They start by cooking the crust and sauce, and then putting the cheese and toppings on after it's cooked, letting the steam slowly warm them. I will say, it's probably not for everyone, but I love this pizza so much! It's a thin style, chewy crust, a sweet sauce and a generous amount of cheese. You can order by the slice, order a 1/2 tray which is about 16 slices or a full tray. I may be a little partial because I grew up on this pizza and now I live out of state, but I always drop by when i'm in the area, and sometimes make a special trip there just for their pizza! Best pizza ever!

The only seating is the patio which was extremely cute. The pizza had a thin, crispy crust, making 4 pieces per person do-able. Stopped at this Bojangles on a recent road trip that had us passing through Zanesville. Having went…read moreto college in Tennessee, I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this location all the way up north in Ohio! Bojangles is a classic Southern chain that originated in North Carolina. They serve quick-service, Cajun-style fried chicken, biscuits, fixins, desserts, and more. Most locations have both dine-in and drive-thru options, and are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My sister, mom, and I were driving from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati when we decided to stop in Zanesville for a breakfast stop. It seemed from the map view we looked at that there were a lot of different options on this particular exit, so we made our way to the main area where a lot of the businesses, restaurants, stores, etc. are. After making a stop for coffee, we came to Bojangles for some breakfast before getting back on the highway. This Bojangles location is in the heart of the business district in Zanesville. It sits a little tucked back from the main road, and is also in front of the Walmart and behind Panda Express. There is a road sign that is visible from Maple Avenue that has both Panda Express and Bojangles on it. The parking lot can be accessed from both Balls Lane and James Street. With the signage and multiple access points, it is not too hard to locate and navigate to. We arrived to the restaurant around 9:15 AM on a Saturday morning in September, and it was not at all crowded. In fact, I believe we were the only customers there during our brief visit. So, we made our way inside the restaurant to place our order. The interior was sleek and modern. To me, it looks like this location is relatively new. It appeared bright, inviting, and tidy. Seating options included a bar-height table, four-top tables, and a few booths. There was also outside seating at the front of the building, which included tables with chairs and umbrellas. I am always torn for breakfast here, because I typically prefer a savory breakfast. However, the Bo-Berry Biscuits are out of this world. Typically, I order them on their own and get a breakfast sandwich also, and eat half of each item. Since I was driving, I wanted to see if they would essentially combine the two and put my sandwich onto a Bo-Berry Biscuit. Sure enough, they are able to do that for a $.50 up-charge! So, I ordered a Chicken Bo-Berry Biscuit for my meal. It was just a delicious as it sounds. Would highly recommend! My sister did the same with her sandwich, and got a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Bo-Berry Biscuit. I got to try this one also, and it was very good! I personally prefer sausage for breakfast sandwiches, but it was very tasty nonetheless. The staff here were quick, friendly, and accommodating. I especially appreciated them making the substitutions for our Bo-Berry swaps. We got our food in less than 5 minutes, so the service overall was very good. To me, the value is always good here. We paid a little over $10 for the two sandwiches, including the two up-charges. The biscuits are very large, have a generous amount of meat, and will leave you feeling satisfied. To me, getting a meal for essentially $5 is a good price nowadays. I was very pleased with my visit to this Bojangles location. It is nice to see that they are making their way to the more northern part of the county. I really hope they decide to venture into Pennsylvania next, specifically Pittsburgh! If you are local to the area and have never given Bojangles a try, definitely stop by for a meal at this location. You will not be disappointed, and might even find a new favorite spot.

Those of us who used to frequent the original Wally's Pizza in Cambridge, Ohio, grew up on this exact style of pizza that stems from the famous DiCarlo's Old Fashion Pizza out of the mid-Ohio Valley. I grew up for my first 11 years of life eating DiCarlo's Pizza out of Wellsburg, W.V. (it was my dad's favorite), then Wally's Pizza from 11 years old to now. I still love me some Wally's Old Fashion Pizza as well! My husband and I were in town for our annual 25th Class Reunion last week and were told by a friend that we've got to run into Byesville to try this pizza. We had saw that they were running a special on their Facebook page, which I highly recommend you follow to keep up with their specials. They were advertising a full tray for $20! So on our way back home to Virginia, we stopped and ordered a full tray. Of course we couldn't wait to eat it; it smelled so fantastic! We sat in the parking lot enjoying a few slices, and continued to pick at it on the way home. I was suddenly thinking that we should have ordered 2 trays, because the entire point of getting a tray was so that we could freeze and reheat some at another time, but we were easily making a dent into this pizza, because it is THAT good! We did manage to get home with at least "some" pizza left, (much less than one might expect from only 2 people), which I took to work for my lunch for a couple of days. This pizza is amazing! It is definitely worth going into small town Byesville for! Although Wally's in Cambridge will still be my favorite, as far as competition goes, Tommy does pizza right! I do like that Tommy's has the thinner, crispier crust like I prefer. Wally's Pizza has been hit or miss lately, when I've stopped in, when I'm in town. They used to stick with the thinner crust as well, but sometimes you get thin, sometimes you get thick...you never know what you're going to get, depending on who's making it. Either way, they're both great! On the other hand, Tommy's didn't throw as much cold cheese on top, like Wally's did the night before for us, and is consistent in doing. I guess I could have requested 'extra cheese', but I get that for free at Wally's. Otherwise, I can definitely say, I'll be back! Love it! Awesome pizza! Keep up the good work guys! UPDATE: My husband and I were back and town and specifically drove 45 minutes out of our way from Marietta to Byesville, JUST to pick up a tray of Tommy's Pizza to take home with us home to Virginia. I like mine super thin and crispy, and Tommy's offers that. This is the second time we have stopped here and both times it's been consistently good. I will say that the 1st time, they didn't cheese it up as much as Wally's does, so this is a tray with pepperoni, mushroom and extra cheese. Requesting extra cheese remedied that, but we had to pay for it when Wally's is complimentary. Also, the woman at the window who had EVIL tattooed on her neck was not friendly at all. She wanted to charge us 50 cents each for a box lid, even though we had just spent $30 on pizza and had made a special trip from Marietta to Byesville, just to get their pizza to take home! She slammed the window in my face, and it was enough to make me not want to return. We aren't local. We were driving and eating on the road, and had to stop at a store for paper plates (I wasn't paying them for a lid out of principle). If I continue to get attitudes like that, I will not return no matter how great it is. But as far as the pizza, it is much better than Wally's and I never thought I'd say that. I have been a fan of Wally's for more than 30 years!
