Disrespectful and no pride in work or company. Let me preface by saying our home is on stilts (not always easy to work around, we get it). We hired ArborPro Tree Experts in December '25 to remove some dead trees from our property and trim up trees surrounding our home. A consultant from the company came out and we discussed in detail what work we wanted done because I knew it was a big job/ask and I didn't want anything miscommunicated. It was going to be expensive as well. We were reassured that the task was not too big and they could handle it. A crew came out and removed the dead trees, killing several plants in the process (Fine, that happens), the trimming of the trees along the house were done so poorly, lines were like ocean waves not linear the vegetation touching the house was not cut back as requested, the hedges by the road weren't touched. The work was so sloppily done I requested that they come back to further clean up and complete the work I had requested. Something I have NEVER EVER had to do. I would usually just suck it up as a learning experience and finish the job myself but this was BAD. A consultant came back out and agreed the work was sloppy BUT I would have to PAY EXTRA for it to be completed the way we had previously discussed. After negotiations a few days later another crew came out and completed the job...or so I thought. It still wasn't to my satisfaction but it was significantly better than they left in initially so I moved on. Fast forward to current time. We were having some preventative work done on our home, which included having our sewer scoped. When a technician went under our house to inspect the sewer line, he couldn't. He took photos to show exactly what had been left behind by ArborPros. Turns out all the debris that had been cut up had been dumped haphazardly under our house. A large pile of branches, leaves, and TRASH (drink containers, food waste) were pilled so intensely right ontop of the sewer access we weren't able to have that service performed. Not only was this company one of the most expensive companies we've given money to, they were also the most insultingly unsatisfying. It's sad to work with people who take no pride in there work, but also don't mind running their employers name through the mud. I couldn't refer this company any less. This is also the first time I have ever written a company review, but it had to be done. Very sad. read more

This was like a relationship gone wrong. When Colin first came out to the house I was very impressed and ready to hire. I received a quote in a timely manner and was happy with the pricing. I asked to add some more work to the quote and things fell apart. I called the office...voicemail...no response - silence I emailed the office...couple days later response. Can't make out pictures, maybe Colin can help. I emailed video to Colin....silence I called Colin...silence I texted video to Colin...silence Today is day 5 of trying to get an updated quote and the quote will be deleted from my inbox. Returning customer calls should be easy. Even if it's we cannot help you, make the damn call! UPDATE: I finally received a call and text after the post. There appears to be multiple reasons for them not getting back to me. Short staffed, guys on light duty etc. My message is simple. Most people are very forgiving if given information up front. Most businesses today over communicate than under. I receive text updates, email updates and phone calls from companies that are serious about customer retention and service. They don't clean up after themselves. I live within an HOA community and AMS hired this company to trim trees prior to a community wide painting project. I keep my front porch and driveway pristine. I came home after Arborpro had trimmed the trees in front of my house. There was broken twigs, branches, leaves and debris all over. I contacted AMS about the issue and was told to be patient as the project was not yet completed. Well it's been weeks and the company has long finished the project. I was always taught you leave things as you found them or better. Not this company. Either AMS didn't contact them and/or this is just how the company operates. I was very disappointed to have to spend the time to clean up a mess I didn't create, one that I actually paid for via my HOA fees. read more

These guys are great! At first I thought I had made a mistake in hiring them - they were all over the yard looking very disorganized and each doing their own thing. But after about 30 minutes it began to make sense. They showed up on time, walked through the list to double check which trees were to be worked on and then got to work. It took a couple of hours, they cleaned up, and walked me through every thing was done correctly and left. Would definitely use them again! read more

