I prefer writing good reviews; however, this experience needs to be told!
PLEASE take the time to read it from start to finish; your privacy and your KIDS' SAFETY could be in JEOPARDY!
I came into the library with my laptop to do some work.
I moved to CC for a new job.
I work at a national nonprofit, working with children and youth with disabilities.
I came into the library so I could catch up on my client case management notes in quiet.
This is only my second visit to this library.
My first visit, there were two ladies behind the counter--the NICEST people I've met.
They were engaging the kids, treating everyone like they were welcome, and seemed genuinely happy to be there.
Before I sat down to do my work, I needed to use the restroom.
The girl behind the counter (another nice person) came around to let me in.
Off I go.
About 5 minutes in, I hear a loud knock and a male's raised voice:
"Hey! Everything's alright in there?!?!"
WTF?!! Did I just hear that?! I thought to myself.
I was thoroughly embarrassed and confused as to why this creep was actively monitoring my bathroom "visit"
Yet, I kept my composure and I responded:
"Uh, I'm fine?! Could you please not listen to me go to the bathroom? Thank you."
He says, "Well, it sounds like you're using a lot of toilet paper in there!"
Meanwhile, the entire library can hear this perv.
Not to gross any of you out, but it wasn't #1, so surprise, I needed to use toilet paper.
When I came out, I see a tall, sloppy-looking, creepy-ass, bald guy with tiny glasses behind the counter, dressed all in black.
He looks like he drives an unmarked white van with balloons in back. He looks like he definitely has a basement behind a trap door.
He looks like a professional stalker.
He looks like Knox Harrington's pedo brother.
If you walked by him with your kids, you'd hold them a little tighter until he passed by. You get the idea.
Since it's relevant to this experience I will explain what happened. I'll keep this very PG-rated.
The toilet paper roll was out underneath the other roll on top, and every attempt to get some out, I had to jiggle the top roll to get more than a square at a time--only what was needed to finish my 'business.'
It was the absolute creepiest experience that's ever happened to me.
As a mandated reporter under the Department of Education, I started asking questions:
*Why does this guy listen to people in the bathroom?
*Does he do this to everyone?
*Does he listen as intently when kids go in there?
*Does this creep get some sort of pleasure listening to people in the bathroom?
*Did he put a camera in there?
*Does he listen to the kids who use the bathroom as well?
It looks that way if he listens to adults, he probably listens to children, too.
When I came out, I was livid. As anyone would be.
Every visitor was looking at me.
I said, "First, is there a limit or ration on toilet paper? I must've missed the sign."
He said, "To me there is!"
"If someone's in there for 30 minutes, I call the Deputy!"
"People smoke in there too!"
Btw, my "visit" took me 7-8 minutes tops just fyi!
I asked, "Was I in there for 30 minutes or anything even close?"
"No."
"Then what's your fascination with my bowel movements, and the amount of toilet paper?"
He says, almost proudly, "I listen to everyone who goes in there!"
I had to say, "please don't listen to my S** habits, it's full cringe, you fn perv."
As soon as I walked away to sit down to work, he immediately went into the bathroom!
He BOLTED into the bathroom I was in! Was I in the Twilight Zone?!
For a second, knowing the smell that was awaiting him, I felt bad.
But he sure seemed eager to get in there before the smell had dissipated!
Questions started swirling again:
*Does this guy enjoy smelling other people's bodily 'smells' in the bathroom?
*Does this library or county do background checks on employees?
***Does Del Norte County protect the children and youth that come into the library by performing at least a DOJ background check?!
*What if this creep has something on his record regarding children?
I contacted the Sheriff's Office to file a report and pursue a restraining order. I wish I could've taken a pic of their face when I told them what happened--they were grossed out.

Like I teach the kids I work with, "Stranger Danger!" and I HIGHLY SUGGEST you teach your kids the same. I honestly don't trust what this guy would do, or IS DOING to an unattended child.
Take a good look at the photo of this guy. Keep your children safe from a potential predator!
I have a strong feeling I will be seeing this perv again--in front of Chris Hansen on the next installment of "To Catch A Predator!" read more
