of time, but we had a good time. read more

My wife and I were excited to visit Archery Summit. Could not have been more disappointed. Tasting is priced higher than high end wineries in Napa with 5 tastes for$30 dollars. But the wines were nothing stellar for the price between $100 and $120 per bottle. Pino's compared to $40 wines we have been tasting elsewhere. Tasting room is small and looks like a small kitchen. No food or cheese available because they said it would cost them to much for a permits! Lol gotta love that at their prices. Don't waist your time. Much friendlier and nicer locations to be found in this area. read more

A few years ago I was lucky enough to attend an event here with my brother who is a member of their Wine Club. Really cool space and great Pinot. The tour was wheelchair accessible and the staff was really nice! One of the highlights was getting the opportunity to talk to the Winemaker. She was very knowledgeable and willing to answer lots of questions from a relative novice (me)! read more

The wine here is consistently very good and the staff is always very friendly. Each year, I always find myself liking the Arcus the most and generally end up with a bottle each year at least. They do a great job with pinots which is good, because it is all they pour. :-) The caves that they have setup is cool to walk through and lined with wine barrels. If you go on Memorial Day weekend or Thanksgiving weekend, they will let you walk through the caves and taste wines along the way. The one thing to keep in mind is that it the wines are high end so you are going to pay accordingly. read more

It's been too long but I finally got back here. Tasting was set up in the cave normally only open for members. They have the same great wine as always. Excellent service from a couple of pourers today. They knew the wines and had great restaurant suggestions. They were also incredibly helpful getting me set up with shipping boxes for the plane ride home. See you next time. AS! read more

All I can say is wow! The Pinot Noir was amazing. The winery sits in a really beautiful spot. After our tasting, we got a bottle and sat for hours just enjoying the wine and view. read more

Go to see the view and the caves. Skip the tasting room. The wines are meant to be "cellared" and are priced as such. This concept is outdated. Even French winemakers are making more wines that can be enjoyed now. The staff wasn't friendly, I guess I can't blame them if no one wants to buy their overpriced wine. read more

Top notch Pinot in a dense wine country. If you don't go during an event you will get special attention from the staff if you want to talk wine. Felicia (sp?) was very cordial and knowledgable. Tasting fees were up there ($20), but were waived when a bottle was purchased. read more

Great views, wonderful cellar room, and amazing pinot. The 2013 was picked early and a little harsher I see cellaring it for some time. the 2014 are huge and jammy. Drinkable now but could benefit from a few years, Staff was welcoming and informative. The wines are on the pricey side ($85/$100) and so is their tasting fee, but definitely worth while exploring. read more

Yes, it's expensive. Yes, that's a lot to pay for wine. But, after enjoying their Pinot, you will not care. The BEST of the BEST!

The Estate Tasting was good but definitely pricey for the experience. I was also not impressed that they would waive only 1 tasting fee for every $250 worth of wine! I would have bought more bottles if they would've waive the tasting fee at a lower price point. They definitely lost some business due to this unfortunate policy. read more

We tend to drink more full bodied reds for various veritable . Pinot just seem too watered down, that was until we visited Archery Summit. Their Pinots are complex, fuller bodies and very smooth. Colin who waited on us explained their production techniques which they claim make their wines different form most I the Valley. In addition they produce in small batches. Archery Summit is a must visit when you are in the Valley. read more

We had an amazing tasting at Archery Summit Winery. Colin was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The wines are high quality.