Yesterday 3 arborists came, worked hard for four hours and transformed our yard, removing dead trees and bushes and trimming tree limbs. They were competent, pleasant and hard-working. I paid these jokers upfront to come do some spraying at my house. I can't get them to respond, or call back. They completely ghosted me. I understand small business, I have been part of a small business that over 30 years has become a very large business $15 M a year to $365M a year in that time. You will never get there by hiding from your responsibilities and ghosting customers. My advice is to find another vendor there are many arborists out there. NW Tree Service has a great reputation. We had two very large, dead, Big Leaf Maple trees on our backyard. An arborist came to give us a report so that we could request a permission for removal of the trees from the City of Gresham. When all that was done, we called few companies to come and to give us an estimate for the work. One of them was ArborPro Tree Experts from Lake Oswego. Mark Bourgeois came over as scheduled. Mark was very professional, took his time and wrote us an estimate right then and there! ( no waiting for an email, as the other companies did ). He and his crew came as scheduled @8 a.m. on that day. It was a huge job as the crew had to haul tree trunks up the hill to our driveway. They did fantastic job, I wish I could give them 10 stars! I was blown away by the amazing job they did. I have had these services before over the past few decades, and I have never had such a positive experience as this one. They were on-time, friendly, efficient, safe and courteous. Not only were my expectations exceeded in terms of the actual tree work they did, but as a bonus, they cleaned up after they were done. And when I say cleaned up, they literally picked up every branch, stick, pine cone, etc. and even ran a leaf blower through to make sure nothing was left behind. We had a large tree in our backyard that needed to be removed before it ruined our garage or fell on our house. I called around and scheduled several estimates. At the estimate appointment, Arbor Pro answered all of my questions patiently and thoroughly. They wrote a detailed estimate on the spot that was very competitive. And everyone I spoke with there was exceedingly nice. I got distracted with other projects and waited several months before scheduling. By that time, I had follow-up questions, so Mark, the owner, came out for a subsequent appointment. He had excellent advice about getting the tree permit and was very patient. (Another company was disqualified immediately when the arborist talked to me like I was incompetent. Nope.) On the day of the removal, the crew arrived promptly and were courteous and hard-working. My 2-year-old was watching their every move, and Colin (Mark's son) waved hi to him from the bucket and made his day. They stacked up logs for firewood, cleaned up any trace of smaller branches, and used the leaf blower on the entire lot to get all leaves in the street ready for leaf pick-up day. Our backyard looks fantastic and I'm happy with every single encounter with Arbor Pro. We will definitely use them for tree pruning and care in the future. Arborpro Tree Experts did a fantastic job trimming and shaping a large pine in our front yard. They provided a prompt and reasonable bid, maintained contact with me prior to arrival, showed up on time and did a great job of clean-up. They were also able to give me some good information about the type of tree I had and some of the problems associated with the way it was struggling. Arbor Pro trimmed up a big fir tree for us yesterday and did a five star job! It was a tight spot and required a conscientious crew to avoid dinging the roof, windows, and other plants. They arrived on time, we're super friendly, and then proceeded to carefully protect the area and listened to our concerns. They worked hard, they did exactly as we discussed, did a perfect trim job, and cleaned up! The area looked fantastic when they departed. This team really were "pros"! I have used Arborpro for over a decade and must say I have been so disappointed in their customer service and resolution of a recent issue related to a job I already paid for that I will never use them again. Provided me with a quote to take down a diseased tree that was $300 more than a competitor - then gave me a $300 credit for what I previously paid them to have limbs near the house removed (which was not done in the manner that was explained to my husband and I by the owner). Weeks went by and no resolution - then I get a quote that was so obvious in it's intent to deceive me into thinking they were going to be fair (crediting me back $300 of the $325 for limb removal which was not done as described) but charging me $625 for removal of a tree that I had another company do for $325 - really sad. read more

They are AMAZING!! After the recent snow storms, I had two trees fall over into my neighbor's yard. I am out of the country and was panicking trying to find someone to help me, when I got in touch with Arbor Pro. Chrystal was so sweet and calmed me down-even got me laughing, then proceeded to get me in touch with Dave, who explained how the insurance would work and what to watch out for! Mark and his crew were hired to take down some big oak branches that started on one neighbors side of the property and crossed a fence to the other. These were big oaks that where leaning heavily on one side. Mark helped get all the neighbors on the same page and everyone gave the green light. The crew did a great job and finished the job without damaging any other trees and more importantly the fence. I would highly recommend talking with Mark because you will get straight answers. I asked Mark about references and he said he has done the hospitals in the Legacy Health system for over 10 years, that's a solid reference. read more

