Then weird things started happening. I got billed for work that wasn't performed, they tried to charge me for x-rays clearly covered by my insurance, doubled-down and said I owed them money when I insisted it was covered, and then claimed "they deal with so many insurance plans they can't keep all of them straight" when I finally pulled up the plan myself and showed them. My parents got hit with "lab fees" that their insurance company said should have never been charged under their contract with the dentist. Lots of other "billing errors" that. Once is a mistake, but something was off basically every visit. Oh! And you get a "billing fee" every time their office screws up, which is fun. If I were a conspiracist, I might say that the office is struggling and they're trying to sneak in extras that patients are unlikely to notice. However, it can also be explained by a few bad hiring choices for office administrators. When I left the practice, I called to get a copy of my x-rays for the new dentist. The office assistant sent a collection of THUMBNAILS of the x-rays. Like, tiny grainy pictures for the new dentist. They got angry and insisted that they couldn't get me any other format, and that the files were just really small when exported and that they had never had an issue with it before. After some heated back and forth, the office assistant described the menu she was seeing in the software, I suggested things she could try to export them, she finally exported the images individually as high-resolution jpgs and sent them to me. Seriously, they hired morons. My family and I have left the practice.

Since it has been years since i visited the dental office so you can guess there were x-rays needed to be taken, lots of cleaning done and other checks to make sure i keep chewing delicious food everyday I got there and they called me right in on time without any delay. Office is great and the staff was helpful. No long paperwork everything is on Ipad and things got done quickly. My X-rays were taken and then Dr. Patel checked them before the cleaning begun. everything looks good . Cleaning took like half an hour for the bottom teeths. The Dental assistant was great and funny and kept talking making me feel comfortable. She really did do a good job. The upper part was to be done in second session since that was going to take time . I got second appt within 2 days of first one. The second appt went really quick as well. I was done on time no extra waiting and the second dental assistant who did the cleaning was really nice as well. Dr Amlani came and said Hi and checked upon me knowing i was there couple of days ago and made sure everything was ok as Dr. Patel was with another patient. I am glad i went after many years. I had heard bad things about the new partners that he had brought in, but never expected to be treated so poorly. I had a filling fall out and just wanted to have the tooth refilled. Instead I was told that they are not an emergency dental care facility, and if I do not come to the practice regularly for exams and check ups that they would no longer see me for dental care. Dr. Patel was condescending, dismissive, and clearly only interested in customers that represent an ongoing revenue stream. Even if I was welcomed back I would not go. I was charged $109 to sit in her chair and told she would not treat me. Outrageously bad customer service. To be clear...the filling that fell out was one that they had done on a root canal several years ago. Now they are saying the tooth is fractured and needs to be pulled but they do not do that there... really just at a loss for words.

Another excellent experience at Dentology Woburn!…read more Dr. Andrews replaced an old crown that fell off with a new Zirconia crown several months ago. Wow, this Zirconia crown looks perfect! My old PFM crowns have all have an ugly line at the bottom margin, as well as metal showing on the top of the crown (that looks like an old school silver amalgam filling). Moreover, the color does not look natural all, and they are VERY susceptible to chipping and becoming unsightly and uncomfortable to my tongue. Dr. Andrews designed this Zirconia crown so good it looks identical to the natural crown on the other side of my mouth. It looks %100 natural, something I could never say about my porcelain crowns. The shape and color match are perfect. I have two other Zirconia crowns (implants) that Dr. Andrews placed 8 years ago. Not a single chip, they still look and function perfectly!

I waited a long time to write my review of Dr. Balani because sometimes you don't really know how…read morethe care was until time has gone by. In short, he is great. Last summer, I was suffering intense pain due to an abscess, My regular dentist was away that week so I ended up having to drive an hour and a half to Woburn on a Saturday to see Dr. Balani but it was worth it. Number one I am so appreciative of his emergency hours. When you need emergency dental care, you NEED it. He and his staff were very kind and understanding and I walked out of the office feeling a million times better. I found him entertaining and very willing to explain the procedures. Followup was great and the fees (though who likes paying dental fees?) were in line with what other dentists charge. His office was super helpful in billing insurance. At my regular followup visit, Dr. Balani did an extra scan on me (at no charge) because I was experiencing some residual discomfort. Right as I was about to leave, he called me back in to look at the scan and noted that there was a possible tiny abscess forming in the tooth next to the one he had worked on. I forgot to mention this to my regular dentist and here we are 9 months later and indeed I have infection under that other tooth. This seems to have been the cause of occasional discomfort on that side of my mouth. So anyway, shout out to Dr. Balani. I wish I had paid more attention to his advice. But mostly I am SUPER GRATEFUL to the way he and his staff took me in quickly and got me out of my pain. Thank you!

I find Dr. Deepak Balani to be the cream of the crop as far knowing his craft. One would hope any…read moredentist treating patients is competent, and I think most are, but he has always struck me as being the best of the best. I believe he's spent so much time perfecting areas outside of general dentistry (such as endontics, even though he's not an endontics) that he able to have a better graps at things that other general dentist might miss or be less proficient in. Full transparency : He is pretty costly. I do not think he's overpriced for the skill that he brings to the table, but because he doesn't accept most insurance (though his office will work with you to try and maximize any out of network benefits you have) it is not going to be feasible for everyone to use him for their everyday dentist. Candidly, I do not always have the means to go to him and will have to sometimes opt for someone network. BUT before doing anything major to my mouth, I got him for his opinion because that's how much I trust. (I am an attorney, I'm someone between skeptical and paranoid - it takes a lot to earn my trust). With all that said, I 100% recommend him. I believe he's worth the hefty price tag if you can reasonably afford it. If you cannot afford him as your general dentist (2x year, X-rays, treatment, ect) I would suggest you at least getting your cleaning with him. He does the cleanings himself, so he is able to spot any problems with your mouth, versus many other offices were the dentist come in and checks the mouth for a few minutes after the hygienist has done their thing. If you need a costly treatment, he is not going to be offended if you explain that you need someone in-network and he will have no problem helping you find someone. But so fair as dental preventive care, I personally find him more proactive than most dentist and I think it's worth having him as part of your dental health team.
