I've been going to Houlton for a good 25 years and have never been to Presque Isle so my hubby and I set out on a car trip for 45 minutes. Drive was nice and it was sweetened by meeting up with friends from Rangeley who were up snowmobiling. They recommended meeting up at Ferris BBQ so we put in the GPS and off we went. Ample parking, clear signage, and entrance clearly marked. Found our friends at the bar waiting for us. Bartender came right up after we said our hellos, gave us menus and told us what the specials were. We had had a late breakfast so not really all that hungry. We looked at the menu and decided to share the Brisket nacho fries. I enjoyed perhaps a little too much their specialty margarita "chocolate covered strawberry" oh my! I had two they were sooo good. The chocolate rim was semi sweet chocolate with sea salt yum! The Brisket nacho fries were amazing. The brisket was super tender, almost melted in my mouth so good. Fries were crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside. We dove in so fast and was having such a good conversation a picture of the nachos is missing. Decor was BBQ type theme with metal signage with cute sayings. Ample tables and a good sized bar. Friendly staff and good food, I'll have to come back again in the summer when we visit again.

The glass was frozen- you gotta love a beer in a frozen glass, always so much better! We ordered our pizzas and our breadsticks and the breadsticks came out first as an appetizer should. They were very good but possibly a bit too cheesy. They were stuffed with cheese. I would probably get them again. The marinara dip they came with had no extra fee, we live on the extreme southern end of the state and often places down our way will charge an extra $2 or $3 dollars more for a dip cup. Northern Maine never stops surprising me! The pizzas were delivered to our table just as we finished our breadsticks-perfect timing! The pizza was really good. The dough tasted fresh, it was thin with a slight crunch. The sauce was tangy, like a Greek style pizza sauce. The toppings were just the right amount. This Subway location in Presque isle is manipulating their online orders. Many times, in my…read moreexperience, you order a sandwich or salad and it's not ready. The App tells you when your order is completed. When you go and pick up, they tell you it's not ready, they haven't even started building your order. I sense some trickery to boost their online stats. When ordering via app, give yourself an extra 15min before picking up. Just my experience, I'm sure I'm not the only one when there's 6 other people waiting.

Today that wasn't the case. My order was ready when I got there. I did a quick glance inside the bag and noticed that 2 cookies were missing. I addressed this with staff and the staff said "oh we are out of those cookies". I asked for a refund and she said she couldn't refund just the cookies. A person standing in the store suggested I just take a bag of chips. I took the sandwiches and chips and drove 20 minutes home to realize that they made both of my sandwiches incorrectly. The turkey had what was supposed to be on the steak and cheese and vise versa ..the cheese, veggies and mayo vs mustard. I drove back to subway (20 minutes) and asked for a refund. The person running the cash register yelled for another lady to come help me. She was sitting at a table and came to refund me wearing her pajama pants and tshirt. As I explained, I didn't bring the cookies back that I was charged for, because I never got cookies, I noticed the 2 staff making sandwiches acted like they thought this whole thing was pretty funny. I asked for a comp sandwich for my troubles and finally just left. I won't be back. Terrible service.

There are so many options and flavors for coffees! I got the cinnamon bun iced coffee and boy was it delicious. The pastries and donuts were too hard to choose from. I had the Nutella pockets and they were to die for! To top it off, the service was awesome, the woman helping me was super friendly and knowledgeable with great recommendations -- I will definitely be going back every day that I am in town for.
