The setup is simple: place your order, grab a seat, and enjoy. What made me laugh was that many of the "tables" are surrounded by lawn chairs. It's not what I expected, but somehow it fits the laid-back personality of the place perfectly. There are a few traditional tables available, but the lawn-chair seating adds to the charm. I ordered the "My Pleasure" biscuit, which comes with fried chicken, egg, and cheese. The chicken was flavorful, and the sandwich was very tasty overall. The chicken was a little dry when combined with the biscuit, but not enough to keep me from enjoying it. It was still a satisfying breakfast and easy to see why it's a popular menu item. If you're looking for a quick, casual, and uniquely Athens breakfast experience, Cafe Racer is worth a stop. Good food, reasonable prices, and enough personality to make the meal memorable.

My Girlfriend and I ordered chalupa boxes at 1:00pm, and by 1:25pm we knew something was seriously wrong. Our Chalupas were nowhere to be seen, and neither was the staff. It seemed they were prioritizing drive-through orders at the expense of the 10 or so patrons waiting in the store. I'm not the "speak to the manager" type, but felt I had no choice but inquire into the fate of my chalupa boxes. However, as I shuffled up a middle aged mother beat me to the punch. She began screaming at the staff that "It's taken 25 minutes for two tacos and my children are literally starving in the car." So passionate was her rhetoric that you'd think her mini-van had arrived at the Barnett Shoals Taco Bell straight from Donner Pass. Thankfully her enthusiasm yielded fruit, and within 30 seconds our chalupa boxes and the starving children's tacos materialized. It's always uncomfortable when service is so bad that one must scream at the staff to receive the product, but this was one of those cases. This Taco Hell has had issues with staff for awhile, so I urge the owner to please please up the pay and hire on competent employees.
