Found Letter Four online and read glowing reviews like the ones here... I should have looked…read morecloser. Having worked with them for 2 years, I now realize most of these reviews are either (1) 5+ years old or (2) from people who work there - Alex S, J M, etc. I spent about $120k and the last 2 years on a 4-bedroom remodel with Letter Four. I have *nothing* to show for it. No plans, no permits, nothing. Just a home that I cannot live in with some holes in the walls and ceilings (they just enough minor demo that I can't live there and then they disappeared - fun!) What I do have are shady invoices (they pad their invoices, double-charge you, refuse to send you receipts even after you ask 5x, charge you for everything they can with a 20% markup - Ubers, printing fees, software fees, etc). What really bothered me is that they pay their Project Managers almost nothing and then they charge you $200/hr for those PMs work. When I tried to do calls with them to understand the invoicing, instead of listening and admitting their mistakes when they very clearly double-charged me for the same things - they yelled at me. The owner Jeremy talked over me the entire call. (To his credit, he did apologize for not letting me get a single word in - he said something like "I've been told I do this to women"). If you want to work with two really arrogant people who want to talk a lot about how great they are and how right they are but won't listen - by all means, sign up to work with these folks. The work itself isn't just subpar and sloppy - it's actually unusable. They were constantly making mistakes - you'd send them measurements and then get the plans and everything would be the wrong size. I never got a window schedule that had windows that matched the plans. They never got approval for a permit for the plans they created. They made so many mistakes, it's laughable. I hired a new Engineer and Contractor who both can't stop cracking up about Letter Four's work. "This isn't even to scale! Look, they have the downspouts at the highest points of the roof! Look at this - that part must be a joke, right?!" For the prices they charge and how arrogant they are about their experience, they deliver really sub-optimal work. They claim their high hourly fees and high-end rates will make your remodel easy for you - but I found that working with them is 5x more work than with my new contractor. (Message me if you want his info - he's *amazing*). Finally, their design aesthetic is really cheesy. It doesn't match any of the photos in their portfolio. All their design proposals felt something you'd see in a cheap flip. It was a total waste of money to pay for a "design + build" firm because I ended up designing every inch of it myself. Another reviewer called them "awkward" and I 100% found that to be the case. Their online portfolio is great, but actually working with them is a total nightmare on every level. Most people don't love their contractors - but you will LOATHE these people. I guess if you want some cool horror stories about your remodel, this is the company for you!

Erick on the other hand has been on time and responsive on our first step of the process and that is the design and permitting of the work we want to do on our house. He has been on time on everything we have asked of him and high degree of honesty. His honesty has helped us with navigating our discussion with other contractors. We have not settled on a contractor on the actual remodel but the work Erick has done so far on drafting our architectural design renderings and permit process. His sehas been top notch and if all goes well, my wife and I are strongly considering hiring him as our contract for the actual remodel. Stay tuned and I'll let you know how that turns out. So this is part 2 of the prior review and it is post project completion review. So long story short Erick and his crew have been top notch, professional, cost effective, honest, punctual, available, approachable in every sense of every word I am using to describe his work. Although the project took a little longer then expected it was not his doing but rather my ability to keep up with the pace of the work. I suggest you order things in advance especially windows and any custom work. In short we remodeled our kitchen, laundry room and master bath. Demolished a hallway and bedroom closet to extend the hall way from front to back, sealed some doorways, widen the doorway to the kitchen and then because the price was right and we had the resources, we decided to paint the whole house. All in all, Erick was a man with solutions, advice and was really looking out for us and making sure the project was done right. I highly recommend Erick from start to finish on any project you are doing. Hey will do your design, get your permits, do the demolishing, remodel and be there for final inspection. And he did this all with the same crew everyday. Which for me means a lot because that means he has people who want to work for him such as Marcos, who was builder on the spot. Thank you Erick and Marcos, our family is really enjoying everything you did. Whatever is our next project, I know I only have one call to make and that is to Erick.

Outstanding Experience from Start to Finish!…read more I cannot say enough good things about Willbii! From the very beginning to the completion of my detached ADU, I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, communication, quality of work, and genuine dedication to their customers. My experience started with Steven, who introduced me to Willbii and took the time to show me homes they had built. I was immediately impressed by the quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail I saw in their projects. After seeing their work firsthand, I felt confident enough to choose Willbii to design and build my detached ADU from start to finish--and I am so glad I did! I was later introduced to Kenny, their production manager, who was absolutely wonderful to work with. From the beginning, he clearly communicated each stage of the construction process and kept me informed along the way. He was extremely flexible, patient, and understanding when working with me, and he always treated me with respect. The crews were also fantastic. They were professional, efficient, and worked very quickly without compromising the quality of the work. Kenny was diligent about making sure permits and city requirements were properly handled, while also keeping the project moving forward. Most importantly, my ADU was completed on time according to the agreed-upon deadline. Willbii also helped me with selecting quality interior finishes and design elements, and the final product turned out beautifully. I was honestly very impressed when I saw the completed home. The price was also very affordable considering the excellent quality of the products and materials used. I truly felt that I received outstanding value for my investment. Once the ADU received its final approval from the city, I put it on the rental market, and I immediately started receiving compliments about how beautiful it was. I was able to rent it right away! That really confirmed to me that choosing Willbii was the right decision. Building a home can be stressful, but Willbii made the entire experience much easier and more enjoyable than I expected. Their communication, workmanship, responsiveness, and commitment to quality truly stood out. When I have another opportunity to build, Willbii will absolutely be my first choice. I would also have no hesitation recommending them to my family, friends, and anyone looking for a company they can trust to deliver a quality project. Thank you, Steven, Kenny, and the entire Willbii team, for helping turn my vision into a beautiful home!

They also surrounded themselves with crazy talent so you are getting the A-Team no matter who you are working with at o42. You typically have some good and some bad in any business relationship, but with o42 I can't say enough good things about working with them. The only bad thing I could remember (and this took a lot of digging) is that Ben doesn't wash his fruit before he eats them. Weirdo. We had an idea and a vision, and Stephanie was able to incorporate all our crazy (cheap-ass) ideas and transform a 70-year-old shanty of a building into a warm, secure, and striking preschool. Everything we wanted, they delivered with the extra added level of attention that can only be produced by people who genuinely care. In addition to the design of our school, the o42 team was also tasked with leading our construction project. Anyone that's ever done any sort of construction knows that nothing ever goes as planned. There are always issues to resolve, landmines to navigate -- something doesn't line up, something doesn't fit, or something just doesn't smell right. Of all the things that o42 does right (and there are so many), this is one area where they really shine. Any time we hit a bump in the road, Ben would take a couple minutes, put on his "hold my beer" face and churn out 2-3 solutions for you; he'll give you the cheapest approach, quickest approach, inspector-approved approach,.... boom boom boom. They've seen it all, and they can handle anything. Our project took several months to complete and they had as much gusto about the project on day 150 as they did on day 1. Not only do they get the job done, they get it done with panache. Hire them. Thank yourselves later.
