I highly appreciate that this post office offers services such as passport photos, money orders (cheaper than my bank), greeting cards along with gift cards, boxes, tape, bubble wrap in a small/medium/ large sized packet, a packet of envelopes, PO Boxes, and stamps behind the counter. For instance you can rent out books, articles or scientific periodicals from other California state universities and I was told also order from international Universities. The benefit of being a grad school is that you can have books up to one year until return date is due and rent out their cam corders and camera for an extended period of time . I started off at this school in 2017 and I definitely have seen many renovations through the years including the café, study rooms, tall shelving and interactive group desks, where group members can meet an use a TV to connect to class projects or the Internet. Till this day the library still has a glass case where they display a wide assortment of clubs, issues and events on campus, with nice added touches of regalia/memorabilia! I highly appreciate the fact that this library recycles electronics this can be found at the exit of the library in the main entrance.

I was told by the kind librarian, across from the library public computers, if the book is less than $30 and more than 2 (?) years old it can be ordered to your physical or post office address. Just don't make the same mistake as I did! I did not return it with the packaging and papers it came with. I was then sent an email by the main front desk telling me I was overdue. When contacted about this issue in person they mentioned it was a first time exception. Phew! I don't want to make that mistake again! Good luck hunting for rare gems.

We've return to this library thanks to Shoshanna in the Children's library. We hear so many good…read morethings about her in our community. She is a light of sunshine, kind, creative, supportive, and very helpful. Her optimism and positivity is priceless. Our County of Humboldt is lucky to have her. The children's area has opened ended play and nature inspired stations friendly for young children. We love the new playground however I wish there was a way to close the gate because it is open to the street and people drive fast through that curved corner. In addition, there are sometimes men sitting at the table but they don't have any children with them. Sometimes this makes me feel uncomfortable as a mom with young kiddos.

We are visiting Humboldt County with our friends in our RV's for a month. The wives have been…read moretaking a drawing class and we're struggling to find someplace with rows where they could practice point perspective drawing. We had just had brunch at the Cafe Brio and decided they would try doing their drawing in the Arcata Library. The librarians there were the most rude individuals we have encountered in our travels. I feel sorry for the city of Arcata to have these individuals representing their city. Needless to say we won't be returning, and it definitely left us feeling unwelcome in this city.