They are friendly and the price was very competitive, but they never completed the work that we paid for. They kept saying they would come back out, but that was several months ago. Additionally, they really over-trimmed one of our old chestnut trees, didn't remove a stump they were supposed to, and completely missed trimming another tree. Arbor Pro was on time, professional, friendly, efficient and reasonably priced. They even did a few extra things that weren't on the work order for a little extra. They missed quite a few twigs in one area on clean up but I didn't mind because every where else looked great. It was a big job and took all day. And they stayed late for the extra stuff. The worst customer service. Came out and trimmed trees in January. Called day after the crew was out and asked to have a couple of things fixed on the tree in front yard. It has been 3 months and still waiting. Called office several times and told each time the we would be put on the list. Still waiting. When asked to have a call back from the office to say that we will be on the list for a schedule return, no call back. We have used Arbor Pro several times over the years. This is the worst service we have received. If you use these people, make sure it is right when they are there, because you will not see them again. read more

Today Arbor Pro's crew came out and removed 2 trees and trimmed 4 other trees. This is the second time we have had them out. They came out last year. They were recommended by our neighbor. They are extremely professional and adept at climbing up very tall trees and doing appropriate trimming. They love trees and love what they are doing. They cleaned up afterwards and used a chipper to remove all the debris. and a blower where necessary. We will definitely have them out again. read more

ArborPro is the best. I think of Mark and his team every time the wind blows. Our home and the homes around us are safe from dangerous old trees because of them. The first tree they removed for us was a huge old cherry tree leaning over our neighbor's fence. Other services claimed that they needed heavy equipment to remove the tree and couldn't guarantee that there would be no property damage. Mark came up with a solution; no heavy equipment, no damage just great work. Arborpro also "wind sailed" our very tall cedars. Recently our neighbor told us he was concerned about our giant maple. We called Mark. The tree was dead inside. It was a dangerous job. Mark's crew made quick work of it and even had time to do some serious trimming on the remaining trees on our property. Shane, Terry and Corey were prompt, pleasant, knowledgeable, and hardworking. This review is for ArborPro Tree Experts based in Lake Oswego, OR, Vancouver WA, and Gresham OR. I first met Mark Bourgeois (owner and main contact) at least ten years ago when he came to my residence and priced a very old Oak tree that was in a difficult spot (close to the house) on my property. While Mark was not the cheapest estimate by far, he seemed very knowledgeable about the tree and the process of carefully removing it. The team he sent was just great and they did a terrific job. I did not see Mark again until I referred a next door neighbor to him and saw him when he came to price that job which also went well although my neighbor, who was a known "cheapie" did mention Mark was expensive. Fast forward to the beginning of this year when I wanted him to assess a black Walnut tree on my property as it appeared to be possibly dying. This is the point where the service went downhill. For me, as a customer, a business that want's a person's money should be "waiting" on me, not the other way around. It took over a week to finally establish contact with Mark on this occasion to simply set an appointment. The female in the office took several days to return my multiple calls and you could hear her "irritation" with me in the tonal quality of her voice. It very clearly felt as if she was doing me a favor by returning my calls. While I did not utilize Mark for this job yet, several weeks ago I noticed the one other tree on the property (a Spruce) was starting to buckle the drive. I then tried to contact Mark and yet again had to leave several messages and try to keep a phone with me as I was doing some heavy remodeling on the garage. Several hours later I got a return call from the same female who I had spoken with several months before and from the first word out of her mouth you could tell she was angry with me. She spent a lot of time "justifying" her inability to answer the phone, berated me for my frustration with the poor response months earlier, and suggested that maybe I should take my business elsewhere. I ended the phone call by simply asking her to have Mark call me. He did so late that same afternoon. While he was a bit upset initially, once he heard my "side" of the story he was not so pleased with his employee. We left it that he would come by and price the tree in the next few days and let me know. Two weeks later and I realize I have not seen nor heard from him. So over the course of about a week I sent him 3 emails with no response. And that is how it all ended. Mark Bourgeois just blew me off and thus I would NOT recommend him as he has proven himself to not be a man of his word and he tolerates his employees abusing his customers. read more
