I was told by the kind librarian, across from the library public computers, if the book is less than $30 and more than 2 (?) years old it can be ordered to your physical or post office address. Just don't make the same mistake as I did! I did not return it with the packaging and papers it came with. I was then sent an email by the main front desk telling me I was overdue. When contacted about this issue in person they mentioned it was a first time exception. Phew! I don't want to make that mistake again! Good luck hunting for rare gems.

We've return to this library thanks to Shoshanna in the Children's library. We hear so many good…read morethings about her in our community. She is a light of sunshine, kind, creative, supportive, and very helpful. Her optimism and positivity is priceless. Our County of Humboldt is lucky to have her. The children's area has opened ended play and nature inspired stations friendly for young children. We love the new playground however I wish there was a way to close the gate because it is open to the street and people drive fast through that curved corner. In addition, there are sometimes men sitting at the table but they don't have any children with them. Sometimes this makes me feel uncomfortable as a mom with young kiddos.

For instance you can rent out books, articles or scientific periodicals from other California state universities and I was told also order from international Universities. The benefit of being a grad school is that you can have books up to one year until return date is due and rent out their cam corders and camera for an extended period of time . I started off at this school in 2017 and I definitely have seen many renovations through the years including the café, study rooms, tall shelving and interactive group desks, where group members can meet an use a TV to connect to class projects or the Internet. Till this day the library still has a glass case where they display a wide assortment of clubs, issues and events on campus, with nice added touches of regalia/memorabilia! I highly appreciate the fact that this library recycles electronics this can be found at the exit of the library in the main entrance.

Located on Pickett Road across the packing lot from the Azalea senior center and adjacent to Pierson park. This satellite facility is supported by the local community, and has a great volunteer staff. As well the "friends of the mckv library" have a monthly book sale fundraiser to help support this facility and help to keep it open. The monthly book sale attracts hundreds of book enthusiasts every month. A small but very well stocked reference section at this library. As well you can order books to checkout anywhere within the county system and have the book delivered to this branch making it easy to pick up for the reader. She's been with the library through thick and thin, as the library moved from storage closets to small empty classrooms around this small community. Now Trinidad has a state of the art building with many books donated by local benefactors. The library has a great children's section; a wonderful place to sit and read with your little one. Community activities include children's reading groups, teddy bear sleep-overs, lots of fun stuff.

When I moved here from the big city, I expected to not find anything I wanted to read here. Of course, I was wrong. I'm always bringing home a new book to try. I also spend many a lunch hour using their free wifi. They have computers for those who need them, too. There are plenty of books on local history, which has been interesting to a newcomer like me. There are books on local plants and animals, which proves helpful while hiking. While the new releases I want to read aren't always in the collections, I can often find something that catches my fancy. And the cookbook selection is pretty fun. Finally, I come here to check out the bulletin board for interesting events in town, including park ranger-led hikes in neighboring state and national parks. This is a small but mighty library.

As I grew up, I saw with sadness the hours they were open dwindle more and more. If I were to move back to CC (hell would have to freeze over first) I would volunteer as much time as I could to help this place stay alive. I remember story time for kids, looking up local events, learning to use the card catalog and the old microfiche machines... Cuddling up with a paperback in those old overstuffed chairs... hiding from adults as I read the more mature books that I was much too young for... I hope some little Del Norters are enjoying the library as much as I used to when I was there.

There was a lady who asked for "fiction that's not depressing for grownups". I would have had no idea! The young man working didn't even hesitate and helped her until she was happy.

Used to be an easy 5/5 stars. Recently I visited in late August 2026, and was completely appalled at the lack of books, empty shelves everywhere and total disorder of the entire store, especially upstairs (ommmg the art section??? The architecture section? The automotive manual section???????? Wtf) There are hundreds of books everywhere in the process of being damaged due to neglectful haphazard organization and what I can only attest to current workers not doing their jobs, AND not enough books being acquired by the store since they implemented their slow-paced book intake by months-out-appointment only policy, which has had the result of tons of empty shelves all over the store. The disarray of upstairs book sections was just unbelievable, shocking and deeply upsetting- what was once neat and tidy was just a huge awful careless mess. I was compelled to prop up diagonal, fallen-over stacks of books all over the store when I was visiting which was highly distracting from my usual positive book perusing experience there. There are books all over the floor and books too tall being shoved into short shelves, which causes all of the books that fit to shift over diagonally . What the heck, please please please hire someone who is highly skilled at organization and actually cares about the state of the shop, and get more books on the shelves by bringing back your old book intake policy to fill the shelves up so there isn't room for things to fall over. Get it together, this shop is such a treasure, and currently it just feels like something is deeply wrong and some cog in the machine is missing. I have a big pile of awesome valuable art books I have wanting to bring to sell to the shop for the last year and a half but I keep getting put off by the months long wait. This scheduled waiting system does not work for forgetful folks like me who live in the moment and have a helluva time keeping distant appointments in the future. I'm sure I am not the only one.
