They literally lied about everything. Never trust door-to-door salesmen and don't let them waste your time. If it was such a good service, they wouldn't need to use scummy sales tactics. The first rep said he was with the city or at least heavily implied it with my city's solar program sheet with the city header on his clipboard. Then he asked if I've received any emails from the city about their renewable energy program, and if I haven't yet, I will be. Easy enrollment, save money, and go green YAY! The second rep came (apparently they don't stop coming) boasting about the wondrous achievements Arcadia has made and how they create more solar energy than fossil fuel AND cheaper (a win-win, go figure), which is simply not possible. Anyone who knows the renewable energy industry knows it loses us all a lot of tax money as it will never pay for itself, and is only used by politicians to virtue signal, create division, and get rich from insider trading, which is why they need door-to-door salesmen... but I digress... He then said Arcadia was affiliated with my utility company to implement renewable energy, but they are not. They are brokers trying to steal customers. He also said you can cancel any time, even the first month, and it will end on the very next billing cycle. Good thing I clicked the contract link and read that you will pay for the subscription for 90 days after cancelling, and as Arcadia themselves have said in their responses, it takes 3 months to unenroll. After I caught him in the lie, he played dumb and asked ME what that section meant as he's never seen that or had a customer complain about it. There's also sketchy language about the subscription and termination process. Upon reading the other reviews of 100% cost increases, terrible customer service, account hijacking, and permanent subscriptions, thank God I didn't proceed. All the 5 star reviews are clearly fake, and it's a big red flag when a company has only 5 star and 1 star reviews with nothing in between. The second rep said he signed up a bunch of people in the last few months and has never received an angry call, but based on the Google, BBB, Yelp, and Reddit reviews, I assume he's received a lot of angry calls and was just trying to cover for the bad reviews. I've never seen so many reviews for a company on BBB or so many similar reviews everywhere else, so it's much more than the "people go to the internet to complain" excuse. And like I previously said, wind and solar is fundamentally not the answer, so it makes perfect sense that it's not working and requires door-to-door salesmen to use bait-and-switch lies in order to get sales. Lastly, a government community solar program sounds a lot like socialism, and we all know socialism doesn't work either. This has to be a scam from top to bottom. read more

EXTREMELY high rates despite only doing 50% energy I saw my energy bills nearly double. If you can afford clean energy that is fantastic, but for the rest of us this is not a reasonable option to use. A better incentive for this company would be to offer clean energy for affordable prices for normal salaried humans. They clearly are priced for those of a very high income level. Which tells me that profits are very important to them. They will very much advertise how much you are saving the planet ... at a high cost at the same time as lining their pockets with your money. Now that I am in their program, I can confidently report that they do what they say they do for a very modest fee. I am discussing joining their solar panel program with my wife, and if she agrees, I may have more to report in the future. With the climate changes we have experienced lately, I feel that I need to help to reduce manmade actions that influence atmospheric changes. After performing some research, I decided to do my part by joining Arcadia Power's program. My only problem is with the statements. I used to get more detailed information on usage on the statements that I received from my local utility. I no longer get the breakdown between electricity and natural gas, and any adjustment details are lost. read more

I signed up, connected my utility, and started paying 28.88 each month to Arcadia. This is the amount selected by them, not me. I was promised a $25 gift card to sign up and told I would save money on my "clean energy". After several months I reached out. Found out my utility company was not available for integration so I did not qualify for the free plan, so I have simply been paying $28.88 as a donation every month and not saving any money at all. This was definitely not made clear when I signed up! I also was told I did not receive my $25 due to an error and would receive it in 30 days. In 30 days I was told there was another error and to wait another 30 days. Another 30 days later I was told my account was not connected (they disconnected it when they changed the amount per month to $5) Bottom line, misleading information, false advertising - I have "donated" about $300 under the assumption I was saving on my utility bill and never received the promotion promised. Had a scammer call me to tell me my Pepco bill had not been paid and they were turning my electric off. Contacted someone at Arcadia Power and they promptly shared that in fact I was current with my bill and the bills had been paid on time. Love Arcadia Power! read more

One of their reps knocked on my mother's door and talked about not trying to sell me anything but rather, kept regurgitating that he was there to see if I am getting energy credits on my Pepco bill. He said Arcadia pays my bill through "credits." I am always hesitant to sign up for services through third parties but in my ignorance I accepted. This rep did not tell me that auto pay was a requirement to sign up. He merely said a card is required for the sign up process. Because this was for my mother's apartment, I entered her email address at the sign up process but provided my debit card since I pay her expenses. Weeks later I get a notification on my phone that Arcadia has taken money out of my account (2 weeks before my Pepco bill is due mind you). I call up their customer service number and the rep tells me that autopay cannot be turned off as Arcadia requires it and that the monthly payment is taken out up to 2 weeks before it is actually due to Pepco. I am glad I canceled. This is a pyramid scheme. They have incompetent employees who don't explain the fine print and don't care that they're screwing people over. If these Arcadia scumbags knock on your door, shut it in their face! read more

This company changed my service provider WITHOUT my permission ! I NEVER spoke with them EVER. They somehow got a hold of the Electric account number and signed me up for electricity through a different supplier. ! I was able to stop them before the actual change due to receiving a letter from my long time electric company. IF they try it again- I WILL contact my attorney !!!! No pricing details anywhere, so no way to know what the service fee is for them supplying clean energy and paying your bill. Phone service is horrible. Waited on hold until they offered to call back. Took advantage of that offer and then they called me back and told me no one was available to help and hung up. I called back and just waited on hold. 20 minutes later they told me no one was available and then hung up on me. I'd like to help the environment, but this is very questionable. Beware!!! They are crooks!!! My condo bill (which is closed off season) went from 14 dollars in March, to 43 dollars in April, to 80 dollars in May! All for the same usage!! Solar panels aren't a great option for me because I'm not currently in a great solar area, and I move around a lot. Arcadia Power gives me the chance to use my same power company, but get clean energy offsets at the same time without thousands of dollars in equipment. I also like that I can pay my monthly bill with a credit card (no fees) for the reward points. I contacted customer service once with a billing question, and it was promptly answered. I'm not sure why some people report having their rates changed because my electric supplier never changed, just who I pay my bill through. It has worked great for me! read more

At first was a good service, but when trying to cancel, it is impossible to get in touch with anyone. Email's don't get answered, when you call them, after 12 minutes on hold you are hung up on, when you leave a message for call back, you get an automated call from them saying no one is available. After we signed up for Arcadia, for the beginning months, our charges were comparable to what comed charged. When we lost track of how much we are paying, we suddenly came across comed receipts that were half of the Arcadia receipts. I do not recommend switching to this company. Read the other reviews about how they paid more for their utility bills after switching. They require you to give them your utility company username and password for them to have direct access to your account. This should be a red flag right away. Also like other reviews say, they do not honor their incentives for gift cards or thermostats for signing up. Avoid this company and save yourself the aggravation later. read more
