I know what you're thinking: Mike... I'm not sure if I can trust you anymore. You just wrote a…read morereview of this Japanese 12 course meal that you gave 5 stars to... but then you immediately write a review of an Arbys in rural VA and give it 5 stars. What in the ever living heck is going on. Ok... this might be a good time to remind you lol - the way I rate places is I rate them within their categories. In my mind... how am I ever gonna rate an amazing experience at a fast food restaurant if I reserve 5 stars only for high end multicourse spectacular meals. I'm giving this Arby's 5 stars because against other fast food restaurants I've been too... it was just a dang good experience. And with that... let's talk about this Arbys. It's attached to the Loves Gas Station that is right off of 81. The Loves itself is a great gas station. The inside is clean, has big bathrooms, and wide selection of fresh fruits and salads that you can grab if you can't wait 3 minutes for some Arbys. That said... I walked in and grabbed some fruit and when I was leaving... I saw the drive thru for Arbys and was like... ya know what... ehhhh - I'll hit that up. Why not. So I go through the drive thru and was greeted by this very kind voice on the other side of the box. A somewhat distorted kind voice ( they probably want to get their speaker system checked) but VERY kind nonetheless. Decided to order a chicken sandwich and roll up to the window to see the woman behind the voice. She sees Toast in the back seat who is peering into the window and is a bit smitten. I can't remember what she said, but she really liked dogs. So, she preps my meal, it comes out as fast as any drive thru you'd expect has their game face on and she says "I tucked a little something in there for the puppy if she can eat it." I look inside the bag as she hands it to me and notice a little miniature fry cup with a small piece of fried chicken in it. My heart just melts. I express my extraordinary gratitude and head on my way. SO so sweet of her. And I'm not just giving this Arby's five stars because she was sweet to my dog. I promise. The sandwich was cooked perfectly, had an ample amount of fresh lettuce and tomato on it. Fries were cooked perfectly. Ya know... come to think of it. I saw Pepsi products on the menu at the speaker and I said, "Do you have diet Dr. Pepper by any chance" and she excitedly replied back that they did. That woman at the drive thru is just such a kind hearted sweet woman. She really just made my day. She provided a type of customer service that not only will I remember but will cause me to plan out stopping at that location in the future when I'm on the route. And trust me... I've been on that route A NUMBER of times over the past 20+ years of my life. 5 shining bright stars for the Arby's attached to the Love's gas station in Tom's Brook. Ya know... I usually stop in Woodstock around there... but I don't think I've gotten anywhere near this type of amazing service at the Woodstock fast food mecca. AND even the woman who worked at Love's who rang me up for cut up cantaloupe was super kind and friendly. Solid staff here.

We came in the later evening and it was a bit slow. Extra…read morepoints for giving my kiddo an extra toy (two kids one kids meal), and really good sides (jalapeno poppers, curly fries). MIlkshake was good but a little too thick. The roast beef was also just ok, I attribute it to later in day. We don't go to Arbys that much but this experience made me want to try it out more as a fast food option with different sandwiches and sides.

McDonald's - How my nuggets arrived

This is my go-to McDonalds. Best fries around. The food is always hot and presented in an appealing…read moreway. I didn't get a photo of the quarter pounder because it was eaten so fast but these are my nuggets. This is how they "plated" them. The burger was picture perfect too. Not thrown together by someone who's channeling their sadness into food prep.

I had a friend who worked here for a few months and her experience was god awful so I thought I…read moreshould bring it to light! All the staff talks very poorly behind each other's backs and I have heard just about all of it, it is gross!! There are grown women WITH CHILDREN talking about a minor?! Calling her crazy, and continually speaking about her although she had quit I still can't get over the fact it is grown adults worried about what a minor has going on, very weird. All the staff plays both sides to everyone's story too, they will tell you you're doing so well, you're doing great, etc but will turn around and talk about how bad someone is at their job. Honorable mentions, the general manager Julie Taylor had said to my friend and I quote: "If you were my daughter talking to me like this i'd pop you in the mouth" Mind you this was said because my friend had left a note on her desk and she sensed "attitude" my friend was crying in the break room as the manager said this to her. Another mention is the fact that most the managers continue to talk about her when she doesn't even work there anymore. Again I say, GROWN WOMEN WITH KIDS!! MARRIED WOMEN!! Why are you worried about what a MINOR has going on. a MINOR you knew nothing about. also managers??! grow up. They will tell you not to come to work when sick but will threaten to write you up if you don't bring a drs note. nobody goes to the dr for every little sniffle or cough!! You'll get told the same thing: drink water take Tylenol and rest. Their supervisor never fails to communicate everything that is broken to the owners. Julie's daughters work there and they are biased, always getting sent home first / early and can call off whenever without a needed note. Another thing is certain managers will know about a persons mental health issues / anger issues and purposely push their buttons, accuse them of lying, and make the rudest ignorant jokes about it. My friend had to train herself on everything except 1st window because nobody cared to do so. she learned everything herself yet was constantly discredited. there is lots of other staff who also are discredited did i mention mice issue? overall this workplace is gross literally and figuratively, the people (most not all) are extremely toxic and disgusting towards the younger staff. it is unacceptable and unprofessional to be speaking on a former employee who is under the age of 18 that's highly inappropriate. they also will quite literally hire anybody and will fire good workers rather than ones who don't benefit the workplace. they constantly cut corners like re-drop fry's when people ask for them fresh... just a highly toxic, unprofessional, weird, uncomfortable, depressing environment.