I am a wine club member here and brought a few friends with me to taste recently. We were impressed with the quality of the wine as always, but were sorely disappointed in the demeanor and professionalism of the tasting room staff. We were wholly ignored for long periods of time, were not given any information about each of the wines we tasted, and actually had to forfeit the last pour on the flight because we had run out of time as we'd been tasting for 30 minutes. I've had this experience at Archery Summit before and continue to go back in hopes that their attention to the customer experience will improve and match the quality of their wine, but it never does. I always leave feeling as if the staff are annoyed to have to serve their customers and thus, I almost always leave frustrated. After this last experience, I've decided to cancel my wine club membership and will stop recommending them. Disappointing for sure. read more

I am a member of their sister winery, Pine Ridge in Napa, and I emailed ahead to let them know I was coming up to Oregon and they gave my wife and I a complimentary tasting and tour. They were expecting me when I arrived and was treated great. I was blown away by the tour and their Pinot's were top notch. Layers of flavors and depth of flavor and each pinot showed the terroir nicely. We bought the 06 Arcus and it went perfectly with brunch on Sunday at a Portland steakhouse. As the steakhouse sommelier said, it's never too early to drink Archery Summit. read more

The wines were nice, but $80 bottles is a bit too expensive for me right now. The view was also nice, but obscured a bit by the parking lot. read more

I was not a huge fan of their wines. They are super pricey anyway, so I guess that works out. It was just a little too upscale/snobby of an experience for me. read more

Expensive ass wines. A pinot for $150 is robbery. You know who you are AS estate.

The tasting room was full and a tight space. The server was really nice and he balanced a lot of people at one time. The wines are overpriced but the taste is pretty good. read more

Archery Summit is the best of the best. Amazing Pinot Noir. Breathtaking views. Super knowledgeable staff. Jillian was taking care of us and she didn't mind answering our million questions and teaching us all about their wines and how it's made. Go on a nice day and enjoy the patio! read more

Price range $48-$85. Tasting fee is waaaay too high $15. Not too keen on the "3 day old bell pepper"nose, but I can't deny that the wines are pretty good. I guess they are worth the hefty price for the bottle (they do taste wonderful). For more good Oregonian wine suggestions check out my other reviews!!!!!!!!!! read more

Ryan is the most pleasant and enjoyable person in a tasting room you could only hope to meet. Excellent quality pinot noir wines with great quality. read more

My husband & I were in Portland for a wedding. Since we are members at Seghesio Winery in Healdsburg, CA we decided to drive out to Archery Summit, which is a sister winery. We are so happy that we made the trip. The wines were great and the views were outstanding. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the spacious patio. Jillian took such good care of us. She was fun to chat with and very enthusiast and knowledgeable. The cave tour is well worth the time. We definitely would recommend a stop at Archery Summit Winery if you are in the Portland area. read more

This winery is OK. Tasting area is decent and the wines are a bit pricey for the taste in my opinion. There are better wine and view options in the area. read more

The new wines were pretty good, but we got one of the reserve tastings and two of the pinots (2009, 2008) were way past their prime. For a $45 tasting, having 1/2 the pours be undrinkable is pretty unforgivable. When I asked about it, the response was "this is how they are supposed to taste... they are at the end of their life". Watch out for decaying wine! read more

Felicia offered great service and made it fun. Nice property with beautiful views. Awesome Pinot Noirs.

In one word to describe...I would say SUPERB! The wines exemplify some of the best Oregon has to offer. The winery views are stunning as well as the facility and the new A-list lounge. The staff (Karina and Evita helped us in the A-Lounge) are extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and provide customer service that is unparalleled to any vineyard we have been to in Oregon. A must visit! Pete S. read more

Excellent outing to this vineyard. Barry took great care of us. Loved the grounds and an absolutely beautiful tasting view. Even the barrel room is impressive on the way to the bathrooms which are carved into the cave. Really cool place. Recommend getting there right when it opens!! read more

Beautiful property. Well balanced wine that is showing well (2009). But $75-150 a bottle for their high end stuff I don't think so. But stop in and try the sampling for sure. The cuvee (lowest end) is pretty tasty if you want a sample without spending a lot. read more

Was given a recommendation to visit as this is a higher priced vineyard, with the through the service and wine would match. I was disappointed with the small tasting room, and the wait (15mins) to get our tasting started ( there were only 4 people there prior to our visit). There are SO many other wineries, that taste better and for less...I would recommend skipping this to go elsewhere. read more
