He has more than once told me my item is just not worth repairing. At times he seems a bit pricey but honestly he's one of the only craftsman of his kind in the area and does a very good job & honestly, what do I know of fair prices? His work is obviously worth it since I keep returning. If you have an item-shoes, purse, briefcase, that is quality and you love, I am sure he can make it last a few more years or will tell you it just is not worth it.
